    Quite cheap

If you had a good night at the casino, maybe…

  • +12

If I still had any hair left, I'd 100% own one of these. Genuinely great dryer.

  • +1

Can anyone recommend any alibaba cheaper alternatives?

    • Try Temu

      • Order some hair as well in case haha

        • bought one from aliexpress for $30. No issue so far.

    • +1

You can wait for this deal to come back. It looks quite the same to me, unless someone has used both and can comment.

      • +2

own this one, it works well. has little different to Dyson, imo

    • A sliver plate might do the job :)

  • +11

Finally, a dyson product that doesn't suck.

    • +11

Not a fan of this one, it kinda blows.

    • Actually, it needs to suck to blow

  • missus has been talking about investing in one of these dyson hair dryers, as a bloke I don't get how a blow dryer can cost so much. Does anyone know why they're supposed to be so much better?

    • They’re basically Apple when it comes to hair and home appliances stuff. The difference however, is there’s no such thing (or it doesn’t matter as much ) as the ‘ecosystem’ when it comes to Dyson stuff, so you can freely get the cheaper alternatives from Dreame and the likes for a fraction of the Dyson price without missing out much if at all.

    • -6

they will use it for one month then go back to the old one

    • +1

Yeah your hair is less damaged from the heat and tend to fall out less with this blow dryer. I have also noticed less hair fallout with this as well.

    • -1

Bought a Kogan one recently. Mate has Dyson tested the Kogan said they roughly same except less attachments from Kogan. But if you have money and want a Dyson, why not?

They do better than conventional. Less heat somehow but took same time to dry. The best part is the hair is not as dry (whatever the ion thingy they claimed seem to be working) so left the hair look "silky". Not sure how to explain but you need to try it to see the difference.

As a female I have to say this is the best dryer i’ve owned. I wanted one for a long time as well, I finally bit the bullet and got one. It dries my hair so much quicker. My hair is super thick, so that’s helpful and way less damage from the heat. I have bleached platinum blonde hair so susceptible to damage from the heat, but I have zero breakage.

For those looking for Supersonic Nural model it's $636.65 after using UNIDAYS coupon. Dyson is offering $150 digital prepaid mastercard with it. So effective cost $636.65 - $150 = $486.65

    • Which model is better in terms of PP

      • +7

I just use a towel for my PP

    • That's tempting but I wish they extended it to staff accounts (no over 16 student in the household). 😞

    • Getting an error trying to use the unidays coupon on that. Just says "code doesn't look quite right" for some reason.

Don't think you can combine those offers.

      • I just tried it again and code is still working.

        • Tried it again and got it to work, I had to remove the free hair product sample gifts they prompt you to add on to your purchase.

          • +1

@Subada: Glad it worked for you. I would have never thought of that as a reason

          • +1

            @Subada: Thank you, that worked!

  • The Dreame Gleam and Shark hair dryers are good alternatives

    • -2

Good alternatives or just cheaper alternatives?

      • Good alternatives. They don't crap themselves after a few years which the Dyson is very prone to if you read long term reviews.

  • This or Dyson Airwrap?

    • +1

Air wrap if you want a lot of waves.

  • is it really better than a $25 hairdryer?

    • +4

      Yes

Kind of like an iPhone is better than a cheap Chinese $50 phone.

    • -4

Yes kinda like Mercedes better than those cheaply made Chinese cars

  • Bought a backup. Great price

  • I saw a post of pic of someone getting the $150 gift card too yesterday for buying this particular model. Im guessing the checkout person stuffed up as it looks like this model doesnt get the giftcard

  • +2

These are honestly the most gutless half-baked hair dryers I've used, I'm perplexed as to why people want them, I can understand the hair wraps, they are decent. But these are so bad. You can get a salon grade Parlux for half the price.

    • +2

      Agreed parlux is better

  • Cheers just got the last gold one @ David Jones Doncaster for $378 (5% off due to damaged box)

  • I purchased one of these for my wife and it died after 4 years. My advice is to stay away, even when it worked it wasn't worth the high price tag. The kicker is the support from Dyson was next to useless and wanted to charge a $200 flat repair fee regardless of the issue.

Ended up buying another good hair dryer on sale for less than the repair cost and its been great.

Every single Dyson product we've owned has had a fault, they just don't last but the biggest issue is for the money they don't stand behind their products.

    • +1

Mine has lasted maybe 7-8 years now.

    • I've always had great after sales service from Dyson

      But not saying everyone would

  • air wrap is 100 more and way more useful

  • +2

Do your research. These have a very poor history with filter problems. My wife has one and after 12 months its stopped working. You can't actually clean the filter properly and they end having to go back to Dyson. Buyer beware

    • +5

I have been using Dyson hairdryer for more than 5 years, still works really well. Using it daily and no issues.

    • Their customer service is really good. Did you have any issues getting a replacement?

      • We are currently in the process. So far they have been ok

  • +3

Bought 3 for Mom, partner and sis. Gifts sorted for few months.

  • +1

On a fundamental level this product/price is the complete antithesis of Ozbargain

    • +1

Hey, Maybe you have a wife who isn't frugal/ on Ozbargain and you just wana make her happy!

  • Also consider the Gama Professional IQ Perfetto if you want a reputable salon brand.

  • some colours OOS alrady

    • Yes, price has been adjusted after price matched with them today, stacked with $10 off perk. Extra 10-15% off from gift card deals for good :P
