Just noticed in the MSY pdf

this thing kind of slipped under the radar when the rage was with the docking station ones, which it essentially is.

    MSY is on sale 24/7

  • Not sure about MSY. We were looking at them to buy a high end gaming Laptop but they seem to be selling the lower spec imported models & didn't have any on display when we enquired. Decided to give them a miss.

Hmm… so you're not sure about MSY because they don't sell expensive laptops? What weren't you sure about?

And… how does that relate to … anything? :)

      • No… they do sell expensive laptops. They sold the Laptop we were looking for but not the model we were after. They were selling the cheaper imported versions but at Australian prices without the choice of extra warranty. So it relates to everything when you want something fixed. If you are going to spend a lot of money you want more than 1 years warranty as Laptops tend to die on day 366 or 367 if it is a Leap Year.

        • laptops tend to be "old" after 6 mths… I just paid off a laptop I've had for about 12mths and its "old" already, with tech having such as short life span, long warranties are not realy an issue for most, unless you treat it like whitegoods and expct to have the same laptop in 5-10 years time…. by then it will not run windows 2022 :) it will be too slow.

You may want to check your calendar.. There are only 366 days in a leap year :/

        • well now that you've explained the whole story, it makes more sense. People can't read your minds, so when you just give half the story, it doesn't make much sense.

Yes… thus my point… 365 days in a normal warranty year… Laptop therefore will be scheduled to die on day 366 or if it is a leap year on day 367.

I disagree… I think that extended warranties on Laptops are an excellent way of future proofing your purchase. No one expects them to last forever but I think 3 years is a reasonable life expectancy. Personally I cannot afford to buy a laptop once a year & due to past experience would always choose to buy extended warranty.

on display? yea i think Harvey Norman is where you need. MSY is not for you or anyone for that purpose.

lol msy having $2k+ gaming laptops on the shelf

do you expect the shifty car dealers to have the finest german sports cars on the showroom floor for display?

        wake up

I agree, MSY was not for us but that was decided upon when we did our research.
Fortunately we bought from a Authorised Retailer & 8 months later were fully refunded for the Asus laptop we purchased because of the poor sound quality & other performance issues. The trouble is that you can't always find someone who has a display model but we should have gone to Harvey Norman to test first as the sound issues would have been evident. When we were looking to purchase a replacement MSI laptop we could not find one on display so gave up. Tried Alienware but again faulty & refunded.
C'est la vie Hubby is now the proud owner of a Sony Ultrabook & is content playing Fifa 13 on his iPad :)

Why not just get him a xbox360 or a ps3 instead.

        • Because on the pc, games are "free"

        • Selling the PS3… probably will get the Xbox720 when it is released :)
