      "please explain?"

    • yeah links changed to chinese rom, so the bootloader is not cooked hopefully.

  • +7

I'll wait for Clear to surely clarify (lol) but I'm pretty sure the Chinese ROMs are almost always preferred for the Xiaoxin tablets.

There's a reason why Global ROMs are cheaper- they're normally buggy and from memory don't allow OTA updates.

    • +5

I wont be buying Chinese tablets from AliE without "Clear's " endorsement :)…

    • +3

This one is the real deal and covered below.

      • +1

Thanks for the confirmation :) Looks like the OP updated the link to one with a Chinese ROM (but Global is still mentioned in the title).

Glad that people are being guided away from the Global versions.

        • +1

Seems I missed the original link. Definitely need that global ROM removed.

          • @Clear: I went back and forth on the links, and can't change the post now. But, good to get confirmation from @Clear.

I was able to get a 8GB/256GB Storage Chinese ROM for US$156.50. I felt it was a good deal at the time. After following all the online tutorials google play is up and running and the table works great for watching movies while I'm travelling. Also added a retroarch for gaming and no issues there either.

    • @Rich82 I've tried loads of stuff to get google services running on mine, just keep getting errors and try again messages. What links did you use to get yours up and running?

This is the superior Chinese version of the Lenovo Tab M11 due to the Snapdragon 685 being a lot better than the MediaTek G88 in the M11. You do lose 4G in this however.

It comes with the official CN ZUI ROM and not some fake ass global ROM with an unlocked bootloader. This means OTA updates (Android 14 already) and Widevine L1 for DRM. For Google Play you'll need to enable Google Services in Settings and install Google Play from the Lenovo app store or sideload yourself.

Since this and the Tab M11 have different CPUs you can't use the Lenovo RSA tool to flash Tab M11 firmware onto this.

      Love your work

    • Any good deals with the next level of tablet above this?

Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2023? I'll have to check. 11/11 may be better.

        • 2023 Pro is better than 2024? What's 11/11?

          • +2

@wisdomtooth: Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro whether it's the 2023 or 2025 version is better than the regular Xiaoxin Pad. 11/11 is the Singles' Day sale that happens every year. That and Black Friday are the biggest sales of the year.

            • @Clear: Right! Forgot. Haven't been single in a loooooong time 😅

            • @Clear: @clear let us know if there any deals on it :)

              • +2

@liveish: There will be on the Pro 2025 tonight.

                • @Clear: Will there be a post about it?

                  • +1

@CrashOveride: Yeah just under further negotiations as I want both the standard and matte on sale.

                    • @Clear: Cool, would you recommend the 2023 or 2025?

                      2023 is currently $302

Any thoughts on the Xiaomi pad 6s pro compared to this?

      • +3

This is considered an entry to mid level tablet, while the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro is a flagship tablet. The Xiaomi is better in every single way, except it lacks GPS.

        • What kind of a tablet, especially a "flagship", doesn't have gps

    • +1

      Thank you!

Good buying at the money! though I prefer the 2023 model

Any recommendations for similar OzBargain approved tablet that has a smaller screen?

    • +1

Yeah I need an 8 / 9 inch tablet for my kids upcoming birthday. Samsung A9 is sub $200 at the moment, any Ali recommendations?

      • +2

        I've been doing some research.

Seems like the alldocube iplay mini 50 pro still better option than the A9. Heard that although the A9 is much better than the A7 Lite, still a bit slow.

        • +1

Thanks mate, that was my pick from research awhile ago. Good to see it's still up there

  • In almost 2025, No sim card slot, thus no WWAN connection. Gees.

  • Link to Chinese Rom???
And how do you tell if it’s Chinese rom from listing?

    • Sorry, I linked to the wrong listing initially. Now I can't change it bc a mod fixed my post (but not that in the title).

imo the screen res makes it not worth it, coming from a xiaoxin pad pro 2020 user :)

    • I can't even see better than 720p! 😆

      • +1

Without my glasses I see worse than 144p so lucky you 😢

Do these tabs have good pen support? Do you have to use a particular pen?

  • +1

Ive been trying to research to find a tablet that has Video Out so I can hook up a tablet with a usb-c to hdmi to a hdmi splitter and display it across multiple TV's.

Would these type of tablets allow me to do that?
