Kicking off from November 1st is the next AliExpress Choice Sale and this time the coupons give a bigger discount. The coupons are valid in both USD and AUD. While this is a "Choice Sale" the coupons will still apply on pretty much everything.

There will be a cashback increase at one of the providers during this sale.

Choice Products are shipped directly from the AliExpress warehouse and typically arrive within 2 weeks. If the delivery exceeds 14 business days you're able to claim a coupon and if it's not delivered a full refund after 30 days. Most of my recent Choice orders have arrived within 7 business days.

Coupons are 1 per account, do not stack with the new user "Welcome Offer" and "Big Save" promotions. The minimum spend excludes GST and shipping.

Discount (USD) Min Spend (USD) Discount (AUD) Min Spend (AUD) Coupon Code 1 Coupon Code 2
US$3 US$29 A$5 A$50 AUCD03
US$5 US$39 A$8 A$63 OZAF08 AUCD08
US$10 US$79 A$15 A$120 OZAF15 AUCD15
US$15 US$119 A$25 A$200 OZAF25 AUCD25
US$30 US$229 A$50 A$380 OZAF50 AUCD50
US$50 US$349 A$80 A$560 OZAF80 AUCD80

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

Better to wait for 11/11 for the biggest!

    • I was thinking the same. Might save up for a couple of weeks.

    • +1

      What's that

    • Yeah I tend to only do the bundle saving deals as they'll be cheaper during the sale. A good way to stock up on Baseus and other cables cheaper than the Amazon deals people froth over.

      • +8

I have been using Aliexpress express a lot lately. Their return and shipping has improved a lot. I avoid eBay and Amazon if I could. eBay Plus is now rubbish not worth much these days and Prime video has ads… Very annoying

        • +5

Despite the ads, it's still the best value subscription. Shopping + watching + gaming + (a very basic) listening, all in the one price.

          • +2

@tangcla: It's not really ethical when you paid a subscription there should be no ads. It's a rort. They just want more money from existing members

            • +3

              @neonlight: Tell Foxtel that

              • @Ulysses31: Nobody uses foxtel anymore we ain't cable days no more. I have EOPs marked with foxtel that's about it

        • +1

It's my go to place for electronic parts. Very good, and 1 week shipping from China is the norm.

Got mates raving about how good Temu is. I haven't used it yet. Looks similar to Aliexpress.

          • +3

@RedHab: Temu does not have the same level of customer service nor suppliers on electronics parts as extensive as Aliexpress

Not using Temu as a lot of stuff on there are not genuine where as Aliexpress they accept refund if you got counterfeit and you can prove it

Aliexpress used to be 3 weeks minimum but they lifted up their game probably cause of Temu

    • +2

True but shipping times will be impacted since 11/11 is the biggest online sale of the year. If you have urgent items you want don't wait. Small items don't usually get much discount on 11/11 the difference is minimal. Like a few bucks. Not worth waiting longer.

If you got higher value items sure…

I would rather get it out of the way and avoid delays. My stuff it's only Max $39 USD worth

      • Is mostly everything on sale?

Non-urgently looking to buy a tablet around $300AUD, best to wait?

        • +1

          Yes wait

  • The shipping times when the package hits Aus is terrible
Maybe just here in Perth but lately they’ve been using Aramax for Choice stuff and Fast Horse express for everything else and both are arguably worst than Auspost

Never the less I’ll still keep buying stuff on AliExpress

    • +5

AliExpress are still Auspost for me thankfully but Amazon are using Aramex. They love dumping big ass packages on the front step and always ignore the parcel locker.

    • +2

Fast Horse deliver on weekends unlike Auspost.

    • +1

For me in Perth so far no problems with fast horse, they usually deliver pretty quick once it arrives to them. Aramax on the other hand the item will sit in their depot and feels like it'll be delivered whenever they feel like it.

      • I've been mostly getting FastHorse once it's in Australia since I moved places.. I had better luck living in literal whoopwhoop since it was always Auspost.. Now at this new place they'll literally leave it outside my Apartment storage room which isn't really next to my actual apartment at stupid times like 4am. It's happened more than once..

    • I get really good delivery times in Perth, almost always fast horse

    • I've found most items (especially choice) arrive within 2 weeks - often just over 1 week.

      • just got one of my items. took 9 days from order date so yeah just over a week. bigger store/seller too so they shipped the item very quick almost straight after ordering. at one point (maybe early covid?) I swear I had a few items delivered in like 4 days. this was before the big etsy migration and they were pushing sales pretty hard and prices were still amazing.

haven't shopped at ali in awhile so first time with fasthorse as well. I was wondering why the auspost notifs weren't coming in. then suddenly on a Sunday when I wasn't expecting it appeared out of nowhere. I did get a fasthorse email though saying delivered.

  • +1

For the choice sales are mobile phone prices jacked? Nubia Z60s pro is $US 318 today which is lowest recently. It has been around $350.
GST is additional. ( At higher than 10© rate as normal).

    • +8

Sellers may choose to raise their prices but they shouldn't as AliExpress take the hit for the whole discount. Unlikely eBay where it can be <5% eBay and >10% the seller.

  • +1

    thanks this covers tax

One day I will find something these coupons can actually be applied to

    • One day I will find something that they don't work on besides the listed exclusions.

Feel free to link a product during the sale and I'll see why it doesn't work.

  • How's warranty claim if I buying something like those mini pc boxes kind of electronic products? Or will it be easier to pay more to deal with Amazon instead?

    • Warranty only 90 days,

However change of mind or DOA pretty straight forward with free local returns

      • Ah, only 90 days warranty not worth it if just saving over $50, rather stick with Amazon then. THX!

        • Even Amazon you can't get stuff under warranty beyond return period I believe

  • -2

Geez Aliexpress is going crazy with these discount coupons, nice 😳 wonder why though? The downturn economy maybe?

    Certainly a buyers market 👍👌

    • +3

The discounts are worse than previous years. You used to get a US$3 off every US$30 every spend or similar alongside the coupons.

Plus some non-rigged games for codes and freebies. I won a heap of Xiaomi gear and AliExpress branded merchandise.

      • Do you know since when Aliexpress got faster shipping times. It's only this year I started using them again. The years before were too slow. Maybe that's why was more discounts

  • I’m sick of AusPost repacking multiple AliExpress items into a different bag with a different tracking number bags - ships from “UCL Ltd” and then the sub-contractor drivers dumping stuff in full view on my doorstep. Have lost three parcels in past three months. Auspost take no responsibility if you can get through to an actual person - then they have the gall to say use a parcel locker. Most of the drivers are taking photos but if you are not home and your instructions on you account say do not leave. They rarely read them. It’s only going to get worse between now and Christmas.

    • Happened to me too - the parcel was left on the street and a photo taken. Started happening recently and not sure if that is a new process. I don't think the sub-contractor is AusPost tho.

      • I had assumed it was an aliexpress affiliated delivery partner. I think they ship all items in bulk to the distributer who bag them up and deliver. But i am totally guessing.

    • +1

Is there some reason you don't use a parcel locker ? This is generally the solution if your doorstep isn't "safe" for deliveries.

      • Because Aliexpress uses Fast Horse in many areas. There's been cases where if a Parcel Locker address is entered they'll either send it back to the sender or worse leave it on top of the Parcel Locker for any random person to take becuase Fast Horse can't open AusPost Parcel Lockers to deliver parcel to.

        • +1

I notice deliveries from fasthorse are of poor handling. For example I live in a house but they won't bother leaving the package undercover but fully exposed to sunlight and rain just outside my garage when there is a door/gate with cover. Some even left it next to mailbox. Very poor in front of driveway when the mailbox doesn't fit

        • hadn't ordered in awhile so first experience with fasthorse deliveries.

weirdly the items don't get combined into a single package. I ordered 3 items in one order and they are all coming one by one with separate tracking and different shipping speed. so what dman said about them combining isn't happening to me with fasthorse.

in the past it was completely normal for all items in a order to arrive in the same satchet bag with it's own tracking number. when checking the tracking pretty sure they all got combined at the first linehaul warehouse. before they did this by holding quicker items, but now it seems every item has it's own speed and shipping type.

  • Lowest prce of Nubia z60s pro has been increased by UD$30 today probably in advance of upcoming coupons. Not impressed.

    • US$355.70 ex is the cheapest I can see. There's others for more.

  • Little bit off topic, but does Banggood do similar sales/coupons?

    • +1

They don't much these days. They were on the verge of closing, laid off most of the staff and shifted to another province. Now there's expensive shipping and few deals.

      • Ah, shame, cheers for the info. I haven't used Banggood before but the idea of a store with individual listings seems a bit more trustworthy than a marketplace with 100 listings from various sellers for the same item.

  • Im hanging out for a 2tb ssd for the rog ally. Might wait till 11/11 for that one.

  • +1

Can someone tell me the top 20 electronic purchases off ali? I have an itch to buy.

    • I've been using chinese mice/keyboards for gaming for ages now, if you look hard enough you can get mice equivalent to $150 logitech's for $50-70, same for budget mouse pads, or mechanical keyboards etc. Handhelds are fun too like an RG35XX or Miyoo, idm chinese watches and I stock up on Game Boy modification parts sometimes too since I do that as a hobby. Lots of fun stuff on there.

  • A new coupon code has been added.

Discount (USD) Min Spend (USD) Discount (AUD) Min Spend (AUD) Coupon Code 1
    US$3 US$29 A$5 A$50 AUCD03
  • +1

Note that the coupons are misleading, in that GST charged is on the pre-coupon price.

So for example, $100 item with a $50 coupon, you are charged $10 GST, not $5 GST.

So any coupon values are 10% less than what are advertised (e.g. $50 coupon only saves you $45).

Extremely scummy practice by Aliexpress and you know the extra tax isn't being passed on to the ATO.

    • +2

Yep it's a well known issue that the tax calculations are wrong. It was discussed a while ago with their legal team and they really didn't get it. You can grab the ATO customer code from the invoice and try reporting them to the ATO to see if anything happens. I'm hopeful with enough reports something would happen.

  • Pretty decent if you choose the items on a discount already… Got a ~$89 Mouse for $68, $30 mouse pad for $23, and some cheapo speaker stands with an extra $15 off on top.

  • thanks clear I will check to see if I can get some things I need at a low price with coupon + your recently posted cashback deal (I know not guaranteed - but past experiences have always tracked no matter what). one item I checked before dropped in price with 19 days remaining showing so I think it will be the same low price now.

also when logging in I saw some australia exclusive codes for big spenders. from $300 spend to like $80 off $530 or something. seems to be choice sale items only but plenty of cheap items like $1~$2.

    • Those big spender codes are already in this deal ;)

      • oh yeah the last three AU code ones my bad didn't check the codes.

  • I didn't meet the $120 tier I thought I was going to was a few dollars short. 😐

but I used AUCD08 and it applied so decided to send it thanks. 😃

I really wanted good savings before CR so $5 off per item would have been nice with $120 total. but now hoping to see around $10 cashback is successful.

    • Yeah i hope cashback tracks… Ordered many Xmas gifts

      • the items I ordered were gifts too. 🤗 not Xmas though.

        • Oh wow… CR tracked all cashback already!

SB could learn a thing or two…

  • Is it just me or does all the codes say they've been used up???

    • No. Still working

  • +2

Sorry, the coupon code you entered is based on a first come first served basis and has been been used up by other shoppers. Please enter a different coupon code or explore other discounts on AliExpress.

    OZAF80

This coupon code is for single use only and can't be used here

    All other codes working.

    • +1

      I"m getting this one exactly!

    • Just tried now and getting the same error messages.

  • Is there a way to check items with free delivery? in aliexpress cheers,

    • +1

If you're talking about the Delivery options & services check box on the left (using desktop PC) then no, it often doesn't work.
      Worth a try though.

    • Choice items have free delivery for over US$10 purchase

  • Hey Clear, I have a few bucks credit from non-delivery items which valid up until 10/11. Is there a way to deem them on/after 11/11? Thanks

    • Expiries can't be extended.

      • Ok, thanks, I purchased a few items to value them.

  • For those interested in the impact of the Cash Rewards cap of $25:

    AUD125 = USD_77_ gives $10 plus $15 which is USD25 off the $77 = 32%
    AUD536 = USD_349_ gives $50 plus $15 which is USD55 off the $349 = 15%

    • I now thought of a better savings method for my checkout.
I should have restarted cart, and added one item which is few dollars more from different seller, then I would have made it into the $15 off AU120 spend tier.

would have worked out cheaper overall with the extra $7 coupon discount. instead I was few $ short and settled for $8 off $63.

  • +1

Because I don't want to deal with a dozen Heymix comments…

Ueetop 175W GaN USB C 6 Port Charger LED Display AU Plug US$20.84 (~A$31.83)

It'll do 100W from a single USB-C port and 65W+45W from two USB-C ports. If all 6 ports are in use it'll still continue to provide 65W on a single USB-C port. Stacks with cashback too.

    • +2

Was just about to check out using one of the older codes since the codes in this post seems to have been exhausted….. anddddd just added another US$20 to my cart. Thanks!

    • Gah. I can't figure out how to get the original url but I see there's 440w and 320w upright ones for a little more coming up as recommended… Thoughts on these?

  • Any deals on a ryzen mini pc (e.g. 6600H or above) that can take 64G ram?

    • Yeah looking for one as well.

  • Anyone found a good replica lego rivendell? I have noticed that the listings don't last especially long for them, a month or two at most - rarely enough time for sufficient reviews to come through.

My trouble is that by the time I'm even halfway through the build and potentially discover a significant number of missing pieces, the return window is closed.

    • https://reddit.com/r/Lepin is a good source for reputable AliExpress sellers. There are a lot of longtime ones that don't disappear.
