  • This looks like quite a deal

  • Now thats an awesome price! for a high end card! Top QTY brand too!

  • Hmm, extremely nice deal, but there is no mention of the current AMD never settle game bundle which includes: Far cry 3, Hitman Resolution, Sleeping Dogs

Also never heard of MLN before, anyone know anything about them?

    • Bought a few stuff from MLN before but I went to the store directly since it's nearby my house. Very reliable but seeing its Christmas period they might be overwhelmed by orders and expect a little delay like most online delivery stores during this period

    • Isn't the never settle bundle redeemed after purchase? (ie. send in a scan of your receipt)

      • Nope, the retailer needs to send you a card with the code on it (only 2 retailers in australia are doing it as far as I know)

  • +1

Just called up west melb, confirmed no never settle :(

    • What?

      • Only pccasegear and centrecom have never settle in australia I believe. this card is at pccasegear for 429 with never settle or the xfx one for 409 at centrecom. great deal though +1

        • Mwave also lists it

    • Sorry, but wth is never settle?!

  • Does anyone know if PCI-E 3.0 is backward compatible to 2.0? Just in case it is not before I buy it. I trust you guys ;)

  • +2

Wow!, I would buy this if I had some monies and a reason to buy it.

    • +5

could be said about pretty much "Everything"

    • +2

      well said …

  • Great price for it. Have not seen lower

I own one and has powered both my eyefinity setups and my 30" stand alone.

Now seriously considering whether to get another for xfire goodness

  • That's a great price. Cheaper than the cheapest reference card.

  • all gone, dang it!

  • Buy now button disappeared :(

  • expired! im MAD!

    • +11

      MAD=missed another deal?

    • +6

Don't be sad. 30% faster 8970 just around the corner

      • Got word when said new card coming?

        • Rumour is sometime around march i believe.

        • Hmm. Need one for Xmas break!

        • And they will prob be around $800 at release as were the 7970's

        • +1

Apparently, they will be cheaper at launch than the 7000 series. However, that is the rumour mill only not from AMD or the card manufacturers.

  • all gone in half a hour,.. even at $375 i would have bought….

i suspect the 8x series is comeing soon, but we wont see a massive jump, rather itteration, till the 10 series in any event…..

i dont game and no free time, so might have been like my last purchase that i didnt game on, lolz

    • I think the 8xxx series is still a while off, especially once you factor in the delayed release here. This particular card seems to be a non-GHz edition which might be why they cleared it out for such a solid price.

      • feb/march isnt that long away…..

a couple of months, that and the next intel cpu gen,..

        • You sure feb/march?

        • +2

nope, but i can keep telling my self that to make the pain of missing out on this one go away……

        • Dang you get my hope up too much :D. Just Miss.Awesome.Deal :(

So, is this enough if I just want to play Civ 4/5 and maybe UFO: Enemy Unknown?

    • +3

It would've been more than enough

    • +1

Why do people ask questions like this: Is a top of the line, current generation graphics card enough to play games? Who would publish a game that couldn't be played on it?

      • +3

Because not everyone keeps a list of 'top of the line, current generation graphics cards' in their Dragonball Z wallet for quick reference - and so when they see something on sale for what looks like a reasonable price, they spend five seconds asking more knowledgeable people whether it will fit their needs rather than just blindly clicking buy and hoping it works out for the best.

Was it really that difficult to figure out? Poor lil guy.

        • +2

Actually I think he has a point, not disagreeing with you entirely of course but if you were laying 350+ dollars down on a video card these days - you could almost automatically assume/intuitively guess that it will run most new software well. Companies do want to sell their games. And if you wanted to know exactly how well - research is your friend, instead of purely relying on answers from others.

…just got irritated by seeing ''Poor lil guy".

  • Bitcoin mining?

    • Think you've missed the boat on GPU mining. Those crazy new ASIC miners will wipe the floor with this on $ and power per coin

This was a great deal! Haha just spent $230 on a 7870 myself with no never settle last week. I love the way technology makes my investments look like shit only a week later.

  • Sold out! Dang.

  • Sold out, sad

  • PC parts always with good price in VIC, but not in NSW

  • 24hr deal? Gone by the time I became a member.

    • +10

      Welcome to OZB then…

  • Amazing buy if you got one!

  • Theres gotta be another sale sometime >_<!
One in perth would be even better haha

MLN Customer Service is terrible… i remember they sold me a display model stating it Brand New..i found out because they had a MLN security page which didn't let me enter the windows.so They werent ready to replace or refund it.
Beware of these small Stores…i personally prefer bigger chains easy to deal when you buying expensive stuff.

    • +2

Ricky87au we only sell brand new, unopened boxes for all of our products.
Display models are never sold without the customer agreeing to it first and being made aware that what they are purchasing was on display.
Every product we sell is brand new and unopened - unless otherwise clearly stated it was on display.

We actually make up for 14% of all notebook computer sales in Victoria, so I would hardly call us small and when you consider JB and Harvey Norman have 400+ and 200 + stores, pound for pound we are by far number one, and as an independent Australian retailer we are clearly number one in the independent retail category for mobile computing.

If for any reason you believe what you have purchased has been opened and you did not agree to this for any reason, please return whatever you have purchased for a full refund. Not only is this just bad business, its also illegal. It would make no sense for us to intentionally do this, we sell in excess of 1000 computers a week and we want to ensure our customers do get looked after. To ensure you do not fall between the cracks, please send a documented email via our website with your order/invoice number and details of what has happened so that your case is resolved.

  • I JUST bought this exact card on Monday from PCCG for $429 :(

  • Ozbargy noob here!! Such an amazing feeling walking out the store with 1 of these bad boys yesterday.. It's actually a really good card.. Played far cry 3 on this last night real impressed

  • If you had the price for this card, I'd recommend the Sapphire/MSI/Gigabyte 7950 OC versions, all voltage unlocked, all overclock pretty well, have great cooling, are about $315-330 retail and perform without overclocking NOT FAR off from the 7970.
My Gigabyte 7950 is lucky, I can overclock past what a 7970 overclocks and still keep it cool.
Each to their own of course, but Its solid advice.

If you can afford the 7970 then go for it, if your struggling.. then this^

  • note, new gfx cores/cards to be released after xmas from both amd and nvidia. perhaps by march, just FYI as i expect all these to drop drasticly soon like it has for every previous generation in the past
