    No reason to neg the deal, still a good price. Like any other Beats/headphones deal though, half the comments will just be people arguing about which brand is better.

  The difference from these to beats are that beats were originally Monster, being an already reputable headphone brand before beats (it hasnt hurt them spruiking beats) but now they removed themselves from beats and are still making other headphones. These headphones are god knows what brand.

    monster didnt make headphones before beats afaik which is why they are considered crap. They just subcontracted a "cool" design to the lowest bidder in china. They have no history of research or development other than how to sell $50 headphones for $250.

    Notice how only rappers/clueless actors rock these headphones. Muscians never rock these unless they get paid big bucks.

      Seriously, wtf are you talking about. Monster was, and still is, a very reputable brand. Ever heard of the turbines? Or their iems? Both came out well before beats, and are widely praised as being accurate, clear headphones.

      And you do realise that all headphones are made in China these days. If you want competitive pricing, then that's where you have set up your manufacturing centre.

      Please do some research before sharing your thoughts.

        well before? link? I can find no existence of monster earphones before late 2008 Im not sure thats what you'd call a history.

        Monster turbines were released less than 12 months before beats from what I can find -

        mixed reviews even on release.

        There is a difference between having an established company that brings their manufacturing base to china (everybody) and having no base but you need big production quickly so what you do is basically buy an existing generic chinese company that is used to selling nothing special.

        "Competitive pricing" thats exactly my point!

        If by reputable brand you mean get a base level of at least $50 sounding then sure, but they sure as not charging $50. Sennheiser AT AKG etc all have pricepoints lower than this so if thats what you want to compare them to…. go ahead.

        @pin4e Turbine pro's are a favourite but they are $399

      You serious? My gosh I just saw them. I'm glad I only just found out. Would have skitz it when released back then :). Ok one direction headsets then, please say no.

      BTW I personally wouldn't go for these headsets. $150 to $99. How "gracious"… Please, that price and up I'll go straight to the big boys: Grado, Sennheiser, Shure, Audio Technica, AKG, Denon, Bowers and Wilkins.
