I've been lying about being sick at streetfighter alpha for years I'm going to have to get training before my kids are old enough to play
Bought last time it was on sale.
Nice to have games I can actually defeat my teenage kids at 😂
Still the only game I can beat my kids at. This and Super Tecmo Bowl.
If there's ever been a game that was meant for the Switch, this is it.
Except the whole lack of a proper D-pad thing on joycons
That’s what the pro controller is for
And the Switch's SNES controller!
Must. not. buy. Will get told off by wife for buying a fighting game with a 3 and 7yo at home
Give her a tiger uppercut. Buy it. I did.
Give her a tiger uppercut.
24-play first
the get down to the tiger going uppercutting ;)
Hand-eye coordination, reflex, memory… all highly valuable early education skills. 😉
12 games, that's 4 each! Best dad
Had-you-Ken?
You-Ken.
Sure-you-Ken.Here's what they were apparently saying in the game, interesting
https://youtu.be/Fv1xHPk7fqE?si=pVeQwHCYgXt3IfraSo is it worth getting this on Switch? I don't game that much but good for short sessions.
Already have it on all platforms (purchased on xbox at release, the rest purchased during sales over the years).
I can say that I've been able to get double perfect rounds in every match of every game (internet nerd flex lol)
What difficulty?
Default :( :P
I'm pretty nifty on max difficulty though
Who's your favourite character?
@rodgyramjet: Ken
But I was pretty good with Blanka, E.Honda and Guile back in the day.
Funnily enough I didn't really use Zangief much…. it wasn't until I started using him in SF IV that I retrospectively selected him more when I went back to SF 2.
Does anyone know if this has Zero 2 Alpha?
"Street Fighter Alpha 2, known as Street Fighter Zero 2 in Japan, Asia, South America, and Oceania"
Source:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_Fighter_Alpha_2Street Fighter Alpha 2 is included, there does not seem to be a way to swap to the Japanese ROM as best I can tell.
Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha is a littler different, my friend.
In that it does not exist?
@mrjaytee: It's only in the next paragraph that you referenced. "Capcom also released an updated version of Zero 2 titled Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha in Japan, Asia, and South America, which features all the additional characters from Alpha 2, as well as other changes to the game."
@chicky682: I helped out in an arcade each week, that had both versions, there were differences but I'd be hard pressed to remember what they were 25 years later.
Great game. Will buy. Can I ask if I have to buy an online membership?
Great question and now I’m curious too
Yeah, you'll need one for online but switch is by and large wifi warriors so be realistic about lag/netcode issues.
Thanks. We only need the membership for online game not local game?
You could just get the online membership for a while to try and play the free emulators.
I'm pretty sure anything you purchase you get to keep even after you cancel the online membership.
Still thinking about this one, may cop.
Thanks, so I can play this game locally without an online membership?
Yup
Thanks OP. Boys played this on a console in the byd dealership and loved it. Looking forward to playing it with them.
It's on sale for this price pretty regularly: https://www.dekudeals.com/items/street-fighter-30th-annivers…
This or just grab the best from the Capcom Arcade Collection? They are all about a $1.xx at the moment.
But what are the best?
Had a quick go, was more of a MK fan.
People are saying the D-pad is better but some moves are 'half a joystic rotation' etc, any tips - that implies you should use the mushroom (joystick) controller?
Started playing this afternoon with my son who's 9yo after he showed some interest in older video games and characters (from Super Smash Bros). The great thing about this version aside that I'm not putting in coins every 5 minutes and the combos are available to view in the menu for those of us that have forgotten them.
