Holy moly has the RRP for these always been $400?!

Hold, 3rd gen is coming soon

    • Purchased these for the wife since she needs them now, but I'm holding out for the 3rd gen to replace my lightning 2nd Gen.

But the earliest we could even imagine a 3rd gen is May. More realistically is September IF they release it this year.

      • I say maybe December before we see them on discount

ok come around and sing to me in the meantime

    • Been hodling my first gen pros for 3rd.

Thank you! Gonna pop over to officeworks to ask to price beat now. Desperately need airpods as i ran over one bud last week and i use them to prevent tinnitus when riding <3

    • Interesting use case!
Do they help with wind noise at all?

      • For me, yep!!!! I’m constantly trying different ways to protect me hearing and i find the airpods + neck gaiter makes the biggest diff!

      Why not foam plugs?
Using noise to mask tinnitus isn't really preventing it.
The foam plugs will do a better job and cheaper too. Unless you're taking calls/listening to music. Then a cardo/sena would be better because it's not in your ear and blocking out the surrounding chaos.

IMO, foam plugs are the only thing that prevents wind noise.

      • they didn't mention wind noise at all though?

Tinnitus is the perception of sound when there is no external source

        foam plugs won't do anything

Tried foam. Prefer airpods. And yes, i am putting the foam plugs in properly ha

        • Whatever works for you bud. As long S you don't get tinnitus. I misread your post and assumed your already had it, so were trying to deal with it.

          prevent tinnitus when riding

          And

they didn't mention wind noise at all though?

Presuming old mate above doesn't ride, like we do.

          • @Lord Ra: oh i'm starting to develop it already!!! i just don't want it to get worse LOL

            • @illiterate: Okay, so then you want to keep the harsh peaks down, and keep the decibels down also. I hope it doesn't get worse for you.
I find mine works with the cardio + foam plugs. The foam blocks out high db noises including the wind noise and the audio feed can be low/switched off and I won't be impacted by the wind noise.

              • @Lord Ra: ahhh thanks for that. i've tried various plugs, but think i prefer the airpods. i'll give the foam plugs another shot following your feedback :)

                • @illiterate: Maybe you're not inserting them in correctly? You don't need top end ones, just the ones construction workers use, cheap and cheerful, I just throw them away each week. Unless you clean your ears before putting them on, which is too much work. I also find that water removes their elasticity, so I can't wash them either. :(

Hasn’t it been sub or 300 flat?

    • Yep. I got them for $273 from a recent deal.

  • Would OfficeWorks Price match without a Costco membership?

    • Yes they do, just open CostCo website on your phone and make sure it's in stock.

    • I called to do a price match for a Galaxy Watch over the phone with Officeworks just before Christmas and they didn't ask if I was a Costco member - I am, but they didn't ask.

      So I can recommend calling.

  • No deal. $300 multiple times.
Just hold for the new pros. Or get the 4 to tide you over for cheaper.

  • Or 350 at jb less a $10 welcome voucher and use discounted gift cards. Makes it cheaper…
