EB Games - Motorola Xoom 2 Android Tablet 32GB 3G $298

90

This seems like a pretty good deal, EB Games says its a saving of $250 (take their word for it or not)

Some sites show its for around $440
so $298.00 seems pretty good.

  • Is it any good?

    Seems almost a year old.

  • Real saving is about $100, cheapest I could find on Google shopping is $370

  • The first Motorola XOOM was better.

The Motorola XOOM 2 has the same specs but uses cheaper components to cut manufacturing costs.

There are still a lot of original XOOM's around if you look, generally around the same price but sometimes lower if you are lucky.

They are a awesome tablet but it was too big for me (reading in bed) so I downsized to a Nexus 7.

I still love the XOOM but I couldn't keep both.

my god, it's better than the xoom 1? That's not saying much. I had the xoom 1, wouldn't want to touch it again

      • I don't think you understood what I wrote.

The original XOOM has better construction and parts, the XOOM 2 is identical as far as hardware and software goes.

What was wrong with your XOOM? Mine was able to play all the Tegra 2 games on the highest settings without any problems at all. It had 32GB of internal storage and expandable up to 32GB more. I'm not sure why anyone would say they wouldn't touch it because its a very good tablet. Although mine was the WiFi only model, I didn't need to pay extra for 3G that I wouldn't use. They were also about $800 when new last year and I got mine for around $400-450 in April. This was a flagship tablet and something every other company was trying to compete with at the time.

Also being a GED (Google Experience Device) it should always have the latest updates just like the Nexus 7 or Nexus phones.

Xoom 2 has better gpu and cpu, which makes quite a difference.

(I have the Asus Transformer TF101)

I wouldn't buy a tablet from eb games. Mine was a display model which was repacked.

    • Yeah it seems like its a bit of hit and miss with tablets from eb, even though it says 'new' they send off demos as well. The box seals on the tablet i bought from their previous sale were broken.

      • actually some received sealed item, some received demo/used. it really depends on their stock, they will sending out demo while they dont have any more new stock.

        • I didnt head of anyone receiving a refurbished or display xoom2 in that deal. Majority of Tab 7.7's were however.

  • Another user who got an opened tablet box, whats more mine was dead on arrival too.

As long as you are going to be happy with an ex demo (really just a bashed up box, not a used tablet) then go for it.

  • Not only was it "floating" around the sent box mine was used and went on holiday around Australia and New Zealand with Pictures and apps.
I also got a special Optioned Broken Charger plug and no usb cable!!

I dont want my money back I want the tablet so I dont have any choice but to keep it and buy a cheapy ebay charger as I dont think EBGames gives a stuff.

  • Bought a Toshiba AT100 from them December 8, have still yet to receive it. Got a call around Dec 15th saying they were individually testing stock and half of them were DOA. So that could explain opened boxes also, I guess.
Nevertheless, don't expect this to be a transaction that goes off without a hitch. There may be delays/issues with stock.

I know of 4 people that purchased the Xoom 2 (including myself) and they were all new in box 100%

    • So was mine .. 21/12/2012…. Came in a sealed box… nothing was missing. Kids love it… I need to get 2 more now…

  • How does the Xoom 2 compare to the Toshiba AT100? And does Motorola provide OTA updates of the Android o/s?

Got one (Xoom 2) from these guys the week before Christmas… fast delivery, brand new, unopened box… had a little play so far, but I'm well happy with mine :)

  • It looks very good

  • I bought one too, its pretty cheap and good deal. especially USB connect and HDMI port

  • It's a shame that the Xoom 2 has a locked bootloader. Would have jumped on this if it was unlocked :(

  • Bought one. Great deal.

  • Commenting here so that I can find this post at a later date….trying to compile a list of heavily discounted tablets as research :)

  • Mine was ordered on 29th Dec. Shipped today :D
