        I got the 1250x and its the best electric razor I have used. I'm a 5 o'clock shadow guy too.
        In saying that I have only owned a braun and really old philips so not too much to compare to.
        It's very close to a blade shave and no irritation to my skin.

  I bought an older Norelco with Jet Clean system once. Turns out you have to use their special cleaning fluid, which costs a lot, and supposedly has to be replaced every month. I ended up not using the base.
  Mine was supposed to be water resistant and washable with water, but it was a pain to properly wash. The spring in the hinch started rusting from day one. The blades got blunt quickly, and a proper replacement would have been about $80.
  Shaving with blade and shaving oil now, which is cheaper, faster and better.

  You will get the same shave with 1250, 1280 and 1290 it's just that the finish of the shaver or cleaning systems are different. The 1250 is by far the best value.

  Please forgive me for thinking this looks like an affiliates catalogue rather than a researched and considered deal. The best options on the cheap is the 1150 and of the 3D is the 1250. You can't link them because they've been posted. No deal here.
