Sorry this isn't the X3D, but still a good option for those on the AM4 socket that are wanting to upgrade from something like the 3000 series or the 5600X to something better. It currently sells for $269 on Amazon and you can stack it with 16% cashback at TopCashback for further savings.

It has 8 cores, 16 threads, base clock of 3.4GHz, boost clock of 4.6GHz with a default TDP of 65W. It's still perfectly fine for multi-core tasks and gaming.

  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

Hey clear, thanks for the post!

Ill keep an eye out on Ozb for one of the x3d CPUs. I would have gone to a new gen, but the NVIDIA cards are such a let down for what was expected imo. My old Ryzen 2600 is the bottleneck in my system so I'll change that out, and hopefully get a few years and hopefully get something when it all just falls too far behind.

I'll see what AMD cards are like when more tests come out soon too.

The upcoming AMD cards seem promising. Their performance should be about the same as the 5070 Ti while being $150 (USD) below the 5070 Ti MSRP. However, all the NVIDIA cards have risen in price due to stock issues, but AMD 'should' not face the same problem, at least not for a while.

Yeah I'm hoping team red bring the goods this round. A CPU update is probably not a bad thing

I wonder if the X3Ds are going to return to a lower price. I hope it isn't stuck at a high price permanently due to ending stock.

There needs to be stock for them to go on sale.

  • Worth the update from a 3600? Or just wait for 5700x3d to come back down

    • I missed the boat for the 5700x3D sales last year, so I jumped on it for $350, needed the upgrade to be compatible with the new 9070xt. Didn’t want to miss out just like the 5800x3D. I weighed out the difference in price to go to AM5, still saving money overall, keeps me in the game for a couple years maybe AM6 is the next upgrade.

    • 5700x3d has the similar performance like 9600X based on the review test. The cost is much more expensive if I need to upgrade it to 9600x. I played FC25 on PC with 7900xt but still get very lagging at some time.

  • If you're not gaming 5700x is marginally faster than 5700x3D, not to mention much cheaper

    • True, but if they are gaming, and doing so on a budget and go for an intel B580 card, then the 5700X will be significantly slower in some games than the 5700X3D (assuming the 5700X behaves much like a 5600 in gaming)

If they're using Nvidia or AMD cards then no such worries, and the 5700X is plenty for most gamers.

    • I got the 5700x3D last time. No issues.

Having both, I can confirm that for everyday app use with PBO and XMP the X feels faster, if only by a small margin.
