    Too Expansive.

    Thats a net loss

Can't see any value in that all. Why post it.

  • How do you calculate inflation on boost sims? I get negative numbers. (New price - old price)/old price.

    • You are doing it wrong….old price is a negative number, so when you subtract a negative, the double negative makes it positive.

      • Lol genius, do the whole thing before you comment.

        • Haha, you are right…my morning coffee hadn't kicked in yet!

Great price. The days of making money for these Boost SIM deals are over. Show me a mobile deal that is better than this for 28-30 days? There has not been any this good in a long while. And for anyone wondering, my experience recently with Cashrewards and Boost is that you can transfer out anytime and still get the cashback.

  • +1

Don't need to make a profit just break even is fine for me! :(

  • +2

you can still make profit by using the number to create new accounts that require a unique mobile number

    • exactly. more than get my money back just signing up for doordash and menulog!

Tips: using this new number to sign up shopback and you can get 100% cash back on the first $30 gift cards + refer friend bouns, that's quite a lot profit out of Shopback along

  • Hoping TopCashback soon might be able to lift the cashback to a nice round $10. I do need a new one-month SIM.

    • Hope so. You just missed TCB Boost offer for $2 that ended yesterday (from 25th Feb).

      • I was overseas and couldn't get the transaction to go through at Boost's end.

      • With TCB, you need to be with them for 90 days or till the cashback is confirmed unlike cash rewards where you get the cashback even if you port out before cashback is confirmed

        • Telstra/Boost added the new term mid last year and applies to all cashback sites but only TopCashback has updated their T&Cs. Cashrewards acknowledged the new term when asked but didn't include in their T&Cs.

          From Cashrewards:

If you port out somewhere else before the cashback is paid, it might not be eligible for cashback. I highly suggest to wait for the cashback.

However Telstra/Boost don't appear to check thoroughly and have also randomly approved the cashback when the terms are not followed.

          • +1

@trixieb: Someone just reported above that theirs was approved. And since it’s not listed in the terms and conditions, can always dispute with customer care to honour

          • @trixieb: Also, do you know if it’s just Boost/Telstra or is this rule of remaining active till cashback is paid is applied to other providers as well ?

            • @SydOzber: Applies to Telstra/Boost only and not the others. You can let the SIM expire but not port out until cashback is paid.
TopCashback is the only site to state the new Telstra/Boost term.
As you mentioned, if cashback is rejected at Cashrewards, you can dispute that it's not listed in the T&Cs.

        • Do you? I get a new number/sim every month, so no porting out. Its still active so should be ok I hope?

          • +1

@drspy00: That will be fine. Cashback is eligible when you activate within 30 days and let the SIM/number expire. Your number will be active with Boost for 6 months without recharging.

  • Does anyone know if you purchase this physical sim and change it to an esim, does the cash back still count?

    • Yes. Activate the physical SIM, then convert to eSIM.

  • Are the days of 100% cashback really over?

    Buy or hold for this?

These are great for road trips.

I'm normally on Optus or Voda, as I live in a metro area.

But with one one of these cheap Boost Mobile sims, I can chuck it into a mobile router (same name WiFi network, same password), power it over a USB-C cigarette lighter adapter, and everyone in the car has pretty darn good reception as we're travelling regionally.

    • Thanks for the tip.

    • mobile router suggestions?

      • I got a couple of cheap Netgear Nighthawk M1 routers from Facebook Marketplace. Another suggestion is that when you're running them in the car, keep the battery out of the unit while running it off of USB-C, keeps it cooler.

And make sure to name the hotspot the same as your home location, so everything just works. But just before you get home, add an "x" or something to the end of the network name so it doesn't conflict with your home network.

  • The is still there. Not expired

    • Thanks. Updated with new expiry 17 Mar.

  • Basic question but it's been years since I've gone down the prepaid route, but I've been with Telstra post paid plan with my Pixel 5 and our account has NBN internet included.

If I was to buy this sim and port it over, would this impact our internet service? Just generally as not sure if it's linked anymore or the like. I'm just trying to minimise any hassle (we have a 5 month old and our phone reception at home is poor, so if internet goes down, it's not the best situation).

  • Does anyone know if this one is ok to port out before the cashback is confirmed? My 12 month More $20 discount is coming to an end next month so will need to port out and port back in to receive the $20 discount for another 12 months with More. I note the comments in the TCB says this will invalidate cashback but wondering if ok to do with Cashrewards

    • I have the same question. By the looks of it it is not a condition with Cashrewards but is with TCB. I say do it and if they decline your cashback complain. Let us know how you go
