AU$ based on current Mastercard rate, GST inclusive and doesn't stack with cashback.

To enable Google Play, go to Settings > App Management > 3 dots top right > Google Basic Services > Turn on.
Then download Google Play from the Application Center or sideload an apk yourself. If the English characters and spacing look off you can change the font to fix the issue, as shown here.

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

  • Trying to find out if Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2025 has the dual audio feature to allow 2 unique bluetooth headsets to be connected at same time with audio output to both IE watching a movie with partner on the plane.

Really struggling…. might not be a thing and a adaptor required?

Also i dont suppose its suppose to have a usb-c wired headset connected and a bluetooth headset connected with audio out to both at the same time?

  • What's the status of peoples tablet tracking? Mine updated to :- 'Your package arrived at airport. Awaiting transit' on the 20/03 and nothing since then. A case from a different seller has updated 3 times since.

  • I got the 12gb ram version talked about above. The wifi is brutally slow. I can stream 4k on my xiaomi mi pad 5 easily, but this tablet struggles with constant buffering and stalling. Same wifi ssid. Nothing different at my unifi end. No other apps open. Tried on both a mixed 2/5ghz ssid and a pure 5ghz one.

Also for some reason a lot of apps are putting a huge space after every apostrophe. Eg in FB messenger if someone writes "it's a shame", it displays as "it' s a shame". It's not people making typos. It's every instance of an apostrophe in that app. Seems to be fine in firefox. Is there a system font/language pack or something that can fix that?

Font issue already addressed in the deal

      • so you choose english in setup, but then need to select a specific mandarin font in the tablet settings themselves?

i've read the link you posted but im still confused… help appreciated.

Ok. Found it, cheers. It's https://imgur.com/a/HPgwAQ5

For others' future reference, it is NOT in the "featured" section that i just spent 5 minutes trawling and scrolling up to load every page of fonts. It was in the "mine" tab :) hopefully that saves someone else 5 mins!

          much appreciated :)

Regarding the wifi issue, by any chance it's due to WIFI encryption mode? Which is mentioned here https://www.reddit.com/r/androidtablets/comments/1imgwoj/com…

I am interested in getting this tablet model, but only if it's not problematic. If it fixed your WIFI issue, can you reply back? Thanks

      • hmm. My unifi setup didn't have aes or tkip. just wpa personal or wpa enterprise (and some others). WPA enterprise needed radius profiles and vlan tagging so not going to bother with that. I did have enable wpa3 and wpa3 transition mode as options, and something about WPA2 in that transition mode. i have turned those on, will give it a test.

      • Ok i just streamed a 4k movie trailer in newpipe app and smooth as silk!

  • Got one of these from the last deal, it doesn't seem to charge if I use a USB-A -> USB-C cable…only works on a c-c cable.
    Anyone else had this problem?

Even cheaper now at USD $191.18 with $20 off code or $209.78 for 256gb version with $30 off code

    • Price keeps changing… I am seeing some deals with Buy it now options and no add to cart, a little cheaper. Random.

      • If you collect the unique $30 of $150 coupon that just popped up today, you can get it for $181, assuming there isn't another price reduction.

        • Yeah prices are confusing me, when I check the next day, I can never get the price I got yesterday. Thanks.

  • Tablet, official case, official pen and matte screen film for just about $400 aud, tablet arrived today and is all set up about 45 minutes later. I don't love side-loading google play, but once that was done, and with a custom launcher (which I would have used anyways), it works basically like stock android would. I like that it came with a 45w fast charger, and I didn't even realize when I bought it that it had an SD card slot.

First impressions is that this is a CRACKING deal.

The link to 'how to change the font to fix spacing issues' doesn't link to the fix anymore, can someone re-post how exactly to change the system font so some of the spacing isn' t broken?

    • Go to Settings > Personal Customization, scroll down to Font

Select "Mine" on the bottom tab, and then select the other option available.

What launcher are you using? 45W charger is nice, Aussie compatible pins would have been even better.

Agree though, it's been a really good experience setting it up.

      • Thanks. Weird that searching settings for font doesn't show that. Trying Olauncher and liking it, though I'll probably eventually end up with nova as I do with most tablets I've had.

  • Tab arrived today 😃

same. display nice. couldn't work out how to get GPS at first. but now all good. wish it could lose a bit more chineseness though.

      • +2

I was able to remove the Chineseness, did you?

        • Connect to Wi-Fi.
        • Update system Twice. Settings > About Tablet > System Update
        • Turn on Google Services. Settings > Apps > Google Basic Services (at the bottom of the screen) > Activate 'Google Basic Services'
        • Download Google Play Store from their App Store, use a USB C stick, or use their Internet Browser and download from a website (what I did, I think Softsonic).
        • Once installed, login to Google Services.
        • Start with Gboard to replace its keyboard.
        • Get all the Google services you want, I got a bunch.
        • Get a new UI, I use Nova Launcher because I bought it 10+ years ago and they still update, probably better ones out there, but it is snappy.
        • Set new UI to be the default.
        • Disable and uninstall all the Chinese apps.
        • I couldn't uninstall or disable their UI, so I set all the permissions to deny, and battery usage to restricted so it wouldn't consume resources.

System is now Westernized and snappy. Ask me any questions and let me know what UI you go with.

        • I have checked, Smart Launched 6 - Home Screen looks like a decent UI and its free to try.

        • Very good guide. Don't seem to be able to remove their app store.

          • @bogstation: Same, but I'm content with disabled. Since this is just the Chinese version of the Lenovo Idea Pad Pro, I was hoping someone would figure out how to flash that global ROM onto this Chinese version at some point

            • @FabMan: any tips on how to easily add mp4 files onto the tablet and how to watch etc…. tried usb-c from PC to laptop but it doesnt allow you to copy files in via windows explorer

i've spent a good hour tonight and havent got far with getting the tablet setup. Tried using Microsoft launcher and Nova but no app icons would appear on the homepage or screens and only way to access anything was via the search.

Is there a way to change the launcher from a settings area (rather from the app itself)?

I deleted a bunch of apps that looked like zui.calendar.overlay.avengers etc and now im wondering if i messed something and need to wipe and start again

              really struggling here

              • +1

@chriskq: You definitely don't need the ZUI calendar overlay things, or their UI if you get your own. I am now sticking with Smart Launcher 6 for my UI.

I installed Lenovo (Motorola) Smart Connect on both devices. For Tablet from the Google Play Store, from Laptop, I used the Windows Store. Allows me to use it as a second screen, but I also have access to files on the device. I transferred MP4 to the Tablet and watched an MP4 with VLC Media Player.

                • +1

@FabMan: Oh wow - ok this beats my crappy workaround of uploading to google drive on my PC and then downloading from google drive on the tablet.

really appreciate the reply - i'm keen to get video transfer sorted first, then will tackle the launcher situation. I ended up doing a factory reset and yet to try a new launcher.

                  Update to follow :)

                • +1

@FabMan: Thanks again! Update: Smart connect worked a treat to transfer music/movies

I had to spend a bit of time customising app homepage layout etc (and removing the page 2 of ad widgets) but Smart Launcher free is now looking pretty good

VLC app plays the mkv files which is nice.

My last major thing i need to sort out, is if a usb-c to 2 x 3.5mm jack will work for the tablet. IE 2 people can watch a movie together on a plane - if you have any ideas that would be much appreciated.

                  • +1

@chriskq: Glad to read Smart Connect and Smart Launcher works for you.

No idea about the USB to 2 x 3.5mm. Can't you get a USB to 3.5mm, then get a 3.5mm splitter?

                    • +1

@FabMan: good shout, i already have a 3.5mm splitter - i just figured 'less' connections is usually a good thing.

once i test out ill try and remember to reply.
