Permanently or just till they dry out?
In my experience, it lasts until it dries out. Whenever I have the issue, I just put silica gel packets in the earcups for a few hours/overnight and it solves the problem :0
I get hella sweaty in these multiple times per week and I haven't had this issue.
Good to know I'm not the only one with this issue
I don't understand people who run in big headphones like these, particularly on busy paths that also have lots of bikes. But I see it all the time. I bet they have NC switched on also.

I got a refurb pair of XM3's a few years ago, they looked brand new. Wear them mowing the lawn and using tools in the shed.
Tbh I think they’re seconds (damaged box etc) rather than being refurbished/used. My XM4s were listed as such but looked and felt brand new!
Can vouch these are pretty much like brand new. Bought 2 refurb from same seller months ago. Perfect and still working fine.

I purchased these a while back ago for my flight. Same kind of deal for refurbs. Mine came in really good condition almost excellent. But could tell my ear pads were used a bit.
I bought WH1000XM4 and XM5 refurb headphones in the past. They looked almost new and no sign of use on the ear pads.

Out of curiosity which headphones are great for gym? I have xm3 and they're starting to give out
What do you mean by 'give out'? And what do you want in headphones at the gym? Obviously you don't mind 'over ear' cans - is noise cancelling important? Is tight/firm fit important? Do you mind if touch controls are sensitive? How important is sound quality?
My headphones now has issues where it randomly pauses and plays incessantly. Not fixated on over-ear headphones, but want something that has great noise cancelling so I could hear nothing but my music. I do a lot of cardio and would prefer something that stays put. Have an android phone, and so would prefer that works with that.
From rtings these have amongst the best ANC but someone else said when sweaty can have some issues.
The Bose are a bit better but also $499

I think this deal would be perfect for you. Considering a second hand pair of WH-XM3s - a rock solid pair with excellent noise cancelling - is $200-$250 AUD delivered, this is terrific.

They are great but never sweat in them, it will screw up the noise cancelling and start screaming high pitch noises in your ears.
