I have the Jan 2009 copy of MacWorld (U.S.) in front of me, (last copy from doing this previously).
So I would imagine these Subs would commence with Feb '09 copy.
Odd thing is that these are now being dispatched to Australian addresses from France.
So, I'm not asking why or how etc.
I thought that this deal couldn't be true until I read your comment.

I had a look to see when I received the email but it looks like I deleted it so I can't help you there I'm afraid.
However, I did come home today and my first issue was sitting there in my mailbox! I'm in Sydney, so 'd give it to maybe Monday and then chase it up.

Received first edition (March) yesterday. No emails or other communication prior to that.
I got mine. Jeez, this thing is a lot thinner than the last time I got a US Mac mag. and the content reminds me why magazines are a dead loss. It's soooo old. Something to read on the dunny in -4 C at least (outside dunny in Tas).
