FYI, research how much are replacement batteries. Lesson learnt for me. I got the Xiaomi Mi G9 in a past deal and it lasted around 2 months and battery gave up. Replacement battery over $100 for it…. No thanks. I had 2 X 12 yr old Dyson's lasting only a minute on original batteries, found replacement batteries for $20 or so each and sticking with these now.
My dreame handheld from 2018 is still going strong today. YMMV.
I have this and probably wouldn’t recommend.
Bought to replace/support a dying Xiaomi G10 thinking this would be similar. It’s very cheaply made, suction is so so, no battery level indicator.
For $199 it’s about as good as you get these days I guess, but I’m pretty underwhelmed compared to the 4 year old Xiaomi that was ~$260ish. Absolutely not at $399.
Hard to find meaningful comparisons. On face value im not sure this is really much better than an old Dreame v9.

lol, wrong vacuum cleaner
The Dreame U20 competes with Dyson's cordless stick vacuums, offering similar portability and cleaning flexibility at a lower price point. Below is a comparison of the Dreame U20 against popular Dyson models such as the Dyson V8, Dyson V10, and Dyson V15 Detect.

4.4kg is freaking heavy
@Sr1993e: It's not 4.4 kgs - the entire package is ~5 kgs.
The vacuum itself is 1.6kg or something.
It's just the stupid chat GPT summary that got it brutally wrong.
@Droz: The information is inconsistent across several websites, but the general consensus is that the weight is 4.4kg.
Even the AliExpress (from a French seller) listing specifies 4.4kg
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007765565728.html
But yeah, seems odd to be very close to the entire package weight
Thanks, but no V9 there. The fact they are changing the metric for suction power implies its mostly just marketing gibberish beyond battery/run time improvements.
Any real reason to go with this vacuum over this one that is cheaper? https://www.amazon.com.au/Cordless-Cleaner-Anti-Tangle-Light…
No name product vs xiaomi product
I've had the Dreame V9 for a bit over 4 years and the plastic mount for the various attachments gets very sloppy, which makes the long pipe annoying to place. The battery doesn't last very long anymore and the internals seem to have worn quite a bit.
The lack of a metal mount suggests that they don't expect these to handle well for a long time, unless they've greatly improved their materials in the newer models.
However, it's been ultra convenient compared to bulkier alternatives, which means you'll use it more often.
I've had the Dreame V9 for a bit over 4 years
It's had a good run - these are not your Miele corded vacuums of old that will last three generations.
I wouldn't bank on any of these cordless vacuums lasting for more than a few years. Even if you replace the batteries, other things just start breaking (like you're pointing out) - materials and build quality are just not that great, and they're really just made to be disposable.
Dreame V9 was good at first. Battery only lasted about 2 minutes on high setting though. But most of the time, the medium setting was fine. Suction rapidly weakened over the first year, and it seemed to mainly rely on its rollers to catch the dust and roll into the pipe rather than on strong suction. Battery held out for about 3 years, although over that period the duration of use dropped massively, until after 3 years, it only lasted for about 2 or 3 minutes of use with very low suction.
In comparison, the mid-range Lublulu that I have now (cost about $160), has slightly stronger suction and battery lasts longer, but it feels lower quality due to the type of plastic used and build quality, and the roller is nowhere near as good as the Dreame V9, so in the end it actually doesn't seem to pick up as much dust. However, I suspect a lot of the apparent dust in the container caught by the Dreame V9 was actually carpet threads that the stronger roller pulled up.
Cordless vacuums run on around 20V so they produce nowhere near as much suction as a 240V mains powered one. The powered motor head does most of the work through agitation, so it's especially important to remove tangles and debris stuck in the roller head on a regular basis.
Also, cleaning the pre-motor filter, post-motor filter and cyclonic chamber on a regular basis helps maintain suction.
Cordless vacs are convenient but this is the compromise.
I have Dreame V9, love it
No multicyclonic filtration system. No thanks.
Is this the one that had really bad comments from.people here because it breaks very easily or different model
Clean deal
thanks for your support mate
Seems to be avaliable again fro $199 with no coupon code. Managed to score one after my cheap Kambrook dustbuster died after 7 years of service. Why not treat myself to a stick vacuum.
Did you get it? How do you feel about it? Is it good? Thanks.
I love it. It's really lightweight and easy to use. I actually use it more than my main vacuum now. The blue UV light is great for finding areas that need cleaning. For the price I paid, I was surprised that the extension wand is made of metal. The only thing to keep in mind is that when you empty the bin, you need to close the lid precisely; otherwise, the bin won’t attach to the machine correctly.
Great! Thanks. Ordered the same one from Amazon.
Thx anyone got this and recommend?
