I looked the VXE R1 up on aliexpress and it's a completely different style to this mouse so i don't see how it's relevant.
If the shape is what you're looking for the Keychron M7 and Mchose G7 both have essentially the same shape, wireless and significantly lighter.
I agree with OP, very little reason to get heavy, wired and expensive mice.
The G502's modifier key can be a deal breaker for power users that find a use for it. I don't think competitors have an equivalent.
The weight of the wired G502X is 89g which is a lot lighter than this version but probably still too heavy for those wanting lighter mice. I used the wired version cause it's lighter and the wire isn't annoying enough to me.
I agree that the rubber grips wear down. Happened on all three of my G502 mices. Recently discovered that Aliexpress sells G502X grip tapes and I got one and stuck it on the left and right rubberized sides. It should prevent it from happening but time will tell how long the grip tape lasts before it peels off, etc and how annoying reapplying it will be.
Nothing wrong with wired mice in 2025, maybe not the G502 but there are plenty of good wired mice (Endgame Gear XM2/OP1 8K, Deathadder V3 wired)
Know of any other mice with a tilt wheel? That's the only feature that's stopped me replacing my g502.
G502 is too heavy… the mouse is good tho..
FYI. This will be grey import stock.
Or worse…grey import so they can't trace it being genuine or fakes.
we need mx master 4
Why not mx master 999
id rather 69
Then why'd you post it?
