@mickeyjuiceman: The high quality VTech Driver Wheel is so much cheaper and I don't see much of a difference either. They should charge 95% less for this! what the hell?

@S2: there's even a picture of Dyl in the bottom right hand corner of the box!

        • have you thought about taking an eye test?

    • +1

You are talking about an entirely different product.

    • bugatti got 4 wheels as well, why the hell it is 400x more expensive than my hyundai !

  • +2

idk when they raised the price but these are stupidly expensive now.

11 months ago i paid $1784 for both the playstation wheelbase and pedals now the same is $2398

    • Same, the wheelbases seem to have gone up by $300 since then, and around that time there was an extra discount where if you bought the wheelbase and pedals together you got 15% off.

If this is what you want then maybe the price has come down but I'd seriously consider alternatives. This is a great piece of kit however Logitech have been dragged their feet on this tech for years. Almost no wheels for this. I'd seriously consider Moza, simucube, fanatec, asetek alternatives over this wheelbase as ~11nm direct drive alternatives. Obviously this is completely unrelated to their g920, G29 entry range.

this one is PS5 compatible which makes all the diff to me

i feel like there's a big hole in the market from the G29 to this

the G29 family is just too old now and really what's the successor that isnt $1,000 plus???

      • +2

As long as you get the right wheelbase it is, so not at the price listed here.

PS compatibility comes from a chip in the wheelbase.
Xbox compatibility comes from a chip in the steering wheel.

The belt-driven Thrustmasters and Fanatec's GT DD Pro are between the G29/G920/G923 and this when it comes to consoles.

        • Thrustmaster T598
          $899

This newly released DD is the cheapest playstation compatible DD wheel available right now.

          • @Axelstrife: Neat, I hadn't seen that one, only their T818.

Will be interesting to see what the load cell pedal will cost extra.

      • You're right. It's a huge gap. A Moza 3 or 5nm wheel would better but not much. 8nm wheelbases would be your best bet for the in between. E.g fanatec csl DD. Personally.. if you're into it 11nm is a pretty good level though, you might need to upgrade in a few years once you get a taste, if anything you might want more… Depends how much you want to invest in your hobbies and how much you get out of it. 😏

      • This isnt PS5 compatible,l this is the PC only version.
        PS5 version is $1700

  • I have always wanted to get a nice Racing Sim going bit the price was always expensive. I've had a few entry level Logitech wheels like the G920 and G29 and its not bad but its not good.

Now my kid wants one so I'm considering forking out a bit more due to it not just being me using it occasionally.. would this be a good option or is there another setup I should look at. Pc or Xbox compatible is all I need. Would love a hydrologic setup but not that rich yet lol

You're welcome to try mine out, I'm in Box Hill, VIC. I spent about $3K on a rig and Logitech G Pro setup. I too had shelved the idea until my son said he was keen as well.

      • haha sad that we don't buy it for ourselves but as soon as our kid asks we don't make excuses hahahaha. Tx for the offer, I might take you up on it. I'm in Berwick so not that far. But overall, are you happy with it?

        • +3

Let me know. I'm around throughout most of the school holidays and my kids are away so we won't be fighting for it.

Yeah it's awesome, it's getting a lot of use daily, I've had family and friends all have a go and they're all blown away. I haven't had much experience with the cheaper options out there but I knew it wouldn't be good enough for what I wanted. Even my Mum when she last visited wanted to have a daily session. Next hurdle is my Dad who is vehemently anti-video game but also is a big car nut. I'm interested to see which of his biases wins out.

          • @deventer: a stranger over your house?

            • @ilove: wholesome but wild at the same time T.T

              • @dukeGR4: Some people like to engage with society……..weirdos

Now, back to marketplace to look at Thrustmasters I can't afford for the rig sitting in my garage……
