429 @ kogan. Plus whatever discount code u can scrounge.

    • +2

Yeah I saw that one but said it was refurbished. These looked to be new.

    • +4

      Except these are new?

      Kogan:
      Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G 128GB Grey - Good - Refurbished

      • +1

I'm not sure. Unless I am looking at the wrong one but even yours says refurbished right there

        • No I meant the Optus ones will be new
          Kogan are refurbished

          • +1

@Tiggrrrrr: Oh right!! Haha I read your comment completely wrong sorry.

  • Is it actually 5g model? or just wifi?

  • Does not look like a 5G one.

    • Oh it does state it on the top left in the page.

      • +4

Asked chat and they said it is 5G model.

        Ordered one and lets see.

        • +2

          Can confirm, it is SM-X516BZAAATS

        • Yup confirming that's a 5G model. Great LCD screen TBH.

    • +1

Looks the same as this one

  • Unless you really need 5G, pretty bad tablet IMO, Exynos 1380 is super weak so might as well as choose something like the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pro 2025 (Dimensity 8300 is far superior) for cheaper. Alternatively if you must get Samsung, Tab S8 series should be a similar price to this S9 FE.

    • +1

Except does the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pro 2025 come with a local warranty?
BTW Xiaoxin literally means take care / beware of potential danger. Lol.

Also, if you can get a new Samsung, Tab S8, with a local warranty for $475 then you should post it as a deal.

      • Yup buying Samsung becuz of better local warranty support.

      • +13

Tab S8 was $452 recently so I suggested that. If you must get local warranty, 5G and Samsung then the S9 FE is not that bad since there are basically no other options. BTW, 小新 (Lenovo Xiaoxin) and 小心 (Careful) are not the same.

    • I've had one for about a year and honestly it's been great. Mainly use it for streaming and gaming on flights and never noticed a slow down. Only bad thing is the Samsung OS which sucks compared to my pixel phone

  • 5G capable: This device is capable of working on the Optus 5G network, which is available in selected areas and on selected plans. Excludes NT. When not in a 5G coverage area, the device will switch to the Optus 4G network where it is available.

Is the 5G carrier-locked to Optus only?

  • If Samsung ever made an FE model with an oled screen like they did back in the day with the S5e, I’d buy one. For most what I do with my Android tablets the extra power of the flagship for the extra cost never really appeals to me.

    • yeah their product segmentation by display type really sucks. Bet it makes them money though

Was about to buy my daughter the A9+ but for an extra $100 it was a no brainer for more ram/storage and you get the S Pen.
It's got the 5g capabilities too, but that'll only benefit me if I ever sell it or do a trade in.
    Thanks OP great find!

The normal Tab S9 with AMOLED was around this price last month from Samsung

Have a read of comments in this deal for those that don't believe: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/896850?page=2#comment

      • Just read it. It still doesn’t explain how you get a S9 for $474?
Even with the jumping through the trade in hoops, it still shows as: "Galaxy Tab S9 Wi-Fi 128GB Grey - $909.30 + $300 Trade-In Bonus". What am I missing?

        • -1

There's also a $100 loyalty code and 5% off buying through the app

  • -4

it then shoots up unreasonably and disproportionately to over $1090 for the 256 gigs version
with no SD card feature this 128 gigs before system os and apps are even factored in means you can put half a dozen of grandma's photos and her recipes for curry chicken plus MS office only

    • +4

You can increase the storage by using the Micro SD (Up to 1TB)

    • +2

The standard price for this model on other sites is around $949 which is why I posted the deal. It definitely shoots up due to this on the 256gb model. However, the 128gb model does have microSD support

  • man,,,,,cant pick between the 2, this or the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2025

  • -1

LCD and 6gb are the only once stops me from recommending this, tab S9 with amoled and 8gb was <$499 few months back.

    • Wifi or 5G version for the $499?

Big difference for someone needing cellular network for their tablet.

      • my bad, wifi version only. 5g is great if you need this outdoors.

  • What a great deal. Almost wish I needed one

  • Thanks, grabbed one for my folks who keep having less-than-stellar experiences with ultra-cheap unbranded tabs and can't understand why.

  • Would Officeworks price match this?
    Is it locked to Optus?

  • Looks good as a smart home dashboard but bit over my budget.

  • The deal is no longer available unless you add the SIM plan

    • Oh shame, outright option is gone.

      • Yeah, gone. I did get one, just waiting for my delivery.

      • the deal is back now

  • Good deal got one

  • Anyone having issues with 3DS verification? My transaction goes straight to unsuccessful due to unverified payment and the 3DS doesn't load up anymore.

  • Just ordered one… good price compared to all the flagship models and new S10 FE.

  • +1

For anyone considering this you can get a Galaxy Tab S10 FE wifi 128GB cheaper through the Samsung EDU store if you have an eligible trade in device, as they are offering a $250 trade in bonus. It works out to be $410.24 minus the trade in value of your device. Possibly less if you use the Samsung Shop app.

It's also the newer Exynos chip, so would be worth it if you don't need 5G. It also has 8gb of RAM compared to 6gb in the Tab S9 FE.

    • -1

So I just ordered a Galaxy Tab S10 FE 256/12gb wifi for $426.82 with an old 7th gen ipad trade in ($50 value) from the Samsung EDU store via the Shop app.

      • -1

        why the down vote?

  • Thanks, grabbed one. Our kids have had the wifi version since they were released and they've been great for their use so was going to pick up another for our youngest child but this is a great price for the 5G version even if we don't use that.
Ordered on Sunday and it just arrived

    • Very lucky kids….wish my parents would buy me one. :-)
