[Pre Order] LG UltraGear 27" QHD OLED 240Hz Gaming Monitor 27GS93QE-B - $749 Delivered @ LG

590

Shipment starts 23rd April.

  • $50 sign up bonus brings it down to $699.
  • It's worth noting that I had an issue with the payment where I was taken away to pay with PayPal portal which didn't confirm payment leaving my order as "waiting for payment". When using the live chat, they instantly offered me a 10% discount code to use on my next order instead of the $50 welcome which brought my price down to $674.10.

Appears to be the same panel as the LG 27GS95QE-B although I can't confirm this directly. RTINGS review is very positive, especially at this price point https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27gs95qe-b.

I'd disagree, only on the premise that a 41% discount would be better value. Obviously all have their own use cases, but I think for the general population 240hz is more than enough. In saying that I've been weighing up options and would have bought an IPS panel instead but at this price for a decent OLED made it a no brainer for me.

I'd agree with the 4k Dell deal though, if you're in the market for a 4k OLED for sure, although I haven't really looked into 4k at all so I'd have no idea.

      • Didnt see the 10% promo code, I stand corrected

    • +3

I accept nothing less than 480 frames per second when I'm gaming.

      • Hows cyberpunk going?

        • +2

Unfortunately I'm limited to Super Meat Boy at the moment.

    • There was a video that said 60hz OLED is the same as 120hz IPS to our eyes / on the screen , so 240hz OLED is already 480 IPS to our eyes

      • What do you mean?

        • It was a very nerdy youtube video about monitor refresh rates and using scanning tools, seeing pixel transition time, doing tests etc etc, I don't remember the title to find it again but I watched tons of there videos, but yeah I also used a lg c6 as a monitor for years at 60hz and it was the same as my 120hz TN monitor in motion to my eyes but with better colors and blacks from it being OLED, now all OLED are 120hz so you don't even need to think about it lol , just get OLED and nothing else.

    • What GPU pumps out 480FPS ? on the games you play?

      • +1

Mostly FPS competitive games (ie. CS2) where I can get 480FPS pretty easily

        • So anyone who inst just playing E-Sports games doesn't need 480FPS .. heck unless your a pro gamer 240FPS is even overkill

        • Bro think he's a pro player , bet your stuck in silver with all those frames

        • At what PC spec and what setting are you getting 480fps on cs2?

    • I have same monitor as yours, but had to disagree
240Hz is enough for many gamers and more than that is just overkill
especially for other games than CS2 and Valorant

  • What is the difference between these models? They look the same except the price

    • Everything on their website seems virtually the same with minor differences -No mic output, no RGB lighting, slightly lighter and stand only has Tilt/Height/Pivot instead of Tilt/Height/Swivel/Pivot.

  • +1

    Waiting for my coupon now

    • Got impatient contacted support they gave me a code paid $674.10
Was going to stack with after pay deal $30 but app wouldn't let me login on mobile only on desktop.
Going to be paired with my old 27GL850 and retire my old samsung S27A950D

      • +1

Solid, glad it worked out at least a bit for you, same as what I paid and I'm chuffed. Especially since I was ready to drop $750 on this as it was ahah

  • +5

This uses the 2nd gen W-OLED panel. The only difference between it and the 27GS95QE is some RGB lights on the back, that’s it. If you use EDU account and stack with $50 first buy discount it will cost ~$630ish.

    • +1

nice find, I don't have an EDU account but $630 is pretty nuts I reckon

  • +1

Finally sub 1k OLEDs, made me read preorder as pre owned at first.

    • Right! I ruled OLED out because I wasn't willing to drop 1k on a monitor haha

    • Samsung previously had the 49inch oled g9 (G91SD) for around $1100 on its website.

  • +1

Woah, 750 bucks for an OLED?

    • Really $699 but couldn't post that as the deal because it's a welcome offer. But even then if you have an EDU account as low as $630!

      • Damn, I have one of those.

        Man $630, that's insanely tempting

  • Thanks. Been looking at monitors for the last few months to upgrade from my 2018 AOC VA monitor.

    This should do nicely.

    • Glad I could help, Over the past week I've been tearing my hair out because there's so many models out there at the moment, trying to sift through all the shit panels out there ahah

      • Yeah for sure. Was looking at Mini led monitors but for 699 figured I'd make the jump to OLED and just change my usage habits slightly.

  • Forgive me here and please correct me if i’m wrong, but isn’t it illegal under Australian law to launch a product already discounted? Would that also include preorder discounts etc?

    • Preorder on LG pages only means no unit available in warehouse, in this case it’s probably “back order”. Not new product. You can get 30% off RRP for preorder 2025 new release I think, subs required.

      • Thank you!

  • +1

bought the LG 27GS95QE-B for full price a couple of months ago, good panel

  • +1

$624.10 using edu discount and $50 welcome voucher

    • This is the way!

  • +1

Nice deal for a WOLED, comparable in pricing to a QD-OLED from Samsung after stacking a gazillion coupon codes, would buy if I didn't jump on another deal earlier in the year.

  • Damn
Doing my research and now oos. Had it for 674 too.
    Oh well, saves me money

    • +1

Same. Was making an account and everything and then it got Ozbargained.

    • Don't stress $675 is about the ATL for the Samsung 360Hz model so far, can imagine we'll see some interesting deals on that and 500Hz/540Hz QD-OLED very soon.

  • I have the 27GR95QE version. 1.7k hours of use and no burn in :)

  • +6

Ahhh, procrastinated about it too long, tried to click finish on the order and it errored out

  • Wish there’s one for 32inch

  • +2

WOLED lasts longer than QD-OLED in terms of burn in issue, but still LG has only 2 years warranty.

I bought this last month for $720 then returned it because the thick matte coating really leaves big glare that makes color washed , not OLED vivid at all. Maybe ok for dark room.

    • What did you buy / looking to buy that would be this but with a nice glossy coating?

    • Assuming a variety of content, this hasn't been true since first generation QD-OLED. In terms of the weak point of QD-OLED, that's for colours that are white or near-white at max - or close to max - brightness, due to requiring all 3 sub-pixels to fire brightly to make that happen.

Ultimately you don't want to use WOLED tech to produce an image because the white sub-pixel washes out colours, so the goal of both manufacturers is an RGB system of some kind, which presently leads to about 90% rec.2020 coverage when you do.

LG's premium TV release for 2025 - the G5 - is the first time they've switched to an RGB arrangement, in the form of a tandem RGB panel. It's also the first time in 3 years they've been genuinely competitive with Samsung's efforts, but they're not offering that panel tech on any other model. We'll see a monitor using it later this year, but I suspect it won't be a particularly high refresh rate.

  • I'm not sure whether to regret missing this. My Dell AW2725QF just arrived from the $450 deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/899538

I will mostly use a monitor for emails/text editing when WFH, and PS5 and XSX.

From Rtings, it seems text clarity on this LG OLED is not great (fringing etc), and it's only 1440p; so hopefully my 4k IPS is the right choice :)

And Rtings also has the LG peak brightness at Peak 10% Window 620 cd/m² - sounds like the 1300 peak advertised is as Rtings says with "Peak Brightness set to 'High,' which gets much brighter but has a more aggressive ABL and a less accurate image." (https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27gs95qe-b)

    B

    • I think text fringing you have to really just base it on your real-world experience rather than a zoomed image, check one out at a store if you can. I'm using a 2725DF with no issue, it doesn't bother me.

  • +1

devoed i missed this, does lg typically restock items like this?

    • +1

Sometimes. I remember they restocked once for the 27GX790A

  • This monitor does hit the peak brightness value of 1300 nits - but if you understand what that means in OLED advertising - that means it can reach that figure in a 1 or 2% window and only very briefly.

The panel is MLA+ so it would be a cut down G4 - which is not cheap.

  • It's back at 899
759 in edu with 50 voucher

    • Oh wow, they've changed the retail price too! I wonder if it was a price error then?

    • I ended up contacting support and they offered a 10% discount. Plus, bought two due to OCD reasons and got an additional 5% off, bringing it down to $759 each.

      • +3

It is $759 @ Mwave, Centrecom and Scorptec

  • patiently waiting for shipping

  • Same here! No updates yet, they've updated the page to say that shipping is on 27th of may…hoping that's it's just for new purchases and not those who have already purchased

    • I contacted support but they couldn't tell me when the order would ship…

      • well that's not promising…I guess these things happen

      • I ended up calling, and I was told it was likely the 27th of May. However, some may start shipping in a week from now and then it could take upwards of 14 days to arrive. Ended up cancelling and ordering from Scorptec for the same price and it was shipped today from them.

        • Yep I just did the same thing, but from my local PLE.

Refund was processed in like 30 mins from cancel request.

  • +1

LG sending me an email asking to review the monitor they haven’t shipped is certainly something.

I’m 99% sure it said it would start shipping these on the 24/04 when I placed the order.

    • Lol got sent a second email asking for a review.

"If you haven't already, don't forget to write a review and rate your 27GS93QE-B."

  • So I just called LG Australia wondering what is going on and the person on the other line just went off the listing which now has the monitor available for shipment from 27/05 (wtf)

I had asked why they said that date as when the order was placed it said 23/04 but all I got answer wise was "LG does shipments in batches".

Not super happy considering you can just go and pickup one of these for $750 at Scorptec right now

I placed an order for this monitor on the 10/04 and the idea of waiting 2 months is insane (its not a 5090 LG)

    • I suspect LG Australia's business model for this was to allocate most of the stock to retailers where they get greatest margins. And whatever left unsold from the batch is for consumers who 'pre-ordered'.

      • Shipment date pushed back again to 2nd June, only a few days from the new date but still pretty crap from them considering stock available from other retailers at $759…

  • Status changed to "Picking for delivery"

    • oooo yes, mine too! that's a good sign…hopefully haha

    • Same

  • Just received sms DHL with tracking info
    Label has been created

    • Yep, just got email from LG that order is shipped, nothing from DHL but I am a happy man regardless. I was seriously considering cancelling the order because my primary monitor has suffered a broken backlight and kinda pissed with LG and their lack of communication around this "launch". Glad it's finally coming and really not that long after my initial expectation as well.

  • Looks like people are receiving their orders this week

Oddly my product including serial number was automatically registered with LG - their system seems to do it without your input.

  • Mine arrived today

    • Is it awesome? Worth the wait?
