  I've just tested out your coupon code, and I ended up getting:

  • USD$4.14/month for 100GB storage VPS
  • USD$6.83/month for 200GB storage VPS

  I've updated your title to reflect that. However you might wish to fix your post?

  Edit: By the way it looks like you are using WebNX for your LA-based hosting. They are quite good from my experience, and usually build interesting boxes like those with huge disk array or lots of memory.

    Did you try from an Australian address? The OzBargain rules are that GST is required, hence the pricing. It's what you have quoted. I've added on 10% GST on top.

    Edit: Yes, it is in WebNX.

      Most definitely from an Australian IP. 10% GST is only added after updating the address field at checkout page.

  so for those of us whom don't require an invoice & living in Antartica there's no GST. Hang on if you're not an Australian seller, why would you charge GST?

    Cloud Shards is Australia based hence the need to charge GST. We just price in USD (with a AUD option) due to the majority of the client base preferring USD to purchase in.

    Yes, for those non-AU customers, GST isn't required.

    Two different things though.

    • Google Drive: file synchronisation across devices
    • Storage VPS: great for customised backup solutions

    For example I run a VPS at buyvm.net just for incremental backup of my websites using rdiff-backup.

    Not mentioned on ToS/AUP when you sign up, nor can I find it in WebNX's so I presume that they are okay as long as they don't receive a DMCA take down.

      That (DCMA) and it doesn't violate any other rule such as abusing resources. Private ones are usually fine. Public ones are usually the ones that attract too much attention and causes problems.

  Posting again if anyone finds this deal later. Signed up - setup was very fast. OS Installation very easy. Makes for an awesome seedbox when paired up with transmission. Highly recommended.
