Can anyone comment on the quality of these cables? Not sure if I should get genuine oem cables to charge my tablet/phone.
Well I use them for mine and they work just fine but you might consider this comment biased :-)
i need 5v 1A usb charger as well. Order together when you got it. US plug is ok.

for the WALL (US or Aust wall's plug). i know china has but just to support you.
Same with me.. I hear most cheap ones from china are pretty poor quality and take a fair bit longer to charge
Received 2 today. Quality seems fair, the plugs fit in very well (very firm on the micro USB end which is good). The cords them selves have the same appearance and feel as Apple charging cables. They look thinner than some, and are very flexible. Because of this (and experience with Apple cables) I suspect they may not last as long if they are treated without a little care.
To be honest, if I bought a phone and it came with one of these, I probably wouldn't notice the difference. Haven't noticed any differences in charging times yet.

To all those who ordered, I have sent an email but let me apologise for taking until yesterday and today to get everything shipped. I had an issue with my label printer that I use to print my shipping labels. Everything is sorted out now but it caused a delay of a few days.
