      Yes, merlin firmware is modified AsusWRT firmware so it supports WiFi 7.

      Some users want a router with multiple 2.5GbE ports for nbn 2000/100, 2000/200 and 2000/500. Faster Wi-Fi is a bonus.

        I have the ASUS RT-AX86U Pro with 1000 plan, tbh finding it overkill already. Anyway, the faster the better but not for my wife.

          Same, on a 1000/50 plan.

          In September these plans should be upgraded to 1000/100 automatically. Unless the 2000 plans are competitive, there's no reason to upgrade yet for most people, especially given that hardly any devices use WiFi 7 yet.

    This doesn't support 320mhz which is one of the things to get Wifi 7 for, this is more of a Wifi6E

      Yeah the RT-BE86U has 160MHz and dual band.

      RT-BE92U has 320MHz and tri-band 6GHz. $529 @ Bing Lee.

          Amazon Germany is EU stock. I don't know if the github workaround works on the Wi-Fi 7 Asus routers.
