    Thanks

  • So if we buy 2 items today for pickup tomorrow, could we ask for refund of diff with pickup on Sat?

    • +1

Unlikely unless you get a nice store. Best, you might get a credit back to your Club card/account.

      • +2

yea its big hassle. I would just wait till the sale starts

      Wouldnt recommend that

      • When will SCA do a special on 5W-30 engine-oil close-to $20 for 5L, being
        a.Castrol Magnatec.
        b.Nulon Apex+

        The $20 were MORE-frequent pre-Covid-19 & I'll still have some: oldest-bottle molded with '17-8' (2017-Aug?) & proof that these deals did exist, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/castrol-magnatec-stop-s…

        • Just my personal opinion but probably becase niche oils arent good loss leaders, these oils will rarely if ever go back to this pricing.

Anyway, you can always price beat with amazon or sparesbox or something.

Some of us wait for these deals, then use the online chat to price match, then pay using discounted gift cards.

    • +2

depends if you are organized or not. Obviously the sales can alternate between repco or autobarn. So if you only purchase oils, filter battery or whatever on the day you want to do your job you just select who has the sale, but yea sometimes all stores have the same sales or cheaper RRP anyway.

I personally have been watching the toolpro 18v tools. Good bargains at similar quality to ozito stuff.

When you need to fix the car asap to get it on the road. You don't wanna to wait a week for online order to arrive while the car is sitting there.

      • Yep and unfortunately whenever my car breaks down there are no sales on. So I'm paying full price anyway. 😂

    • Though they're about 30km away, they're still the closest auto shop to me.

Well, beats the time local one which just feels sad

    • well I for one, do find they are well overpriced unless some specific items go 50% off

  • Does it work on price match?

I did priced matched a few item today. Will check later

    • Got rejected

great but what are the bargains ?

      I need a battery

      Consider Century-brand, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15913115/redir

    • I just bought a battery from them yesterday, it seems like they have pulled all of their specials which some was more than 25% off.

      • +1

So do you recommend waiting for a better battery deal @Charles89?
I don't need one immediately, but will in a few months. My start stop on my vw golf is slowing dying.

        • +1

25% off seems to the HIGH-end of battery-discount. Pick the right-battery for your car is important.

my vw golf is slowing dying

Accurate problem diagnostic is crucial…assuming that battery aging/degradation IS the problem & NOT-electrical…something-ELSE that drain your battery.

          Suggestions to PRO-LONG battery-life.
          a.Turn-OFF stop-start & any features that draw high-current &/or NOT-mandatory…less load on battery.
          b.Slow-charging overnight daily…keep it alive & stronger…longer.
c.If battery require annual-watering & you've done nothing, do it now.
          d.Monitor the delay-response in turning-your-key/push-button-ignition & engine-cranking…should notice the-delay get-longer: milli-second. Or maybe your lights dim for longer etc?
e.Search the internet for suggestions, specific to your model.
f.Colder Autumn is here & will reduce CCA.

How long you delay the battery purchase is driven by the above, your risk profile & access to a spare-car? Good luck. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15913115/redir

          • @ab c: Thanks mate. Sound advice. Will DM you, if that's okay.

            • @Lord Ra: I think just keep an eye out on a battery that you need, and wait until either SCA or a competitor do a better on it then get SCA to price beat it.

As for VW stop/start battery, I have heard that you need to get them reprogrammed to the car to work? Can you confirm?

      • @Charles89

  • +3

    Discount off regular retail price

So it won't stack with club prices or anything else that's already discounted?

e.g. 20% off batteries won't stack with the 25% off for a 40% total discount? Instead it would just be 25% off the full price right?

    • +1

Correct, based off the last 25% sale which worked this way.

  • I normally price match everytime I go to SCA, see how we go with this in store tomorrow ahaha :D

  • Well hello Bunnings.

Looked good on the surface, until I checked the two things I have actually had my eyes on that are both 30% off and ending 17/04… So today

  • Need 40-50% like before to name supoercheap. The inverters prices are crazy. The battery box is ok. The air tools are not as cheap as before. Should I hold or hold?

Edit: All prices increase today lol

  • Have a black car with lots of swirls on the paint, and want to give it a ceramic coating as well.

My plan would be wash, iron remover/decontamination (not using a clay bar but using a chemical), wash, polish then apply ceramic coating.

Anyone recommend different steps or a good iron remover? Dont really want to use a clay bar as I feel I’ll just be adding a heap more scratches and I’ve heard black Tesla paint is super soft

    • +2

if you mean polish = machine polish; you may as well claybar. claybar will add marring to the paint, which polish will remove no problems

      • +1

        Yes with a DA polisher

        • +1

You can use softer claybar (usually, the yellow one from Meguiar's rather than the blue ones from 3M) if you are worried. But as mentioned above the polish will take care of it. I did both claybar and iron remover.

You would also want to consider using isopropyl alcohol to degrease the car before ceramic coating, unless your polish is one of those ceramic coating friendly ones.

      • @specks, @brick50, @ymmf, Any-expert?

Any advice on removing cloudy TOP-area of FRONT-clear-plastic-headlights…UV damaged? https://a4.pbase.com/o12/63/13063/1/170951532.bYgS3LBj.20200…
        Definately NOT water-condensation. Thanks.

        • +1

          That needs sanding then polishing.
For better results, start with something like 800 grit, then move up to 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000 and then cut and polish. To keep it looking good for a while, ceramic coat afterwards. Or you could hit it with some non yellowing clear coat.
There are plenty of youtube vids that could help you.

          • +1

            @Tsar: Thank you all.
            There's a min. 2 steps: sand-paper & polish-liquid. I guess it depends on how deep the TOP-layer of plastic is oxidised/cloudy & hence the coarseness of the 1st sandpaper needed & then follow-up within finer sand-paper (& finally polish-liquid). Maybe test-trial a small-area 1st to see how coarse the 1st sand-paper need to be?

        • im not sure what exactly you're referring to. it depends if the damage is inside or outside of the lens.
if inside - you'll need to separate the lens and housing, which i wouldnt recommend.
if outside - sand and 2k clear (which is the general headlight restoration process)

        • +2

You can buy a headlight repair kit that has different grades of sandpapers attached to a backing plate for a drill. It saves a lot of elbow.

Just like spray painting, preparation is key. If you don't sand enough especially at the start, you will regret.

I would follow @Tsar's advice. If you do not use ceramic coating, a spray can of UV-resistant clear coat would do the job. Two-pack is the best but you need a respirator to protect your lungs as it has hardener. I sprayed with 4-5 thin layers of single-pack clear coat after 2000 grit, then re-sand at 2000 grit, then compound and polish and it worked out ok even after 1 year.

          • -1

@ymmf: Thanks for the link & comments, gave me a idea💡🤔

It saves a lot of elbow

            Clear-coat cleansing for the whole-car: I've used a larger polishing-pad(than the aliexpress-link) & attached to a drill. With mineral-turpentine as a cleanser & machine-clean the whole car, WITHOUT hand-polishing & buffing to finish-off 🥵💪. Sure it leave minor squirl-marks initially but after a few months of hand-washing & drying, the squirl-marks disappeared.

            Elbow-grease: some spots-cleansing &/or hand-polishing is needed for road grime( eg black-dots) & minor surface IM-perfection.

            • @ab c:

              I've used a larger polishing-pad

              For the enthusiants &/or professional detailers…the above was a FOAM-pad & NOT wool/fibre pad-> https://www.repco.com.au/medias/sys_master/images/sys-master…

FOAM-pad: the swirl marks are visible with direct sunlight & @ certain angle of viewing. The average-joe & NON-perfectionist may find this acceptable?

        • Get some fiberglass boat polish.

More grit than your average. 5 mins and the headlights are done.

BUT - watch / tape the edges of the lights.

So many people sand and polish the lights and take out their paint work.

End up with clear lights and rusty panels.

  • Not valid on a roof storage pod I was looking at. No idea why.

  • +2

Can anyone point out the actual bargain?

    • +2

I stocked up on 0.8mm mig tips. 10 pack for $2.07 paying with 8% of gift card. They're usually $8-10/pack.

Using gift cards, 31% of everything in the clearance category is great value.

  • +1

Can't find real bargains inside actually. Seems mostly jacked up

    • -1

Eventually grab a car wash, some AAA batteries and a plastic organisers

  • So for price matching, I'm guessing it will be add 1 item to your cart, get them to apply the price matching tomorrow when web chat opens, and then add the second cheap item to activate the additional 25% off. Can anyone who already had price mated item(s) in their cart confirm if you can stack?

  • This jack was as cheap, or cheaper, yesterday - pretty sure it was $79 or $89, it's now $97

    • Yep same with Eufy cameras…all the prices have increased today

    • +1

      Its 129.99 now 😯😯

      • Yes, but with the 25% off it comes down to $97

    • Had one of them lose pressure and slowly drop, get this one instead: https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/toolpro-toolpro-low-prof…

      • Thanks for the heads up - but for 3-4x the price I'll probably still go the cheaper one, and make sure I maintain/claim warranty

        • $236 atm

  • -1

Jack up the price and then give a small discount that's Supercheap

  • Yep - as others have said, prices have been jacked

    • +5

Have prices been jacked, or has the previous special just ended and this new one begun? What prices have been jacked above RRP?

  • +3

For those looking for a deal, I managed to grab a Bluetti AC70P for $659 after adding a cheap $1 pair of gloves.
    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/bluetti-bluetti-ac70p-10…

I missed the previous Superfamily deal.

    • Saw it last night. Same price and oos or very low stock and no delivery option so.

      • Yeah stock is still smashed from earlier sale. But some other models are available and others maybe as lucky as I was with SCA nearby with stock

        • Last night with $40 credit which is removed today. Still good price if I can grab one but unlikely.

  • Thanks stocked up on car wash products

  • +2

Pricebeat and 25% off don't stack

    • That sucks. Was hoping to to get some extra discounts. Looks like most things have reverted back to full price but some items have increased in price. like some bendix brakes were 152.99 now they're 159.99

Looks like they're giving voucher codes to work around the stacking. so instead of discounting what you have in your cart, they give you a voucher code.

    • Thanks for the heads up, saves me a trip in

  • Is there something that can be applied to repell or reduce dust/dirt sticking to the car?

  • +3

This is great. Works on special order items too, some stuff specific for my car is never ever on sale, 25% off is unheard of.
