I would but the xbox app on my PC has incredibly slow download speed.
Shouldn't be, I get >100MB/s on my 1Gbps connection
I used to get close to my full speed, now lucky to get 5Mbs
It's an issue with the windows store from memory, I had the same issue. I can't remember the solution sorry but you will be able to find it. Was either Reddit or YouTube.
Sometimes mine locks at some low level, but I can get it back up to speed by opening and closing the download in windows store instead. Bug has been going for years. Microsoft sucks.
i'm on a 1 gig connection too and i find xbox to be the absolute slowest, even EA and ubisoft launchers are faster
Imagine someone saying 'my car has broken down' and you saying 'impossible my (Ferrari) drives great'
11/10 empathy
Vast majority of households have access to gigabit services on nbn. It's not really anything special.
@tp0: A quick Google will tell you Australian average is under 60Mbps. Most Australians have 'access' to buy a Mercedes on finance. Lost touch with the common man.
@captaincabinets: The difference between a 50mbps service and a 1000mbps service is about a dollar a day. It's not a cost issue.
Dumb comparison. I was pointing out that my connection can max out downloads from the MS Store, so its unlikely the Store to blame for slow speeds.
What an idiotic analogy 😅
Gets about 75 percent of my peak download speed which is acceptable when people are on work meeting Teams calls.
This may seem useless but I had the seem problem and after some googling there was a setting I changed that returned everything to full speeds.
It’s something to do with windows store / updates.
Thanks mate this has been mildly bugging me for ages I'll look into it
Yes this is my experience as well. There is a windows setting which limits the download speeds of MS Store/Xbox app/windows updates. I turned off all the limiting options and now it downloads near Steam speeds.
I had the same issue last night downloading Oblivion. After much reading what worked for me was setting my DNS to googles DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 I went from 0 - 7 mbps to over 500mbps.
I also tried the start the install on Xbox app, pause the download, close the Xbox app, open the microsoft store app and resume the install there but it didn't make a difference until I did the above.I only have a 250Mbps connection but I maxed it out the other evening.
Downloading now, and it's steady at ~895Mbps on my 1000/50 Opticomm connection.
I am using quad9 DNS, haven't tried any other way.
First Oblivion remaster and now this. Not a bad time to be subscribed.
Don't forget Blue Prince if you're into puzzles and can tolerant Gacha-tier RNG.
oh wtf, thats on gamepass? I was almost gonna buy it
Thanks mate, Im downloading it now :)Also Crime Scene Cleaner is sooo addictive
Seriously looks good
I'm pretty sure this unlocks at 5 pm on Thursday the 24th of April according to the world map infographic the devs put out. Don't be surprised if it says you're too early when trying to run the game before that
Genuinely one of the (few) more interesting original releases thus far on this barebones ps5/ xsx console generation.
This game deserves a purchase, especially at under $70 digital.
That's what I'll be doing at some point when it's on sale.
This is my problem with the subscription services, be it GamePass or PS+ or whatever. I just don't get through the games fast enough and (with the exception of MS first party stuff) the games don't actually remain there. My backlog is already probably enough to keep me going for 2 years without getting anything new. Even if I had GamePass, this game would likely be gone from it by the time I got around to playing it, in which case I'd end up having to buy it anyway.
Yeah ditto. Gamepass is great for little tiny games that I play for maybe 30 minutes to pass the time. But big long RPGs I feel like I'm better off in the long run just buying it.
What's insane to me is I have game pass, and I'm debating playing this brand new game, versus a 20 year old game in a new coat of paint (Oblivion).
Guess I just wish they were spaced out, ah well.
I'd play this one first. Oblivion is a MS firstparty game, therefore it'll probably be on GamePass forever. Clair Obscur is 3rd party, so its time on GamePass is going to be limited.
From all accounts, the story in CO:E33 is very spoilable, if that influences you. Oblivion will always be there and most likely will be better performing after some patches.
CO has already had performance patches since the demo and from all accounts is pretty bug-free.
Tempting, does anyone know how or where to get the best price for PC GamePass subscription?
Any chance you know the odds of the shapes promo these days
Unfortunately Microsoft recently cracked down on cheap subs through VPN, which doesn't reliably work anymore.
So for PC game pass there isn't anything cheaper than directly through MS at $13.95/month. (Note there is a $1 14-day trial available for some accounts)For a new Game Pass Ultimate (GPU) sub you can can get 3x12 Months Core from Startselect, who is apparently an official retailer (not grey market). You can then upgrade to GPU at 2:1 conversion by buying 1 month GPU, resulting in 19 Months GPU for $300.90 or $15.84 per month. If you have a Topcashback UK account you can get a further 5.75% cashback from Startselect.
Or wait for a better dealFor $14 a month I reckon that's pretty good value anyway. I only have it active when I have a new game to play.
What time is it available? It's not yet up in Xbox Game Pass.
5pm (12 minutes) according to the dashboard countdown
nice price :)
