Maybe an unpopular opinion, but there are lots of free (and cheap) amp sims that are really good, and you don't have to spend a lot of money on NDSP plugins.
I never use amp sims before. Is this just a software I can install on my laptop or something I need to install into a hardware previously purchased from the same maker?
Usually they come as both a standalone software and a plugin for your DAW, so you shouldn't have any problems.
Neural have some excellent amp sims. Gojira and Petrucci are my favourites.
Overall I prefer PolyChrome DSP McRocklin Suite, but I still use my Neural sims. The McRocklin sound modelling is excellent and the Hypertune (pitch shift) works incredibly well.
Scuffham Amps also have a sale on right now too - $89 USD instead of $129. It is a fantastic sim that focuses on every except great metal sounds.
