Had to google the cost of the card, Jesus Christ! People really dropping 6-7k on a graphics card?

    Thanks bought 10

    • Yes. If you go to a university campus, you'll meet two types of students; the ones that spend $5000 on a car and the ones that spend $5000 on a graphic card. Of course there's some that can afford both comfortably and some that can't afford neither of them but generally most can't afford both but able to save up for one of them and make a choice.

    How many should I get?

    • +1

No more than 5, please. I don't want to miss out.

  • +63

This is both a good deal and also a ripoff.

  • +13

Thank goodness for the free shipping!

    • +8

yeah that pushed me over the edge…

  • +23

Thank you for making me feel fine about spending 630 on a switch 2.

  • +1

I wouldn't get DarkFlash AIO CPU Cooler for this build. Would get better one

  • +13

"the rest of the components are free?"

Is there a BYO GPU option and i get the rest for free?

  • Thanks bought 10

  • +2

Asus Prime (low end board) in such a high end build scares me. Can anyone weigh in on this?

    • +12

It's a $6k GPU and a $900 CPU for $6999. Expect corners to be cut on the other components.

      • -6

if you are planning to gut the build for compoents it would be fine, but using the build as is may cause decrease in performance, errors, and even potential damage to the hardware.

    • +1

I also see low end CPU Cooler and RAM. Maybe NVME as well

    • +2

i cant even find exact model the closest is PRIME B650M-A WIFI II (VRM 2x4+2+1), also the lack of psu specification is weird, most of the 1000w FSP are A on the psu tier list but there is also a few B+ while still good, but most people would recommend A for 90 series cards.

    • It’ll work and you won’t see any performance gains going for a better one so in a prebuild like this makes sense. I just wouldn’t overlock with it.

I wouldn’t be worried about it, but I’d also probably do a bit of a rebuild with the GPU & CPU at some point in its life anyway.

For an extra $1000 you could have this beast… https://www.harveynorman.com.au/predator-orion-7000-po7-650-…

    • -5

Beast? The other pc eats it alive. With skin and bones.

      • +13

Guess I should have added /s or :P

  • you can buy a new 5090 for around $5600 now and I do believe it is a fair price

this is a good deal for the whole PC

    • Where is this $5600 5090?

      • +4
        • Gigabyte is out of stock. But Palit is available. Decent price for now. It'll go down more if you want wait longer.

          • @MrMoo: Lol, I was just doing a search for OP, no way i'd be buying a 5090, the GPU alone is double my whole computer that I built last year and I got a 7800X3d with a 4080 Super which run more than fine for anything I need it for.

        • this Gigabyte has no stock and I personally avoid this brand at all cost. Due to the poor experience I had with them for 3090….

          Palit is ok

          • @ggfatty: Yeah, good luck mate, although I lean towards you handing in your ozbargain badge for even thinking about buying a 5090. lol.

            • -1

@Spec: some ppl need it for work and AI

      • I have send you a DM

    • +2

How is $5600 a fair price?

      • +1

how is it not a fair price ?:)

FYI I bought my 4090 for $2800, use it for 1 year and sold for $4000

        • Got my hands on a used 4070ti super for $850 on MP used for about 6 months sold it for $1500 2 months ago

  • If only money wasn't an issue…. >_<…..

  • +3

that cpu and gpu paired with a $179 motherboard is tragic.

  • +10

What advantages does this computer have over, say, a train? Which I could also afford.

    • +2

      … gently massages your buttocks.

    • Train carriage would cost over $10K ?

    • This'll fit in your office.

    • +2

This computer comes with free drivers

    • +2

      Both need drivers.
Both can be used while seated.
      Both have enormous energy consumption.
Both will take you places with nice views.
Both have the potential to move you.
Neither will fill the hole in your life.

  • $2700 4090 says what

  • Why it's free delivery, that's all I can afford.

  • +3

I see these guys spamming instagram constantly with ads for overpriced 4060 builds

  • The ridiculous thing is that this is actually a bargain.

  • I got a notification for this deal because I've got alerts set for desktop PC bargains, if only I could put a price filter on my alerts!

To paraphase Obi-Wan, "These are not the PC deals I'm looking for".

  • You're in the market for a 5090… And you're on ozbargain?!?

  • Can I play crysis on this?

  • +1

Palit RTX 5090 cost $4139 when it first launch using Wayback Machine to check: https://web.archive.org/web/20250207073432/https://www.scorp… , this is only a deal if you want to pay for current gpu market price.

    • +1

No one knows when, or if, those prices ever returnj

  • For those that buy to strip for parts, how does warranty go with it? I imagine you would be on your own to seek warranty from the manufacturer once the parts are pulled? For most things this wouldn't concern me, but for Nvidia 50 series that seems to be about a 50-50 bet whether you will need warranty support.

    • +1

Disassembly doesn't remove the retailer from their obligations under the Australian Consumer Law. Unless of course, your disassembly caused the issue.

      • yeah I understand that, but what happens when they say "return the system and we will investigate". They rarely say pull the faulty parts out and send it back.

  • +4

The problem with buying a machine this is that the wife nags when you buy it and nags every time you try to play any games on it. Better just to watch YouTube videos of people unboxing computer parts and playing games….

    • Why did you marry someone that doesn't approve of your recreational hobbies provided you're doing your share of responsibilities?

    • I bought now asked for forgiveness later and made some spiel about tax deductabiles and selling my old pc for a ‘great price’. Had to do that again for my lg 45GX950A-B pre-order

  • Palit and that mother board? Hell no.

  • +5

I'd be inclined to upgrade the ram to 64GB. I mean people say that you don't need 64GB to game, but I bet the same people claim you don't need a 7k$ PC to game, so what do they know?

  • +2

I bought this a few days after 5090 launch. Never heard of this store before either. I paid 180 extra to upgrade to a Samsung 990pro 2tb ssd for 6879 total (the price for the base pc has increased slightly since then). The upgrade made the delivery take 2 weeks in total from melb (shop) to syd where I’m located as they didn’t have the ssd on hand and were waiting for delivery. Package arrived fine and everything is running tip top shape. They probably would have got it to me in a week if I didn’t upgrade the ssd. Beats techfast who had a rug pull deal at launch with very limited stocks and bait and switched to a $7000 pc with a worse cpu than this deal and most people on that thread seemed like they waited for a month at least…

  • 5090s cost this much now? Ouch.

  • Thanks! Bought one today. Tried to find a coupon code to use but couldn’t find any.
