      It would need to be associated with your HomeKit which requires an auth step on the administrators device, or be added to your Meross account via the device code. Both are then only accessible if logged in via your Apple account or Meross Account.

      There is no way this is accessible via ‘scanning’. It has a 2-way Auth process. It’s actually much more secure than a traditional door opener.

      I have done the same but the Siri voice feature doesnt work when not connected to the Home Wifi. Do you use the voice command via HomeKit and are you able to use while on mobile network?

      Super easy to do! You just have to identify the right pins on your controller and then it's just plug and play essentially.

    Installed this during the last sale. Has anyone figured how to create a Siri shortcut so that I can 'voice command' to open a garage when I turn into my street and not connected to home wifi?

    What I have noticed is that currently, I use the HomeKit and Siri voice command to open or close the garage but for that I need to be connected to the local home WIFI to use this feature. It doesn't work via mobile network.

    Example - When leaving, reverse back from the garage onto the driveway and call out Siri to close the garage. If I dont do that on the driveway, the wifi connection drops, the Siri command doesnt work via 5g/4g mobile number.

    Just like the above, when reaching home, I have to reach my driveway, wait for my mobile device to connect to my wifi and then use the Siri command. I mean thats an option but a pain, so I just use the Meross app to open and close.

      Yes they will! You just need to hook it into Google Cloud or use the meross app directly depending on how you want to set it up. It works both ways. If you're not using Homekit you can get the cheaper version ($44).

    I have the multi door version of this but it's been great for a the last year or so I've had it.

    Locked myself out of the house once but still had my watch on so opened the garage door through HomeKit and managed to get to the back.

    Does anyone know why all the compatible devices dissappear in the information section when I select non home kit?

    I don't have Apple, I use Android. Should i still be selecting home kit when using android devices?

      It should be an identical device, just different Cloud support. If the Garage Door has the correct pin configuration for the HomeKit version, it will also work with the non-Homekit version.

    Very good device and really easy setup for the functionality you get.

    These are the only things I can complain about

    If you are going to use this with Google Home you will need to use pin to open it everytime. I ride a motorcycle and I still need to dig around in my pockets for my phone to open the door.

    The response time is super quick, however the using the Meross app it takes a few seconds to update the open/closed status.

    Getting the WiFi connected took a while, ended up moving my WiFi access point literally 1 meter closer and it works perfect now.

          It does, use Samsung Smart Things app and it’s under the Routines. I use it every day

            @Lionheart: I think I've made it work, still yet to test.

            I added Meross to Smarthing then made a routine to open the door and finally added smart things to Google Home and put the "open garge door routine" into an automation.

              @oooooooo ahhhhhhh: Hope it works for you mate! Works for me 90% of the time and I love it. If you're wary of it staying open when you leave the house just put a cheap wifi camera in your garage so you can check it anytime. Meross also have push notifications when the door opens and closes.

                @Lionheart: Tested today and its working well, surprisingly fast for needing to go through so many different systems (phone > google home > smart things > meross)

                You read my mind with the camera bought a 3 of the TP Link ones with the Meross.
