    should be cheaper
    litterally has the baby tax

The worst product we bought amongst all the baby purchases. Super buggy and annoying.

If you're in the market for a baby cam, suggest looking elsewhere. Majority of the functionality ends up behind paywall after a year and the app UI is buggy at best (something CuboAI seems to barely improve over the years).

There are plenty of baby cams that perform the basic function well enough at a much much cheaper price.

I think the paywall is quite possibly the biggest con I've ever seen in a product.

    • Which alternatives do you suggest? We have a small person on the way.

Just buy a Tapo camera. Speaking as a parent of two who got suckered into the Cubo for baby #1 then used his own brain for baby #2

      • +1

Agreed with above on any wifi camera - you don't need any of the baby features.

recently purchased eufy e21 and we are quite happy with it

SM50 - clone of the tweetycam.

We owned a cuboai camera. It's crap and quiet honestly the worst baby related product we purchased. Takes a long time to connect. App will randomly log you out. The subscription model to make use of the camera features sucks given it already attracts a baby tax. Their marketing sucked us in cause it was over 50% on sale, but it didn't live up to the hype. The AI features could be improved upon significantly. Raising alarms when it shouldn't, but then not raising alarms in critical moments when it should. Tried to contact CuboAI many times, but once you hand over your money, consider after market support gone.

    • App will randomly log you out.

I hate it when apps do that 😔

    • Agreed. Support horrific and god forbid your internet drops. These morons have figured a plan mode yet

On the contrary to the above comment, this has been one of the best products i've purchased of all the baby purchases. It's the camera i have ended up using long term, and multiple times a day. Even without the premium options, you can still play a good amount of sounds, the clarity and quality is fantastic (however i'm jelly this is the version 3 with 2.5k!!). The app has worked flawlessly, but i guess it does depend on the internet connection \ quality you have, which many are quick to blame the product, rather than their connectivity, both their home, and if they are somewhere else, the 4\5g connectivity. At this price i would highly recommend.

It's mostly the notifications that are below average. If you put your phone into silent for example, you don't get notifications which makes it entirely useless. Far easier and cheaper to just get a normal monitor IMO. That and the smart stuff on this is mostly useless, so it's just a basic camera, with a basic app for above average cost.

    • Further to your comments I've found that even with our Unifi setup my wife's iPhone seems to have some connectivity problems every now and then, while my Galaxy never has any issues.

    Just buy a tapo c210, around $30‐45

Has cry detection and works great

  • Is there a better recomendation then for those that have problems with this one?

    • +2

Well I had the same issue with everyone above, their customer service was also rubbish and then I bought VTech RM7764HDV2
You can download the vtech app (babyhd) use it on your phone and also through the monitor which I found myself using alot more.
There are cheaper models out there but make sure you get the remote access, so you can download the app on your phone.

  • Just sharing what I purchased for mine, iegeek 2k baby monitor. Purchased with 2 cameras super easy to set up, great video quality. Can be bought with wifi or non. I purchased with wifi coz wife requested, works seamlessly with iPhone and Samsung hope it helps

  • Spend 379$ for 33% off? A bit overprice i thought.

I’m so glad I went for a standard non internet connected camera, Nanio Comfy.

They’re on Amazon on special for around $90AUD

  • Had this one, would not recommend. Thermometer is not accurate, white noise broke after a year, and the whole thing just died after 2 years. Connection is pretty bad, esp if you are using ios. You are better off using eufy indoor cam which is available for $70.

  • Baby to Marge….baby to Marge…..whaaa whaaa

These are garbage. Ours often lost connection, completely negating the purpose of its existence. Their support was poor. Buggy app.
