Do we see 20% any more?

Also, Westpac altitude points. Better going elsewhere?

      • Yes but that has too many restrictions

      • +1

Does this new offer stack with this previous 20% one, or do we just get at most 20% extra if we had auto transfer turned on as part of the previous offer?

Finally, a promo that Citi is participating in.

    • Only a few months too late after I cancelled my card…

      • +2

        Ouch, that’s unlucky.
My annual fee is up in a couple months. Was considering keeping the card but with the changes made to the travel insurance, it’s no longer worth it so I’ll be canceling too.

        • Which card do you have? Ive read it that the changes are only applicable to the Citi Rewards Credit Card (i.e. not Premier, Prestige etc). Unless Premier and Prestige are considered a Citi Rewards Credit Card?

        • What were the travel insurance changes?

          • +1

@cheekymonkey97: Increase of excess amount from $400 (which was already high) to $600, plus some others.
Full set of changes are in the first 4 pages of this document.

Do these ever pop up for Commbank?

      • CBA wasn't in the last offer (Feb 2025 - Apr 2025)… I saw this offer, it included literally all banks except CBA for some reason.
        Can't speak for previous history.

  • Citi let's go

Is it worth converting to velocity or keeping points in Citi account to have the flexibility of converting to kris flyer down the track?

I think even with the extra 15% bonus converting direct to krisflyer yields more points than velocity to krisflyer (I have Citi premier)

    • You'd only transfer to Velocity if you don't think you'll use the points within 3 years, you'd need to pay up to extend KF points so better off transferring directly to KF.

  • If I've already enabled automatic transfer with ANZ, would I still earn the bonus points?

    • No

      • What about if I disable then re-enable? Or disable and then manual transfer?

        • Won't work. Only if you had disabled before the promo started.

  • Has anyone done this with NAB and received the 15% extra points but had received bonus points for taking out a credit card (ie. 100,000 for taking out the card and spending $x).
I just can't understand how Velocity has ways to check how the points were accrued if it's a transfer across to them. Ie - my balance may be 143,000, how do they know the first 100,000 was earned maybe 5 months ago for a sign-on bonus and the rest was accrued by shopping.

In the terms on the bottom for NAB it states this:

    "NAB Rewards Terms & Conditions
If you receive the Acquisition Bonus Points for a new NAB Rewards card during the Promotion Period, you will not be eligible to receive bonus Velocity Points as part of this offer on any points transferred from NAB Rewards."

    • EDIT:

Now that I read it again:
"If you receive the Acquisition Bonus Points for a new NAB Rewards card during the Promotion Period"

I read this as - if you didn't received these bonus points during this 'promotion period' being literally 1 May 2025 and 11:59pm AEST 31 May 2025 (“Promotion Period”) then the offer does apply.

I'm going to try the transfer and see what happens!

      • How did you go? I have the velocity platinum amex with bonus points in the same situation.

        • +1

My issue extended a bit further - I have a NAB Business Rewards Signature Credit Card.
In the terms and conditions there was nothing about NAB Business (but there is mention of ANZ Business credit cards).
Velocity staff assured me that NAB business was also okay with this promo, I even tried the website enquiry form - same result.
I do need to eventually move the points across but holding off until the last week of April for now.
          Unsure what result will be.

    • My auto transfer somehow stop transferring this month in May not sure whether it’s due to the 15% promotion or because I have odd number points. I just got my bonus 120k and was planning to do manual transfer to KrisFlyer before the auto transfer took place on Mondays. But I took the risk and did manual transfer to velocity and try get extra 15%. Wont know whether it works until by end of July when the bonus points are supposed to hit your account.

      • NAB used to do auto transfer weekly but changed to monthly in May.
I'm in the same boat, just got 120k bonus points, was planning to transfer to flybuys, then to Velocity when needed, now with the 15% promotion, not sure if I just manual transfer to velocity now.

        • There’s a chance you might not get the bonus points via manual transfer if they are able to track it. I lose out about 1300 KrisFlyer points if that happens but if I do get the bonus points I gain 4500 KrisFlyer points than transferring straight to KrisFlyer.

  • Too easy with Amex!!!! MR Ascent Premium

    • Can you elaborate on what you mean by MR Ascent Premium please?

      • Amex Membership Rewards Level: Ascent Premium for Platinum cards, allows transfer to multiple airline partners eg SQ, QF,VA,CX, QR, BA etc as well as hotel partners Hilton Marriott etc

Nice bit its not all 15% and it cannot be used with other offers eg this one

  • wished this offer was out 2 weeks ago when i transferred 180,000 anz points over to my veloicty…. o well.

    • +1

It was! Their last offer finished up yesterday.

  • Perfect!

After 20% with auto transfer for ANZ and NAB.

Time to move some citi. FYI, if you want to transfer to krisflyer down the track, it is worth doing it so to velocity first due to the 15% bonus.

I still don't know the timing though of when we will get the bonus points.

    • +4

For Citi might still be better off transfering direct to KF if KF is your ultimate goal.

Citi is 2.5:1 KF, even with velocity 2:1 + 15% you'll still have more KF when transferring direct.

Using 1000 Citi points as an example:
Citi to KF direct = 400 miles
      Citi to Velocity to KF = 371 miles (1000/2 + 15% bonus = 575 velocity points / 1.55 = 371 KF miles)

But only worth it if you have a planned use for the KF miles as they expire unlike Velocity; and for other banks at 3:1 KF you'll be ahead going via velocity)

      • You are right actually, sorry!

I have enough in velocity so probably best to just keep them in citi rewards points.

      • Thanks for this explanation, was wondeirng about the same question too earlier

    • I had auto transferred all my anz point last month for the 20% offer. But I didn’t get the 20% extra yet. Have you got them ?

      • Not seen any bonus points come through yet

        • I’ve stopped transferring on the first day of the promotion as I had issues with timezones. Last promo in February I had to go back and forth with them so many times to finally get the bonus points.

      • Will take 1 month apparently to hit our accounts.

        • Hopefully I’ll get it. I won’t remember to check it again in a month.

  • Is this the best option for Citi Rewards? I still have my PayAll points sitting there

    • How did you go with this? I need to do the same?

  • +1

velocity have some good airline partners like SQ and ANA

    • Yes, but IIRC required points are different; and reading some comments in the past availability is also better directly via SQ vs booking through Virgin so YMMV.

  • +1

A shame CBA doesnt do this

  • Do we need to "register" for this offer? I went to transfer from my citi prestige account and there's no indication that there's an offer on.

  • I transferred from from an eligible bank but recieved no bonus on the 3rd of May. Do we need to wait to get the bonus for some reason?

    • Haven’t received it yet as well, transferred on the 3rd of May

      • +1

If I remember reading terms correctly, bonus points will be credited to account by 31 July.

  • Ive been sitting on 600k odd of Amex Gateway points (havent used any in 4-5 years) and am thinking it might be time to move them somewhere else to use or sell - Im guessing this is a good option?

    • +3

Terrible… I mean why would anyone want an extra 15% bonus for transferring to Velocity and putting it to good use. lol….

  • When do the bonus points get added?

  • do these happen quite frequently? Do they go higher than 15%? I have about 300k amex ascent premium points, not in a hurry to use/convert it, so should i just wait for a better deal?

    • I'm also wondering is this the best use of AMEX points? Or is it better to transfer to an international airline?
