          • @SYLTB: Lmao fictional? Google main issues in vw's and I GUARANTEE you dsg and water pumps are on top of the list

    • the turbo one?

  • new driver here, is it hybrid car or pure petrol or electric car?

    • Petrol

      • -1

thanks, so is it still good buy to petrol car ? i thought hybrid or electric is the future ?

        • Yes. Look past the marketing and buy whatever suits your budget and lifestyle.

        • Yes it is the future but can you afford to buy EV if you need to pay $10000 more

  • Mazda EV when? New owners usually go EV. The price is enticing their old prices were a rip off to begin with since 2015 ten years ago

  • Ev are not much more. All these price drop means they are dying

  • -4

Wait, you guys still buying brand new fully petrol cars at this price range?

    • +1

In the real world, yes. But don't let facts get in the way of your imagination.

  • +1

Finally back to pre COVID pricing!

Tbh if I was buying new, I'd get a hybrid at the very least.

  • +5

So, this doesn’t even come with front sensors?? My 10 yr old Suzuki Vitara cost cost $15k less and came with front sensors as standard.

    • Yeah that is concerning

6 speed auto in 2025 is a joke.

    • +1

      Have you ever driven one?

      • Never driven a CX-5, no.

    • CVT lover?

      • No, I think 8 speed should be minimum in this day and age, but 9 or 10 is better.

        • could just be just CVT that they make it feel like x speed auto

9 or 10 are more like for luxury or race Japanese cars

do you miss getting jerked from the gear changes?

    This car sucks

Small boot bad leg room for second row

    Combined Fuel Consumption: 6.9 L/100km

this is a lie you will never get that I know first hand

if you are thinking about this, do yourself a favour and get a RAV or CR-V

    • Eh I mean I've driven just about every modern SUV out there and the CX-5 definitely is a nice driving car, it's got decent power, decent looks, newer models have HUD, good console…

But yeah the small boot and fuel consumption is absolute lies.

I think somewhere around 9-10L/100km is accurate.

With the glut of new Chinese SUVs it will be interesting to see what others offer.

      • Unless it's the turbo

I find the 2.0 and 2.5 sluggish vs other Japanese cars

Actually I find the Mazda very basic and I had the top range akera

Strangely enough, when i went to Japan earlier this year i've noticed that they have almost NO Mazda on the road.
Lots of Honda, Toyota, Isuzu, Subaru. Some Premium european like Mercedes and Audi but no Mazda.

I even started specifically looking for it and counted less then 5 cars overall. I had 15 days trip and started counting on day 3 or 4.
3 different cities, lots of exploring nearby. No Mazda.

Not sure why, just an observation.

    UPD. found some statistics.
Mazda sale is almost 1:10 to Toyota sale in Japan
6th place, significantly lower than Toyota, Suzuki, Honda or Nissan

What a shame it's only front wheel drive. An SUV without 4WD is like a ute without a tray to me. Neither of them would interest many buyers.

    • +1

I am really regretting getting FWD. Spinning the wheels way more than before

      • +2

I guess SUV shaped cars that are FWD are just like a sedan or hatch on stilts

        • thats how i usually describe the compact-SUVs

      • There is no rear diff to service and less to go wrong with FWD. The front diff on FWD is also serviced with the transmission. All around less maintenance.

    • +1

You should know that even "4WD" SUVs are FWD almost all of the time.

      • Makes me feel better

      • Yep, that's why I got a Subaru with fulltime AWD. It uses a bit more fuel, but it hugs the road nicely.

  • +2

If Mazda genuinely wants to boost sales of this outdated model in the current conditions, then the price should be from $29,990
