Have been looking for a decently priced unit to use at home & on the go with my Bluetti AC70P the unit can step upto 9 levels of power, perfect for my use see below for reference on output power, tested this to cook dinner tonight and worked a treat!

Ikea have a good customer service warranty as well so that's an added bonus if you have issues with your unit.
Spotted in the comments on a recent deal for a Phillips Brand unit for $59 and spotted some chatter recommending the Ikea unit

  • A friend told me this unit is to thick, I responded the price was more attractive to me, they told me of other brands that are very slim but $240+

    • Too thick for what?

      • +6

        As a pillow

      • +5

        To be a frisbee

      • more guts inside it then a slim version :P

    • Get it right, it was in Chinese Yuan!!!

23mm unit is about $80 for me to get!!!

    • +2

Tokit do two versions. Xiaomi also have a slim one.

    • +2

Thin ones don't have frames, or any support. My partner cracked it by simply knocking over a sauce bottle (not dropped..tipped).

      $1200 whirlpool stove..

      Don't buy a thin one.

    • +1

Thick and hence sturdy and good.

  • I liked the spend $100 get $30 off vouchers last year

  • If you don't need it now $49 is the new lower price since end of last year.

  • +1

This was recently $44 for a while around March (need to double check receipt)

Power setting 1-4 cycles on and off so not really low wattage or good for simmering (water sudden boils then cools off)

My one has plastic off gassing smell at setting 8-9. Haven’t had time to go return as it doesn’t seem to affect function

    Great portable unit

  • Can I warm milk with it?

Had one for around two to three years and still going strong.

Two issues, the first is that there is minimum pan size for these and if it is too small the unit will not work. Secondly due to high heat usage the plastic side has deformed and raised one or two mm. This does not affect usage at all.

Great unit, if you have never used induction you will never go back to ceramic, hot plates, etc.

    • I had the same issue at the exhaust, I used it for hotpot/ steamboat. I end up putting it on a IKEA folded cooling rack, never have the problem again.

I've been considering this cooktop for my Bluetti AC180…good to know it works ok with your Bluetti. Looks like another trip to IKEA!

    • Yeah much better option I say for this price point ✅

  • I like this one better for a finer control: +-200w or +-20C

buuut I am using it for 19l pot from BigW to brew beer for last 2+ years which is a niche case :-)

  • Love mine. The only complain is the coil whine. Annoying enough for us to unplug it after we’re done cooking.

  • I think the $25 off Every $250 Spend for IKEA Family Members does not work on this item, as it is a "hob".

    • I think this belongs to Kitchen that is excluded, the reason I said the exclusion is a mist.

  • Isn't this the usual price? I got one for the same price long ago to test induction (we have 4 burner electric hotplate), and it works so well, now we rarely use the normal cooker at all

    • +2

I think it went up for a while. We did exactly the same as you about 3-4 years ago, and when I looked at it early last year the price had gone up (maybe to $79?)

  • +1

This is a good price, we bought ours for $79 and use it in our caravan.

    Haven't had any major issues.

The only thing I've noticed is that the fan doesn't always turn off after its cooled down and been used. We need to unplug and replug it in and then its fine. Otherwise we love it.

  • +2

We have 2 of these and use them every day. I use them in place of my gas cook top. We also pack one and take it with us while we travel interstate. We love ours.

    • Awesome 😎

  • This is future proof as we are moving to EVs.

  • Anything happened to Ikea? My local Ikea seems to change a lot like having 5-6 guys watching and checking receipts at checkout, but remarkable space improvement in the store like walk ways, used to have lots of unfinished trolleys that staff working on, same as the bargain market.
