Booking.com: 12% (13% SB Plus) Cashback on Accomodation / Hotels (Was 5.5%) @ Shopback (Till 6PM)

400

Shopback Plus users get 13% cashback, 12% Cashback for Hotels for regular users.

As always, check prices via booking directly at the hotel you want to stay before booking via Booking.com with the cashback enabled.

In some circumstances, it may be cheaper to book & pay directly with the business and forgo the 13% Cashback.

From my experience though in booking 2/3 star hotels in Singapore and Japan, I didn't see any price increases with the cashback activated, but your mileage will vary depending on the brand of the accommodation.

checked 2 places i'd booked in a couple of months. both higher with cashback. and the time i booked had that credit they give you like 3 months later, so even cheaper!

these cashbacks are definitely losing their lustre.

    • was going to post exactly this

    • For Japan I've found it to never really jack the price, BUT I've also found going via Google Hotels search to booking.com always gives -10% anyway without the need for cashback.

    • Trip doesn't seem to jack up prices with CR or SB

good luck, have tried this in the past and despite the ShopBack addon saying everything was detected, ShopBack never detected it. Customer support refused to help.

Had one still under review for more than a month already even after sending proof.
Wouldn’t trust shopback when it comes to booking.com but ymmv

    • It’s standard for booking.com to take a long time to give the cashback, normally 2 months after checkout

Just tried for a booking for July and cost was more than using the hotel direct website with free member rates.

I'm finding Booking.com a bit pricier than the competition these days, Expedia seems better.

Booked a GC hotel for $130 this morning.
saw this..same hotel and room was $190 through cashback link. Went back without the link on another browser and it's still $130 without cashback. No thanks!

May users complaining of scammers using the platform to send messages asking for more payment to be made, then followed up a message from the hotel saying "it wasn't us". And repeat.

I was getting spammed by someone trying to log into the account between 1AM-3AM everyday. No online supoprt or a human to answer. I just deactivated my account and peace since then.

I'd be wary of this platform.

That usually happens when the Hotels' Booking.com account has been compromised, the fraudster will use their account to ask you to transfer money or they give you a link to update your credit card account. Then they hope the victim will transfer funds or they enter their full credit card details into the phishing site, before making unauthorised transactions with your card.

So if anyone runs into the situation above, do not respond to any messages asking you for either more payment or card details.

  • Back again for today, but ends at 6pm AEST
