Looking to buy my first ever iPhone 15. If buying used, what should I be looking out for?
Buying a Used iPhone - What to Look for?

Comments
Both can be faked, bruh
And make sure
a) that it works properly
b) that is not icloud locked
c) That battery health is way over 80%
d) That its running iOS (to check if its fake)
e) that the price is reasonable compared with new price and other advertised used phone prices of the same model
First result of your title basically sums it up https://support.apple.com/en-au/104999
Just make sure the price isn't too good to be true
Excellent find!
Make sure its not an android phone in disguise, otherwise known as an iClone
Scams
If you're worried just go buy this.
I doubt the savings of a used 15 over that would be significant (an iPhone 15 would get $780 on mobile monster, so no one would sell it under that unless it had problems), plus Apple phones tend to be retired when they're RAM limited. The 16 moved to 8GB from 6GB in the 15.
It is tempting…
It's a no brainer.
Just noticed that deal is only for base model. Only real reason for wanting an iPhone is for LIDAR, to use with 3D scanning apps.
Look out for Android OS on an iPhone 16 Pro Mini.

No Apple OS =
OrangeLemon.
Just remember it's "iPhone" and not "iFone" !
It is in Nigeria scam centers.
What about an "iPhoney"? Asking for a friend.
On an oiled rig?

That it works and that hardware is what you are expecting.

Our family have bought quite a few refurbished iphones and have had really good experiences. We buy off reputable websites that give warranty and have a good refund if not happy policy although we have always been happy with our purchases with looks and battery health and functionality. I would never buy one privately or off marketplace though but I am just a cautious old lady and very risk averse.

Steer away from people selling on eBay, Gumtree and Facebook Marketplace, too risky, and no guarantee.
Buy from a reputable dealer like Green Gadgets who will offer a 30 Day Satisfaction Guarantee and a 12-month warranty:

You can select the quality you want, and also consider upgrading to Pro or Pro Max.
I was very happy with my iPhone purchase from them.all above have valid points, dont forget to look at screen.
make sure its not replaced because non genuine screen will stuff your true tone and auto brightness.
also the face ID will be effected.
DONT FALL FOR
the screen is replaced but not registered or the like, of you replaced a screen in an iphone, regardless if brand new OEM or like for like replacement (second hand) you have to connect to apple services to register and validate, of this doesnt work then your stuff of you want any of the above features to work.
also this can be an issue for nearly all hardware, i can understand what apple does this but its something to know and understand about before you start asking what my phone doesnt auto dim/ brighten of face unlock doesnt work.
If you go thru one of the reputable refurb sites you will get a decent warranty.
Early last year I bought a 15 off ebay for my daughter for $1,100. Advertised as new and sealed and indeed it was. Perfect and a bargain.
About a month ago I got a call from police telling me it was part of a large batch of Apple and Samsung stolen phones and asking me for details about how I bought it and the ebay seller. I was happy to help with screen shots etc. Fortunately they aren't interested in trying to recover the phone itself but certainly a potential issue with ebay sellers.
if you are getting a refurbished then only from the apple store.
A box and phone that says iPhone 15
