Superloop Increased Price + 2-Year Price Pause for 100/20 Plan

Hey all,

Just wanted to get your thoughts with the new changes to Superloops Internet.
Got this email today:

On your first bill cycle after 2 June 2025, the price of your 100/20 Mbps plan will be adjusted to $95/mth. We're providing 30 days' notice so you'll see it on your next bill without any surprises.

but also

A 2-year price pause: Introducing Superloop’s PriceLock 100/20 Plan.
We know cost of living pressures are hitting harder, so we’re actually doing something about it! Introducing Superloop’s PriceLock Plan. Pause the price of your internet by signing up to our $89 PriceLock Plan on a 24-month term and enjoy no price changes for two whole years – how refreshing! T&Cs apply.

Initially, was thinking that its alright for people who dont want to jump and change plans all the time…
BUT, with NBN changes coming later this year, was wondering, is this just a way to get people to lock into a more expensive contract for longer…

Just going to keep riding month by month as currently on discounted plan, but just wanted to hear people thoughts.

Thanks

I swapped from Superloop 100/20 $85/m to Spintel 250/25 $80/m and have had no issues. I believe it's mainly ideal for those living in Sydney, and we'll all get a significant speed bump in September'ish due to NBN upgrades.

    • Ehh.. Isn't amazing considering only 6 months, or can you call and get constant discount price.

For 6 months, then $89.95 ongoing*

$80 Month For life of Plan

It's perpetually $80/month via link above.

    • SpinTel is shocking if you ever have an issue with your connection fyi

The 2 year price lock sounds like a 2 year contract….

    • it is contract with extra steps

      My favourite line:

      Maximum Early Termination Charge $640.80

  • I was offered the same plan. It's 24 months lock in contract

Early termination charge is calculated by $89 × remaining months x 30%

I was also informed that we will get a speed bump in September by NBN to 500/50 Mbps.

    • As for the speed bump, would this apply to this plan though.. technically they wouldnt have to, right.

      • I was specifically told about the speedbump by their retention team. If they don't, retention team and i will have to share some angry emails…

        • I see.
          Thanks

          • @Zuelly: Just got an email from Superloop. The speedbump is comming soon.

Starting in September this year, as an eligible customer we are upgrading the speed of your current plan, and you will move from your 100/20 Mbps plan, to our 500/50 Mbps* plan, at no additional cost!

      • Yeah 100/20 gets boosted to 500/50 if your nbn is FTTP or HFC.

I phoned to cancel superloop after the price rise and they offered me a discount to $89/month for 12 months (250mbs) then a week later sent me an email that they had reviewed my pricing and it would actually still be increasing to $94/month…. immediately put in 30 day notice to cancel.

      Literally just did the same.

Same thing happened to me, now waiting for EOFY deals

  • Any alternatives to Superloop?

    How is Southern Phone?

Any recent feedback from customers with Southern Phone

Buddy Telco or Leaptel would be my pick.

      • From what I am reading online, other than shit support, is Spintel really that bad…
Is there something to do with routing all going through the same place, or poor routing internationally… Does this matter?

        • Poor routing can make a difference. SpinTel should be ok in NSW. I wouldn't use them if you live anywhere else.

          • @Twix: I’m Melb… has been fine so far.. (granted I haven’t been billed yet, lol)

  • I am looking for 250/100 home or business plan as the wholesale price of 250/100, 00/40, 250/25 approximately around the same price point of $62

Also the price of the 50/20 Mbps plan will be adjusted to $85/mth :(

    • Yeah, my father just got this email. Looking for something decent which will still get decent consistency for southern coastal NSW

Yeah time for me to move away from Superloop.

Not interested in a 2 year plan.

  • I just found this post as I also received the Superloop increase and price lock discount offer (24-month contract). I called them to see if this would also LOCK me out of the NBN speed bump. I'm currently on the $89 p/m 100/20. The first webchat person I spoke with said id be locked in on 100/20. I called them and they also didn't really know but ended up going to another area and said I would be locked into 100/20. Decided to look around at other telcos for EFOY deals and Superloop still offering decent prices for new peeps - called them up again and this time spoke with retention team. They confirmed that I WOULD get the speed bump in September if I locked in. They also offered a discount for 6 months no lock in to put it at $90 a month for 6 months.

not sure what I want to do now. I can't see them dropping the price once the speed tiers actually increase and can't be bothered trying to change telco every 6 months.
thinking I might just take up the lock in and if I don't get the speed bump. start rioting.

  • What's the best day to cancel superloop in terms of the 30 day notice, want to move to buddy
