  • Thx op do u know if u can delay delivery?

    • I don't think so, looking at past comments and there is nothing I can see in cart.

Edit: You could try and write something in the 'special instructions' but I wouldn't count on it.

      • +3

Thx won’t risk just got some from my subscription with them. I pay about the same fortunately but only get once a month so have to buy elsewhere as I need 2 bags per month.

    • +3

No. I learned my lesson from one of the previous deals.

    • Curious what the benefits of delays delivery?

      • +2

Perhaps you just bought a bag of coffee that lasts you a month. Then you order another bag from this deal. That second bag of coffee is going to sit around for a while and will be old by the time you get to the bottom of the bag.

I have staggered delivery with Lime Blue before. I bought 3 bags and had them delivered separately a month apart.

        • +1

Freeze the bag, James says so and I've been doing it successfully for years

        • Oh right the roast dates, forgot ab9ut that, thanks

  • +3

I quite enjoy the Downtown for milk based coffees.

    • It's my daily at home bean of choice at the moment too.

  • +8

Delivery fee is going up monthly!

    • That's true as well.

    • +7

Have you looked at the price of express post lately, it's daylight robbery with no guarantee of next day delivery. We pay more for less service now.

      • I think they reinstated next day delivery guarantee? I know during covid they suspended it; but have postage refunded when supplier's next day delivery failed and they claimed it through auspost … ?

        • This is the first time I’ve heard of being able to claim for missing delivery guarantee , I should look into it as azukay is right, price going through the roof but service somehow managing to be worse. Especially with their automated size checking unfairly stitching up small business. I over declare size by at least 1cm on L x w x h and round up to full 100g and they attempted to ping me quite a few times.

          • +1

            @Jimothy Wongingtons: https://auspost.com.au/disruptions-and-updates/domestic-serv…

Next day delivery was reinstated for express post on 18 September 2023. If the sender and recipient are within the next day delivery network (most metro areas) sender get's postage back.

I live just within the network boundaries, but it never arrives on time. If I order through a seller and it fails to meet it; I ask them to claim the refund from AusPost …

            • +1

@MorriJ: One of my customers received the express post parcel 5 days later and blamed us for it saying we entered the wrong postcode on the package… And when she received it, it had the correct postcode.

I frequently post from Sydney to Melbourne, and they get it 2 days later frequently. So the guarantee is just a load of crud. I use prepaid envelopes. Price of prepaid keeps going up 50c every few months and it's ridiculously expensive now. I get why people institute minimum buys. Also the old medium bag is same size as the new large. And then they introduced a XL size that's a slight bit bigger than the old large. Shrinkflation even hits the PO

The only positive is all the bags have weight limit of 5kg even for small to xl. Though I frequently go over 5kg for XL and my local PO don't really care.

              • @azukay: Don't let them ride you like a jockey.

Their policy is to reimburse for next day delivery failures. For 4 years during covid, they suspended it - since reinstating it, I've never let them get away with it; either as a customer receiving item or a sender.

In fact; Ive had them send me satchels as receiver when I've explained the vendor won't chase them for it and that I paid extra on my invoice for next day and it didn't arrive on time.

Missing my regular supply of Airjo. Might have to get some Downtown to keep me going. The Woolies beans I'm on atm are so boring.

  • +2

    Finally a 60% off!

  • Thanks OP! Bought 1

  • Shame free shipping wasn't $50, just bought 1 rather than 2

    • +4

Shame free shipping wasn't $50, just bought 3 rather than 2

Have tried Inglewood and prefer Lime Blue. It's still good coffee though.

  • +2

Thanks, got 1kg downtown our fav for milk coffee

  • Perfect timing!

  • Is $82 for a 1kg bag of coffee beans normal? I don't usually buy coffee beans!

    • Not for this coffee it's extremely low quality. My cafe is $40 a kg everyday and they'll be making a sweet sweet profit off that.

      At $24 it's a Bargain though.

$82 coffee is even more than st Ali!!!! You could get some amazing coffee for even $60

I think they’ve changed their Sunset Blvd recipe in the last couple of months. Not a fan of it anymore

    • +6

Beans, like wine grapes…will always be different each season.

    • Its a blend so depending per season it will change

    • Sunset Blvd has changed and now includes beans from china. I think the new blend is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Switching back to Aldi Lux.

  • -3

    No organic?

    • Interested in some info on this. My wife prefers to lean towards 'organic' but my argument is that independent roasters are probably a better overall product than big brand organic offerings.

      • +1

Coffee is one of the most sprayed thing we consume. If you try to avoid pesticides then organic would be a good choice.

  • -1

Mother day they had 50% plus free express delivery to NSW.

    • +8

Please post it as a deal next time :)

The last 2 orders of Roosevelt were inconsistent and not as good as the one's I've ordered in the past. I'm going to be shopping elsewhere.

    • Agree. I've tried everything and I can't get a good pour from the last batch. No crema. Beans are very dry. Something has changed…

  • I bought Inglewood for my sister and BIL. 1kg gift when it was 50% off.

They tried it and asked me to take it back.

They made me a cup and I understand what they mean. I can drink Inglewood but it's not something I enjoy.

    They are used to Campos.

I had a roast recently and went through about 400g before I enjoyed it. It was an heirloom Ethiopian varietal.

Just took an awful lot of tweaking to finally nail it. Not only was the grind a real challenge for me, but I needed to pay a bit of attention to the temperature too - I found that pouring a little cooler than I had been worked. Once I figured that all out, it went from being ok but ordinary, to wow!

Some roasts just seem to be harder than others. I've had beans that are very forgiving, and others that take a bit of work. Not the best for highly automatic machines though….but I'm sure Inglewood has something to suit most everyone.

      • My palate doesn't seem to sync with the more aromatic/higher acid coffees. I had all sorts of bother with 'Bloom' and I went through 250g before I had something that was drinkable (but not 'wow').

We alternate between LB Brazilian, Inglewood Roosevelt and Inglewood Downtown. Very minimal adjustments when switching over (& might be as much to do with freshness as anything else). All there coffees are at the earthy/chocolaty end of the flavour spectrum. Work well for the relatively strong flat whites that we required in order to get going each day!

        • Just ordered their current Bloom roast…so hopefully I can get something out of it!

  • Thanks! Bought a 1kg bag of Downtown beans keen to try them out! 4.9/5 star reviews setting the expectation quite high!

  • +1

Have they sorted their bags out yet? One thing lime blue has over these guys apart from delayed delivery is zip lock bags which make storage much easier!

    • The 1kg bag is not resealable. Not sure about the others.

  • bought one to taste. $29.8 include shipping

  • Thanks. Managed to get free shipping with 3kg

  • Thank you OP
this 60% off managed to send the average price below $30/kg
also prime opportunity to try out their more premium blends and single origin roast
    ordered 3kg , free shipping
gone big for their reserve list and more premium roast this time
EOFY coffee order sorted early this year! yippy :D

  • I bought the sticky chai (1 KG) last time, but it looked dry and not fresh.

  • How does this compare to the Aldi (premium) brands?

    • It really depends, switch between these to mix things up

    • We even just went through 2kg of Aldi Columbian beans. They're not bad but not great - it's $22 coffee lad - same as this stuff.

There is a lot better but tbh id probably go the Coles beans at $12 to save money if that's the mission.

    • My usual is the Aldi medium blend or Columbian or Brazil. I do get Inglewood's Downtown and Sunset Blvd when there is one of these 50% specials. The Aldi beans are pretty good, but I can definitely taste the difference with these being superior tasting.. but again that can come down to grinder and proper prep etc..

  • Well the girlfriend is going to be pissed about another 2kg of coffee beans floating around :)

    • +1

      Find a new girlfriend.

Not a big Coffee drinker but I feel like my local market sells freshly ground beans for ~25kg… IDK

    • That's very helpful, thanks.

      • Yeah Footscray Market has a guy that definitely sells a wide variety of beans for $30 or less a kg

  • Good value. Thanks

  • -6

Your company had a 'free coffee' promotion (around two years ago).

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/786005

Many prospective customers sent their personal details and you guys did not fulfill your promises.

    • +1

…. and now prospective buyers should read the comments in the post you linked (there's a decent summary on the last page) so they can see what really happened

      • +1

Ha….hadn't seen that. A few sour grapes there.

  • -1

Ok thanks, I'm having trouble finding the summary. Could you please link it? Cheers!

    • Literally at the top of the last page (3)

      • -1

        If you're referring to this:

"Mod 7/7: The deal technically expired 15 June. We will see if the deal is still honoured in the coming days, if not it will be unpublished. If you sign up now, please be aware you might not receive anything.

Mod 11/7: Users have received shipping notice of their free beans.

Mod 24/7: New dates in terms:

Promotion period start: 24th July 2023 12:00 am AEST
        End: 7th August 2023 11:59 PM AEST"

Sorry, but I submitted my order within the timeframe and, like many others have clearly stated on THE LAST PAGE, did not receive them.

        • I received mine, a whole kilo for free even though it was after the deal originally ended.

        • Since you can't seem to use a browser properly, here's the top comment:

A bit harsh mate!! OP from OZbargain seen a billboard in his local area saying free coffee beans and he let us know about it a month ago and plenty of us got the free beans. Then the business took the link off, couple of weeks later someone discovered that the link is active again, then you applied and did not get your free beans as business probably overwhelmed by the amount of people that supposedly seen the billboard and they are now ensuring people are following the terms and conditions. So don't understand why you are asking the Rep to be banned, as he never got involved in this whole post…

      • Additionally, while you're on the third page, you may want to check numerous comments from customers that DID NOT receive their beans.

  • thanks ordered a kilo for pick up as i live in the next suburb

  • Hmm. Wonder if the "First 500 orders only" is true. Offer is still available.

    • Seems unlikely. Saw an ad for this on social media as well.

      • +1

Maybe they're just a lower volume seller

    • Sometimes businesses include that clause to cover themselves, in case for whatever reason they can't meet the demand.

If there's profit to be made and there's no supply and logistic issues, they would most likely continue.

  • The extra 10% covers the shipping charge, so just see it as 50% off with free shipping, and bonus 10% off if you can pickup.

Ordered 2 bags, tempted to get 3 for free shipping but resisted.

I wonder why Sydney roasters don't have online presence and don't do sales. There are few good ones at Marrickville and Surry Hills.

  • Can confirm still active. These guys do great beans at least as good as lime blue etc (imo probably better)and sub $30 delivered to Sydney is a bargain at the moment.

    • +2

IMO Inglewood is better, subjectively the best among deals on here. There's a very distinct aroma after.

  • Expired?

  • May be it hit 500 order quota already, as I dont seem to get the discount.

  • +1

    mine still hasn’t shipped

    • +1

Yeap almost a week and mine still hasn't shipped.

  • Mine arrived this morning, I paid the extra $1 to "jump the queue"

    • Paid $1 extra as well and arrived today (Sydney).
      Downtown roast date 12/05.
      Decaf roast date 15/05.

    • I paid the extra $1 and still yet to be shipped..

I won't purchase from them again since their beans are sub par in my opinion.

  • Still have half a bag, so they can take their time, as long as they will send out fresh batches.

  • +1

Inglewood is my go to daily bean but it's time for them to have resealable bags.

Also would be good if they were better with shipping. It's been nearly a week and still not yet shipped.

  • going to need to visit Aldi as I'm almost out of beans, and still no shipping from this deal……

  • +1

First time order from Inglewood for me. Probably last. I've bought three coffee varieties, today I received the package and tried the Sunset Blvd blend.

Sunset Blvd is terrible, tastes like ash and dust.

I've got the coffee dialled in, I tried 3 times and even with milk, this blend tastes like dirt with ash.

I've still got the Roosevelt blend and Honduras Espresso Roast to try. I hope those are better, otherwise this was a waste of money. The Sunset Blvd blend is easily the worst coffee I've had in the last 5+ years.

    • I should also add, that unlike the other two bags, the Sunset Blvd blend didn't even have a roast date or batch number.

    • I've had Roosevelt a few times and it's pretty solid, I don't think I've tried Sunset Blvd.

Also grabbed a Blossom but haven't cracked it open

      • This morning I took out the Sunset Blvd blend beans out of the grinder hopper and had a closer look. There's a significant proportion of quakers in there and the roast is not even. Some beans have scorch marks and burnt spots.

I vacuumed out the rest of the Sunset Blvd beans out of the hopper of my grinder and replaced them with Lime Blue Apple Crumble Blend. Huge difference! Now I have enjoyable coffee again.

I'll work on my courage and try the Inglewood Hunduras Espresso tomorrow. I had a look at the appearance of the beans and they are also unevenly roasted, but I'll reserve my judgement until the results are in the cup.

For what it's worth, I used to get better looking roasts out of my popcorm maker roasting setup years and years ago.

    • That doesn't sound right, just give them a call and they'll sort you out. Sounds like you got a lemon…
I haven't had it for a while but Sunset Blvd was a favourite at our place.

The other two should hopefully be good.

      • I tried the Honduras beans today and they are OK to good. Not a new favourite, but I'll be happy to drink the whole 1kg.

  • Still has not shipped a week later after ordering.
