Chief bottle washer was threatening to go on strike if I didn’t replace the worn out scrub mommy. Being in control of the finances I squirmed at paying $5 a sponge, especially when the kids will sometimes just chuck it versus giving it a good rinse and clean under the tap.
Anyway, found them for under $3 at chemist warehouse, so hopefully not fakes.

Oh no! Bummer, that’s what happens when you online shop and don’t know the nuances of the product. Hopefully they will be at least 50% as effective as the “original”. Thanks for the heads up.
Been there before!
stopped buying and using these scrub daddy/mommy crap! they shred so much microplastics its not funny!
every ktichen sponge has microplastics,
I'm fairly certain regular cellulose sponges don't have any whatsoever?
You don't rinse after scrubbing?
especially when the kids will sometimes just chuck it
I’m with the kids. Reusable sponges and hand towels are disgusting for kitchen use. Dishwasher and disposable paper towels is where it’s at.
Do like the Scrub Daddy for around the house however. Just not where food is involved.
You use disposable paper towels to wash up dishes in the sink instead of sponge/scrubber?
Rinse stuff under the tap if needed, then into the dish washer.
For stuff that needs a wipe like fry pan, yes, paper towel.
I haven't used a sponge for many, many years. I see them like bars of soap. A thing of the past.
Your bottle-washwer is spoiled. Only 47c each here:
https://www.coles.com.au/product/coles-simply-foam-sponge-sc…Even the Chux brand product is only $1 in a 3-pack, and you don't need to visit the sensory horror that is chemist whorehouse.
huh … i just noticed how Chux sell 3-packs at Coles and 4-packs at Woolworths. But they don't even price-match.
It's so they can say "Exclusive to Woolworths" on the label and make the customer feel like it's somehow special. They have different sized Weetbix boxes at the different duopoly-shops for the same reason.
Essentials is too thin, half the price for half the sponge
Are you using it for baby bottles? My normal sized scrub mommy did not last long at all when i used it on bottles. When you clean the teat ring thing, the edge wears it down, when it starts to shred then it falls apart so quickly from there
You dun goofed, this is the essentials line which is thinner than the normal scrub daddies that go for $5 at Coles.
