Very good entry level speakers recently released from Edifier. Have a pair and produce very clean audio, don't have great bass (not an audiophile). Has received very good reviews.

Have bluetooth 5.4, so can play music from your phone and equalizer app from phone.

  • How do these compare to creative pebbles? I use built in speakers at the moment so even creative pebbles will be an upgrade for me (although personally theyve been fine to me)

    • +2

I don't have first hand experience. But looking at comparisons with the MR4 (which the MR4 generally wins out on) I would say these are better. Again bass is not as good though, so depends on what you like to listen to.

These also have bluetooth 5.4, so can use them as standard bluetooth speakers.

Can you just plug these directly into your pc using the 3.5mm headphone jack?

    • +3

Yes, using them on my PC

  • Decent price

  • Would this be suitable for an electric guitar digital effect that simulate amp+cab for practicing at home in a normal sized room?

    • +1

      Of course.

      I would recommend this:
      https://www.nuxaudio.com/mighty-air.html

I have one and can vouch for it. Dont know if your budget allows, but check out the reviews for other guitarists on uTube. It's the cheaper option than going with the heavy hitting brands.

      • Thanks for the recommendation! I do already have a line 6 pod go that simulates/models amp+cab. Just needed a speaker to use for practicing at home, as I prefer a speaker than a headphone monitor

  • Just get the MR4 for cheaper. Size should not be too different.

    • +1

I had to do some digging to find the difference.

      MR3 has bluetooth. MR4 doesn't.

      MR3 is 18W x 2 (RMS), MR4 is 21W+21W (42W RMS).

MR3 is High res, MR4 is not.

MR3 looks better in my opinion. MR4 is $16 cheaper at the moment.

I think both can drop in price maybe $80/$70. they look ok at the front but seem pretty cheap at the back, one speaker is connected with the cheapest looking wire available.

      MR4 currently $109

But everything n3ck said plus m3 is smaller.
      MR3: 125.5mm x 220mm x 176mm

      MR4: 140 x 228 x 184 mm

Audio wise MR4 has slightly better bass, otherwise MR3 slight better clarity. Both probably will sound very similar.

aw yeah thanks I literally had the size in back of my mind, thinking of adding at the end of my comment and forgot my bad.

  • +3

    looking like klipsch speakers

  • Decent speakers, was going to get the HD4 but for my use case probably unwise to pay 4 times the price.

Also got this TRS cable to go with it: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00ZKM3S4S

And a pair of speaker stands: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007484897453.html (was $5 shipped welcome deal, price has gone up.)

  • How does this compare to the R1280DB

  • White ones not on sale? Showing up as $156.

    • White one is sold and shipped by Amazon.

  • Kef colourway?

  • Oh dang I just bought a pair of these today for $142 off eBay. But they were white, looks like only black gets the extra 10% off

    • +1

white is more desirable atm for all white setup.

just coming from me who can't afford new PC so literally spent about $150~$200 making everything else look nice. 🥰

      • White’s the way to go. Looks so much better. Blends into the room, if you’ve got white walls and white/bright furniture.

  • +1

how's em compare with Voll speakers? they're similarly priced

    • +1

Similar speakers… This is just your regular ozb sale.

  • Where do you all connect and keep these speakers? I am thinking of using them as speakers with my DJ system. Are these great for that or am I better off getting something else?

    Thanks

  • Decided to get the Edifier M60 (white) based on reviews, smaller size, better looks, more powerful amplifier, slightly better bass.

Admittedly, the MR3 also has some pros over the M60, but the M60 with $10 coupon code is currently only $53 more than the white MR3, and the smaller size is important for me with 3 monitors and 2 computers on the desk already.

  • Do you think the MR4 has better sound over this MR3? The price is $129.

I read heaps of reviews last night. Apparently, the MR3 has better clarity (better sound overall), while the MR4 has slightly stronger bass.

MR4 is bigger, and does not have bluetooth though. If these things aren't important to you, and you want white speakers, you'll save $38 by buying the MR4, which currently have a $10 coupon code by clicking the box.

      • If you want any bass whatsoever then you need a sub to go with either of these (and with every other small-driver speaker set), so don't focus too much on that particular point 👍

        • They have a bit of bass. Obviously not comparable to a subwoofer, but if you're getting them for a desk/computer setup, where do you put your sub? I'm actually getting rid of my 2.1 system because I got sick of having so many wires everywhere and having to keep my subwoofer on the floor under the desk.

When I want to listen to music with strong bass, I'll go to the living room where I've got a better setup.

        • Does the mr3 and mr4 has a sub out connection?
