Monitor Pros: 120Hz, 32”, 4K, 99% sRGB, 95% DCI-P3, price
Monitor Cons: VA panel, not 240Hz lol, no USB-C option

For macOS users like me, I highly recommend BetterDisplay (US$15). Why? Due to Apple macOS Display Scaling DPI 4K Resolution Issue.

I bought this monitor on 17th April 2025. Here's what I think of it so far:
* Pros: price is good for it's size.
* Cons: color shift if you're looking at it from the side due to the VA panel. IPS will solve this problem but most of the time they're more expensive.

Do I regret it? A little, but at this price point it's hard to find something cheaper and better / with IPS.

IPS alternative (32" 4K 60Hz but no height adjustable stand): https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lenovo-l32p-30-31-5-ultra…. Price of the Lenovo one when it's on sale is $409 + Delivery: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/901731

If you do decide to buy the Lenovo L32p-30 + height adjustable stand (support 8kg or more), you might need to get some M4 x 10 mm screws.

  • Attach the mounting bracket from the VESA compatible wall mounting kit.
(100mm x100mm distance), the type of VESA mounting screw is M4 x 10 mm.
  • For use only with UL Listed Wall Mount Bracket with minimum weight/load: 8kg

    • Good point! Let me add that to my post. Thank you!

The alternative that you mentioned (L32p) also has USB-C, and has been at sub $400 many times, which I think is better than this Dell for office use

    • I nearly bought the Lenovo one myself but part of me don't want the hassel to buy a good monitor stand so it can be height adjustable. I also wanted to try out the 120Hz because it's 2025 so I went for the Dell instead 😂

      • +1

height adjustment is important for me also

        • In an alternate universe, I would have bought the Lenovo 4K 32" & a decent height adjustable stand that supports 8kg+ & some M4 x 10 mm screws and I would probably be very happy as well……if not happier 😂

  • I just got Lenovo L32P. Very old model but still surpass new models at this price

I've done my homework on the Lenovo one, to the point where I researched the monitor stand that can support 8kg monitor + what screws it needs. For some reason I wanted 120Hz more than IPS so I went to Dell. I'd love to buy both to compare side by side……

Not sure about this one in particular, maybe it’s super budget and a bad panel, but in general the viewing angles on VA are a non-issue on most modern panels. It may even be a benefit for non-gaming use due to the deeper blacks and higher contrast.

        • The Dell S3225QS is for my wife actually and I'm using the Dell S2722QC myself. I love the IPS color but not the IPS price. Since she don't care too much about the color etc. hence I bought her the S3225QS 😂

Could you please elaborate on how you use Better Display?

  • Is it good for gaming? I have PS5 pro and waiting for my Switch 2 coming next month?

Sorry I don't have any consoles to test it out. If you care about color etc. then no I wouldn't recommend this, I'd go for IPS (more $) or even OLED (way more $$$). But if you just want something cheap (under $500) that can do 120Hz then this is not bad?

  • Tempting. My current 27" just died randomly after 1 yr. Worked Friday, won't turn on Sunday. RMA initiated.

I have 2 of earlier model Dell S3221QS at my office.
VA is no IPS quality and no usb-c, but at half the price I'm not complaining.

+1. Comparing my Dell S2722QC (IPS) and my wife's Dell S3225QS (VA) side by side, the IPS panel looks way better even though it doesn't matter to us most of the time as we're not photo / video editors.

S2722qc is good for general use, I had one couple years ago. Pretty happy with it.

A note about the Lenovo L32p, it signals HDR support even when HDR is disabled. Newer versions of Windows 11 now let you clamp to sRGB even with HDR displays, but this was previously limited to non HDR wcg displays.
No idea how the Dell behaves.

I know this is quite a niche case, But there are some ways to get the Odyssey G7 G70D down to around $500. It also requires bundling an SSD (you could sell it afterwards if you don't need it) and trading in an old monitor, which you can get off marketplace quite cheaply if you don't have one lying around.

    As follows:
    https://shop.samsung.com/au/p/LS32DG702EEXXY
    - Look for the memory 10% off order deal on the page, select your choice. I chose 1TB 990 Pro.
    - Select trade-in, you get $100 credit regardless of size or condition (though I'm trading in a working one just to be safe, read the terms yourself to be certain).
    - Talk to Samsung chat, make sure you are signed in to your account. Tell them you are looking to buy the monitor but you want to get the best price. They should give you a 10% code.

Edit: Also 5% off if you use the Samsung Shop app for the first time.

I had some rewards points from the S25 Ultra deal a month or so ago, so I used some rewards points, I think it was like $24 worth. YMMV.

Total order was $630.48, or $475.20 for the monitor and $155.28 for the SSD. It is 99% sRGB, IPS, and 144Hz. Also smart TV interface if you want it (Tizen :/).

  • Last time I checked 15% discount on $498.90 should bring it down to $424.07.
Sounds like it could be a dodgy UP to 15% MPP discount? Where they clickbait you into checking it out thinking you will get 15% but in fact its far less (only about 6.5%)

  • Apply code DNCPAU11 for $487.52 without MPP.

Just got this monitor to replace my seven year old BenQ EW3270U, after it began flickering and cutting out at anything above 50% brightness.

Coming from the BenQ, this monitor is noticeably brighter (when my BenQ wasn't faulty) and the colours seem to pop more.

Text is sharp, contrast is fantastic and to get 120Hz at this price (and size) is fantastic.

There's no dead/stuck pixels to speak of (thankfully).

DxDiag shows a max luminance of 315cd/m² (above Dell's claim of 300cd/m²) but honestly this monitor is a bit blinding particularly in a dark room with brightness cranked up to max.

It's also HDR compatible, looks fantastic in CyberPunk 2077 but obviously being limited to 315cd/m² HDR gaming is not really its forte. Still, highlights pop and I'm satisfied with its performance.

Some things I've noticed - being a VA panel there is some shift in brightness when moving off centre but it's not a massive deal (you get used to it). Also, there can be some colour change/blur when scrolling quickly though menus when gaming, but again it's not too bad (only slight) and only seems to show up occasionally.

You can adjust the response time between normal/fast/extreme but I haven't tried that yet.

The monitor is FreeSync compatible and works between 48-120Hz. Would be nice if it went from 40Hz, but hasn't really been an issue yet.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the monitor, it's a definite upgrade over my EW3270U and seems to be a decent budget 4k/120Hz monitor.
