    What is the best recent PS5 game? I'm getting a bit bored of the games on PS Plus. Only playing Skyrim and AC Valhalla currently.

      Clair Obscur expedition 33 (I've not yet played. Getting it soon. But my brother rates it as one of his top 5 games. And he plays a lot of games lol)

      Split Fiction is amazing with a partner/friend

      Oblivion remaster potentially if skyrim is your vibe

      Ive been replaying last of us 1/2 slowly as well (remake/remaster)

        Yeah I've finished Last of Us 1 & 2 (the only games I've ever finished).

        Will look at Expedition 33 and Oblivion if not too expensive, although I'm interested in whether they will run better on PC. Also may check out AC shadows.

          Yes so you can play the brand new Mario Kart, Mario and Zelda game.

          Glad they're being innovative and really doing new things with their one new big game a year. Good value.

    for pro, you better have a 65 inch up oled tv, or some big oled monitor. then just buy 850-950 ish from marketplace and sell your base ps5, cos many bought it without the puoper tv/monitor ready, they sell it.

      Yes - it will be the best platform to play GTA VI on because it is more powerful that the Xbox Series X and Base PS5, and GTA VI won't be released on PC until some stage after the Console versions release.

    Considering the price of this, I don't think I'll end up getting a PS6 even if it was around the same price. I don't play enough games these days to justify paying this amount on top of PS+ and the general price of games themselves. Glad I bought the standard PS5 disc console when I did though.

    Hi there, old millennial here - is this the machine I will need for GTA6 or is a new one coming out by then? Do I get this now or wait? Back in my day the DVD was the scarce component and the machine was easy to get, but from what I heard over the last few years is the machine has been hard to get and the games all come through the Internet now.

    I have a 4090 and ps5 base. Honestly even the base version is fine. Yes my pc pumps out 240fps with DLSS on ultra or balanced mode on. But the PS5 does its variable thing and pumps out 120 on lower, less quality kity graphics, but barely noticeable on cod given how fast it is. It actually shocks me how good the PS5 does.

    Now my ps5 is getting its powersupply fixed, we have turned on the old Xbox one X so my kid can play their.. Surprisingly still pretty good but lower quality textures but I am surprised. Graphics have just hit that point.

      I have a pretty good pc with 4070ti but need more justifications to buy a ps5

        Ive got a 3070 build and even if my PC was higher end id still have a ps5.

        My reasons -

        I barely use my GPU to potential as is, run most games on low just because im a fps sucker.

        Ps5 exclusives/library

        Friends to play with

      You correct graphics "have hit that point" making holding onto last gen consoles more reasonable. There's little difference between having 2000 polygons for a nose and 10,000. But back to 1993 and there was a big difference between 3 and 15.

        100% agree. When the PS5 broke last week, we turned on my old ps4 and although cod ran passable.. RdR2 looked amazing.. I was genuinely impressed.

      Meanwhile I remember paying $700 for a launch PS1 back in 1995 - which in inflation-adjusted value is
      $1,526 in 2025 dollars.

      Actually with regards to the PS3 - you piqued my curiosity so I just did the calculation. The 60gb OG Fat Unit was launched in Australia with an RRP of $999 in 2007, which in inflation-adjusted value is $1,610 in 2025 dollars.

      Nintendo single-handedly raised the roof on game prices with their $120 games.

      $100 for a recycled "switch 2" version of a game or pay to upgrade your switch 1 game to utilise switch 2 graphics.

      Charges money for a tech demo that's basically a user manual.

      Has a fit at Sony for overpricing. Lmao get yourself checked.

      I mean it's all perspective, look at all the gpu deals being posted $1250 for a 9070xt is an instant buy for most people.

    There is always a lot of negativity in any thread about the Pro. If you are truly ozbargaining - then no, stick with the regular PS5.

    I personally have the TV for it, and was happy to go all digital (the option to add a drive is nice). I traded against the Pro, broke even, cleared clutter. I didn't even bother re-installing my M.2 SSD. Upgraded in anticipation of upcoming games. I only have time to play a couple new releases a year, I otherwise wait for the sales or game catalogue.

    Work supplies my Macbook Pro, so I don't bother with a PC anymore. In my younger age - I probably would stick with the PS5 and continue breathing life into my cobbled together PC, but I left those days behind a decade ago. Maybe I'll return someday - but GPU prices are cooked these days haha.
