is that really 15w PD? feels a bit disingenuous

    • +2

That’s a red flag for some “USB-C” monitors that don’t actually support USB-C. It’s just there to connect mouse and keyboard etc.

    • Agree, it's easily missed and has no doubt caught out a lot of buyers of it

27” vs 32” which one for video/photo editing. Is it good as dell S2722QC? 4k vs QHD? How does it compare to HP monitor?

  • I'm still learning about different types of monitors and I'm looking for one for office at home. I found this Dell 34"
Have anyone had any experience with this monitor or recommendation for around 32-34 inch monitors?
    Thanks!

    • What's your budget? Do you need widescreen or is 16:9 enough?

      • I'm looking for one less than $1000, I'm not sure about the difference! I'm just using a 17" laptop and was thinking of upgrading to a monitor. I heard that curved monitor are better for your eyes alignment so I was looking at it!
        Thanks!

I heard that curved monitor are better for your eyes alignment. news to me i hate the curved monitor.. it changes the way your brain see's things and when you switch back to non curved the flat monitor looks like an inverted curve for a few days before your brain readjusts.

Anyways 32" IPS QHD is the way to go for an office monitor. this one is very well priced

To be honest curved monitors are just a gimmick for immersion.
If you're looking for just a simple monitor for office work, just get yourself a nice Dell IPS monitor. If it must me ultrawide then sure. Otherwise a nice 27inch Ultrasharp series (for colour work) or even just the simple S series will suffice.

If you must get a wide monitor such as the one you linked above, then sure. Alternatively there's plenty of other of decent monitors at different price points.

          Budget 4K 60Hz - Lenovo N27P - $300ish
Includes USB C connectivity and charging. Decent colour accuracy.

          Budget 4K 120Hz - Dell S2725QS - $350ish
Good cheap all rounder. You can spend $50ish more to get USB C connectivity

          Solid 4K 60Hz - Dell U2723QE - $650ish
Great USB Connectivity inc USB C Charging. Built in KVM. Great colours

It's all up to you and what you want.
There's no way I can go back to 1440P resolution monitors. But if you can then go for it and save yourself some money

          • @tempestswitch: Hi
Thanks so much for your knowledgeable insight! Its much appreciated :)
Oh I didn't know it was 1440P, the resolution is quite low. I'll look into the ones you suggested. Perhaps I may not need such a big screen, if 27 inch will do for office work and maybe watching movies. I'll check out the 4K models as I heard, like you said, it is better resolution!

          • @tempestswitch: You will as you get older .

    • 34 inch wqhd is the standard issue for all our office monitors. For office work and coding its very good. Office have the dell U series, personally for wfh i bought a refurbished dell S series same 34 inch wqhd, can't really tell the difference for what i need. The Pro P series is somewhat between U and S. Single Usb c works for charging laptop and displaying.

    • Our IT people evaluated literally hundreds of monitors from major suppliers, like dell hp and lenovo. This one in U series gets most users (5000+)approval.

  • Isnt this just the same as this LG 32" QHD IPS Monitor Retravision deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/905700 but you need to be a RAC Member for an extra 5% off?

No. This is a 5% off storewide offer. Extra 5% off for RACV members to combine for 10% off. Read before commenting.

To the people negging, feel free to explain why you are negging the correct information

        • +1

I think they just assume you can add the discounts on the other deal or that i could update that other deal with this new store wide 5% off offer.

          • @vid_ghost: Maybe. But it wouldn't be visible on the front page so people would not know about the cheaper price
