Its sad when $11 a booster is a deal.

    • i get them cheaper at the servo ( $7.50 ) than at any brick and mortar store

      • Are they legit?

        • i saw tins couple months back at a shell servo - legit

then i saw some "paldean' packs at an ampol - fake

          i wouldnt trust/buy.

  • Cheers OP, snagged one of the Prismatics

  • oh boy, have to close my eyes checking out. If not for my little boy, I won't be doing this.

Now do it again via guest checkout. 🤡

      • do they cancel multiple orders?

        • -1

Yes they do, EB are pretty serious when it comes to pokemon haha

scalping has killed my interest in this hobby

    • I took this photo yesterday for you

IMO EB doesn't get enough hate from people

Banter (the Australian distributors of Pokemon TCG) increased the RRP to $8.50/pack and $306/booster box earlier this year. (Source: Press-Start)

I'm assuming EB Games set them at $9/pack ($324/booster box) to offset EB World Plus Perk of 'Buy 10 get 1 Free'.

        • +2

Distros around the globe are raising the prices of stuff. Or making you buy even more stuff that just wont sell. It's so sad.

I wish pokemon would just handle it their selves. Surely they're at the size where they can easily afford to.

        • okay that makes sense then

        • If Banter increased RRP to $8.50/pack, I wonder how come Kmart and BigW sell them for $7 (when they have them in stock)?

      • +2

That’s just the pricing for 36 packs at $9 each?

The hate should be going to the Banter Toys if anything for gouging distributor prices.

    • +3

Agreed 100%. It's killed everything. Sneakers, Alcohol, Pokémon, Sports Cards, Beanies & Hats. Eventually there will be laws against this behavior.

I'm happy they limit to one per person, as always, the bots with their hacked residential proxies and one time use disposable credit cards will get around this.

      • and yet I still wonder why real Diamonds are overpriced. It's a business I've never understood. I mean, I understand the whole marketing scam of 'Diamonds are forever' and their link to 'love', but it's an area not regulated. Why Jewellers buy them for a really low price and sell them for high price. I could almost guarantee you that if you go to a jeweller now and pay $13k for a 1ct ring, take it back 6 months later, they will offer you $6k. They will polish it, put in a new box and resell for $13k. Why is that?

        • There's a monopoly and artificial scarcity on the world's diamond supply, on the background of one of the world's most successful marketing campaigns ever made.

This article dating back to 1980s explains the whole phenomenon, which is still happening to this day: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1982/02/have-yo…

Scalpers are even loading up on board games. Fantasy Flight have said they are not printing some of their older material so scalpers have bought up stuff and are trying to sell them at ridiculous prices.

It's kind of why I enjoy the mobile Pocket game, even as largely a F2P player. Yes, the gameplay is simplified, but it's just enough to get a taste for playing and collecting without completely abandoning the TCG. That and the occasional pre-release event. At times also booting up the old Game Boy TCG game (should also get around to playing the fan translation of the sequel).

        old Game Boy TCG game

I've sunk so many hours into that game as a kid…

        The music is so nostalgic.

Also available on Nintendo Switch with membership

        • Thanks, might get this for my little boy.

      • the GB TCG is great, I used to thrash that before TCGP came out and haven't touched it since

  • +1

wow I have finally been able to get prismatic. its two packs at rrp but hey better than nothing !

  • 1 tin, not worth the trip.

  • God damn buying Pokemon cards is addictive!

Pokemon still a thing in 2025?

    • +1

We all live in a Pokemon World

    • +1

yes they sell more then ever because of 30+ year olds scalping and wanting to find the most valuable collector cards.
you haven't seen the video of a group of grown adults following the pallet as it comes onto the floor then fighting over them??

I'm guessing in Australia they are planning to avoid this by doing pre-orders online. well it's not just happening with pokemon though people fight over fashion drops too. 🙇‍♀️

      • Wow, I didn't even know you can still buy pokemon lol.

      • You got a link to the video

      • Yeah, it's disgusting human behavior. Watching people with multiple bags of shoes lining up again and again for shoe drops at Nike stores is yuck.

        • oh yeah almost forgot. scalpers hit the limited edition Sonic the hedgehog game release too.
there are many versions of the limited edition, in japan at least. but only one on this particular website had every single extra limited item. online only but scalpers get around the limits.

  • Guys this is just tax on nostalgia. Nothing about this is really a deal.
