Ozito 1200W 35L Wet And Dry Vacuum $69.98 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store/ OnePass) @ Bunnings

670

Seems Bunings is price matching the full ALDI range now, saw this vacuum and already stock is getting low at my local. Personally have the 20L and it has been great, I have really punished it as well. In need of a replacement hose so upgrading to this instead. Biggest sell for me is the upgraded filter style.

As always with Ozito vacuums it might be worth buying extra filters straight away as they are special order and can take quite some time to arrive.

Product Description:

Power Take Off Socket
35L Stainless Steel Tank
Wet & Dry Vacuuming
Blower Function
Drainage Outlet
This Ozito Wet & Dry Vacuum with Power Take Off socket is perfect for cleaning up dirt and liquids from around the garage, workshop or patio. With castors for greater mobility and an easy transport carry handle it’s great for cleaning up around the home and shed after renovations or DIY projects.

The Power Take Off function automatically starts the vacuum when a connected power tool is switched on; simply plug the power tool into the integrated power socket and use the vacuum for dust extraction while you work. Wood shavings or leaves can also be blown into a pile for easy removal by connecting the hose to the blower port on the rear of the motor.

Other features include a durable stainless steel tank, a space saving accessory mount and a cord retaining carry handle to keep cables neat when not in use. The included floor tool attachment can be used on carpet and hard floors whilst the crevice tool allows you to vacuum in hard to reach areas.

  • Can i use this for my apartment or is it too loud?

    • +6

Just a crude filter -would be better to use domestic one especially if you get any airborn allergies

    • +6

These type of product especially in small room are uncomfortably loud

    • +1

Far too loud. Industrial use or cleaning up outside really. That is the job it is designed for.

    • its loud but it does an amazing job

    • +1

I doubt you'd fit a bed in it.

      • Definitely not a lot of Roomba in there.

And imagine what your friends would say….all of them would feel like they’d been sucked in to visit you.

  • I think regular price is $119?

    • that's correct

  • -1

Don't buy the 12L version, it's not big enough for wet vac anything serious.

    • +1

True, when cleaning up liquid they only fill up to halfway before the motor cuts off.

  • I checked the manual - 1200 watts is the max for the power take off.

    • +4

makes sense - you really don't want more than 2.4kW combined unless you upgrade the standard plug (e.g. 15A plug)

      • +1

took a second to understand what you meant but that makes perfect sense! Was hoping to run my CNC off of it but that itself is pushing 2400w so might just have to manually switch that one on and off :)

        • +1

i can recommend the Metabo Stop/Start Cordless Control for automatic vacuum control

    • Yeah it's a little too low for comfort, what if you encounter wind sheer while taking off. Wooosh and you are gone.

  • +2

Good vacuum used it for a reno, from memory they only have 30L replacement bags I had to put a brick under the 30L bag so it didn't tear away from the connection when it filled up

    • i have polystyrene foam from a packing box under mine to stop paper filter falling off.

  • +1

I was very disappointed with the quality of the suction. Very weak for domestic use.

    • Did you buy the 12L or this version? Power input isn't an indicator of suction power. For eg, the 12L version is 1250W but is only rated 175AW (air watts/suction power). The 20L/35L is 1200W but is rated 240AW. For yet another comparison the 15L Bosch is 1000W but 250AW.

I don't have any experiences using the 20L/35L versions. I do know the 12L is too weak for sanding. The Bosch is maybe just enough suction power. I used or tried to use them for small DIY jobs.

      • Looking at the 20L 1250W ryobi unit (which is extremely popular and has good reviews) - its flowrate isn't stated but it claims 17 kPa suction pressure - over double that of the ozito listed (7.5 kPa). Shopping around may be beneficial.

        • +2

This Ozito model ($69) is 18kPa, so more than the 17kpa for Ryobi 20L 1250W ($119)

  • is it good as a car vacuum?

    • I personally prefer 18v wireless but sure

    • Maybe for Matchbox ones. Might be hard to fit your four wheeled variety in there. Unless you own a Holden, in which cases it already sucks.

  • +3

Can you avoid using paper bags for dust pickup? Need a model that doesn't require this as those replacement bags will cost abit over time.

    These are 20L ones and $14… https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-20l-replacement-vacuum-dus…
These things will just increase over time and before you know it, a few tasks around the house is costing $15-20/yr in extra recurring fees each year that could be avoided in the first place.

    • Yeah I was gonna get one for the garage but realised I need filters and bags, not really enthused about that.

      • +2

i have a reusable bag, about $20 from Aliexpress. Empty it, wash it if you want.

        • Do you have a link for that at all?

    • Do you mean saw dust? or dust out of carpet?

I use the blue bag filter with no other filter (paper or otherwise).

  • I got one of these on clearance for $30. OK as a spare or for light use but doesn't compare for suction to my similar sized Shop-Vac in the shed nor the Henry in the house

  • Niiiiice price and I'm sure @Jimothy Wongingtons will agree.

  • Ozito one is better than the Aldi:

    • power take off (starts your vac automatically when a power tool is attached). This is a very useful feature for saws, sanders, routers…
    • Bunnings support, they will always have this or something similar to exchange when/if it c(raps itself.

I had a previous Ferrex that had the power take off. This feature stopped working and Aldi spent a week trying to sort it. You can just walk into Bunnings.

  • Great deal. Usually 25L is a good buy, but this is even better at 35L.

  • +1

I have the 20L one. The thing was abused with wet and dry tasks and it still going strong after 3 years. The only problem so far is some rusty bolts inside the drum. Recommended for the $.

    • Same here. Great for the jobs it is meant for. Perfect in fact.
      The only negs are:
you often have to hunt around for the bags that will fit, but not the one in the OP which seems to have better availability.
My unit if you tip it over it tends to break the seal so I have to turn it off and open it and then close it again. A bit annoying, but given price/performance not at all a real issue.

And it is really loud. Always wear ear protection.

Could I, in theory, use this to vacuum leaves from under my solar panels, or would it get clogged really quickly?

  • +1

If I don't do a lot of wood work/cutting of wood what other applications are people buying it for? The wet vacs always seem to have people raving about them but I just don't see the use case for myself. Wondering if I am missing something

    • Cleaning up dust from any Reno work, cleaning the car, cleaning the garage, sucking up water (not emergency as you would have to set up the intervals first) etc. anything heavier than dust hairs you normally get on floors.
But not a vacuum for normal vacuuming the house.

    • +1

I had a leak in the garage last winter. I had to remove the water from 3/4 of the floor every time it rained heavily. It was fantastic for it.

    • Could be used for spot cleaning carpet: Spray/wet carpet with a bit of shampoo and use this wet vac.

  • This or a Dyson V12

    • This or a dustpan and brush?

      • +3

This or wait for the wind?

        • +2

This or dunk the dog in soapy water and toss some biscuits on the floor?

  • This or the aldi one ?

  • -1

Specs look good, except it looks massive and not very portable.

  • Just ordered one. But going to order a spare filter I became nervous about all the reviews for people who got filters that didn't fit.. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-35l-wet-and-dry-vacuum-car…

  • Can this be used to vaccum leaves in the garden?

    • Yes, if they aren't too big.

  • +3

Lifesaver when my two inquisitive toddlers at the time took the grill off our sewerage overflow pipe (aka Overflow Relief Gully) down the side of the house and proceeded to fill it FULL to the brim with gravel. Went and bought this wet vac and sucked out bit by bit all the gravel…along the the contents of the sewerage system :/

  • Can anyone comment on whether this can be used to clean upholstery (car, sofas etc.) if I manually spray the cleaning solution and then use this? Any special attachment that can be used for upholstery?
I'm a lazy ass and the spot cleaners in the market (this one for example) have only 1L dirty capacity and it would take many trips to complete the whole car.

    • Pretty sure this will do fine. I do the same for carpet flooring.

  • These are Great, Had one years ago, same but with a Two inch Hose ( think drainage pipes/ Ag pipes)
Worked a treat until I Broke it. So back to the old Generic floor sucker.

For the next model, any chance at all for a " BLOWER " outlet as well,
Of course I'd like to see another Two Inch (metric 90mm?) pipe as well.

  • Has anyone found generic bags that fit these?
I am worried that Bunnings will not continue to stock these as time goes by

  • Sale ended

  • Bought the Aldi Ferrex one this morning. 5yr warranty and used it to empty standing water in a blocked dishwasher. Happy so far with it
