Not sure if targeted, but lower than the previous deal and equal to the ATL from the comments in that deal. Currently $499 at Lenovo, but popped up with an extra 15% coupon for me when I searched 'Lenovo Idea Tab Pro' in Chrome on PC and clicked the direct link to the Lenovo store. I cant get the 15% extra coupon to pop up for me.

    • +2

When it copies the code, it seems to add a space at the end. Trying deleting that. I had the same issue and that resolved it.

  • +5

How does it compare to this one from Aldi? (Apart from storage of course)

    https://www.aldi.com.au/product/lenovo-tab-p12-0000000000006…

Similar - the pro has better processor and bluetooth, micro sd…

      • +3

Wrong models (storage configurations) in your link.

The chipset in the Pro makes the P12 look like a dinosaur. I don't think it's fair to call them similar.

        • +2

Noticed the storage difference - there is no option to select a different model. But I agree on the chipset.

    • +4

      Totally worth the extra $75.
      2 years newer
      Higher resolution
      Better processor
      higher refresh rate
      GPS
      Expandable Storage
      Double the internal storage

      P12: MediaTek Dimensity 7050
      idea tab: MediaTek Dimensity 8300

7050 perform similar to Snapdragon 865. (flagship in 2019)
8300 perform similar to Snapdragon 8Gen1+ (flagship in 2022)

which is around 30% on CPU performance

can't bother to look up GPU or storage speed. the CPU performance alone made this 2 not worth comparing.

      • I believe comparing single thread performance is more relevant, as general use relies on this.

        • yea except 7050 sucks more in single thread.

          7050: 2 cores Cortex-A78 at 2600 MHz and 6 cores Cortex-A55 at 2000 MHz. 2MB L3 Cache
          8300: 1 core Cortex-A715 at 3350 MHz, 3 cores Cortex-A715 at 3200 MHz, and 4 cores Cortex-A510 at 2200 MHz. 4MB L3 Cache

30% or so worse on raw single threaded performance, plus older architecture. (ARMv8.2-A vs ARMv9-A), plus half L3.

GPU is about 1/4 of the performance.

  • +1

Worked for me. Although I don't really need one. I think it's a touch too big

  • +3

Well, I wish I had waited for this before buying on AliExpress. Oh, well, it arrived today and is a very nice tablet.

    • +1

Is the one on AE the same?

      • +10

Same tablet but in Chinese with a questionable warranty. You can mostly remove all the Chinese, but for only around $50 more (when you take the price of the pen into account), I would prefer to buy from Lenovo with an English ROM and full warranty. I guess I saved myself $50 so that's something.

    • +1

      Yes me too
I love my pad pro. Bit, fast, responsive
But I've had some issues and still having some. Like Amazon music won't install and Google One backup won't work.
I'm about to do a factory reset and rebuild. All the configuration and logins. Tried all the fixes for backup that I can find and no not. Google says it's the ROM. Not happy

  • +1

If you are not getting the coupon pop up, try on PC. It didn't work on mobile for me, but did on PC (Chrome).

  • Ah damn, it’s not amoled is it?

    • -5

      yes it is

    • I don't think so. Good screen (though not the brightest) by all reports though

    • LTPS

Appears to be LCD. Happy to be corrected but seems about right for the price.

  • +3

For those who don't get additional 15% offer.
It is $499 on Lenovo for education.
But with the code MAYTAB it becomes $449.
    May help somebody

  • i got on the previous deal (with the 15% off) - and yes try different browser if you dont get that offer.

One thing to note is that the screen is matte (I like it for less glare and better with the pen, though havent used that a lot yet)
Mainly media consumption for me, been very happy with it so far.

Just got a cheap protective case off amazon but there are fully blown keyboard ones available from lenovo too.

  • +11

Just bought one, had to use a PC on edge browser.

I also clicked through cashrewards hoping it would track and it did! So $382 is a great price after cashback

    • Oh wow wish I'd done that - though I was booking through the chat with the agent so I couldn't have. I didn't get the 15% off before I talked to the chat guy, maybe they decided to activate it after that 🤷‍♂️

      • -1

Coupons usually make the cashback ineligible. Just because it tracks doesn't mean it'll be approved.

        • +8

          https://www.cashrewards.com.au/store/lenovo

Cashback is eligible on codes generated by Lenovo on its website, even though they may not be listed on Cashrewards, provided last click before purchase is from Cashrewards.

        • Coupons usually make the cashback ineligible.

Only with a very few stores (Menulog and eBay are part of the list) - the vast majority of stores will track and cashback just fine with unlisted Coupons.

  • Difference between this and the aliexpress xiaoxin ?

    • The answer is almost always a bit cheaper, +/- componentry by 1 standard deviation and no local warranty.

      • -1

The answer is almost always a bit cheaper, +/- componentry by 1 standard deviation

Based on what? Identical hardware. Global release of the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2025.

        • I cant afford premium AI so you'll only get a second rate argument from me im afraid.

    • The Xiaoxin version does not have Nearby Share.

  • This would have been better for the global rom over the Aliexpress version

  • +1

Great find. Grabbed one. Good time to claim tax refund. Thanks OP!

      Est. Ship Date : 10/06/2025

      • +1

Same Estimated shipping date for me… Was hoping it would ship sooner than this (ordered on the 21st)

      • I too have a delivery of 10/06/2025. Was sure when I ordered it was 06/06/2025. Not a big deal I guess.

      • +1

Great news! Your order is on the way.

        • Same.

        • +1

Purchased a case and screen protector. Hope they are fit and good.

@One2Share: Let us know if you reckon the quality is alright once they arrive

            • +1

@Budginator: Previously owned an older mid range Samsung tablet so this is a good upgrade. IMO, great quality. Has a premium feel. Speakers are great. It's heavy but that's expected with a larger screen size. I got the keyboard/case as well and very happy. Nice to use. I've not had much experience with a pen before so can't say if it's good or bad. It's much lighter than the pen my iPad for work uses. Positive experience so far. Thumbs up from me.

            • +1

@Budginator: Case is ok, not outstanding but acceptable.

Returning the screen protector. As it has some water marks after putting on. Not sure if it's because of the matte screen or the protector itself. Anyone have screen protector put on for this model and willing to share their experience?

              https://imgur.com/a/gs9xCEP

      • +3

Just got a shipping notif too :D

    • I've noticed a difference between the matte screen and a regular (glossy) screen, and to be honest, I'm not particularly impressed.

In low-light environments, especially when the tablet displays a white background, the matte screen can give the appearance of a dusty or grainy overlay. This isn't actual dust—it's just a characteristic of the matte finish itself.

For anyone considering the matte model, it's worth being aware of this visual effect before making a purchase.

  • Can anyone talk me into buying this and not the 14" Tab s10 Ultra? I get buyers remorse regardless of choice.

    • The Tab Ultra would have a better screen, colour, contrast, brightness so better for watching/streaming movies etc.

      • +3

But 5x the price. Depends what you use it for but having a tab s8 I can't imagine what I'd do with a bigger and nice tablet. Covers all my grounds already

    • Hmm, what is the difference in price…..?

    • Buy this. Please buy this. You really need to buy this. Did it work?

    • +1

Well it is almost $2,000 cheaper…

  • +1

It has lagg between the stylus and what you see.

    • +3

Ohhhhh yeah i saw that in a review. Deal killer for me.

      • Link to the review that shows it?

    • I've read that the stylus actually works well, but I guess I'll see when it arrives. It's only a nice to have for me anyway

  • +1

Are these as smooth as an Ipad? Genuine question…

    • Interested to know this as well. Looking to ditch the iPad Pro (the only apple device I use) and move to an Android Tablet. No gaming or media consumption. Mostly PDF markups and using apps like Sketch, Concepts, etc.
Got the ipad mainly for apps like Morpholio Trace and Procreate, which are not available on Google Play but I think I will switch to alternative apps on the Google Play store.

Also, this one or Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ ?

      • +1

PDF markups and using apps like Sketch, Concepts, etc.
Got the ipad mainly for apps like Morpholio Trace and Procreate

Huh, if you're using a bunch of apps like these then the Android tablet won't be for you.

The Android tablets are awesome at general purpose tasks - but most serious tablet applications are iPad only. You won't find high quality tablet apps on the Play store.

  • As a price comparison the China version goes for around A$327 with a Standard display instead of Matte (you can get the Matte for more $$$) and no pen. Obviously with the Chinese version you'll lose local warranty but do gain a better ROM in terms of features (Lenovo put only the basics in global ROM) and more updates.

    • Obviously with the Chinese version you'll lose local warranty but do gain a better ROM in terms of features (Lenovo put only the basics in global ROM)

What features are missing in the global ROM?

      • Wondering this too..

  • +3

Nothing better than jumping on the OB bandwagon.

  • +3

Obligatory note that cashrewards are currently doing 10% cashback, and the terms state "Cashback is eligible on codes generated by Lenovo on its website, even though they may not be listed on Cashrewards, provided last click before purchase is from Cashrewards." So there shouldn't be any issues using the code.

Brings the price down to $285.59

    • +1

      +- $100

      • +1

Whoops. I blame fat fingers. Editing it now
Edit on the edit: Can't edit.

    • Thanks, Cashrewards tracking email came through. Fingers crossed.

  • +2

Got the extra 15% coupon to pop up via clicking thru Cashrewards site and just browsing to the tablet through the site. Also adblockers probably hiding the coupon, disabled my adblock and it showed up.

    it looks like this

  • Just want to let people know that this tablet comes with a very strong anti glare goating that can't be removed which works well with the included pen. However, I found it hard to get used to coming from an Ipad or other glossy screen devices.

    "12.7" 3K (2944x1840) LTPS 400nits Paper-like Anti-glare, 144Hz, Touch"

    • That really gets my goat…

  • This or the Aldi p12?

    • This is substantially more powerful, Aldi p 12 is 70 odd cheaper (not counting cash rewards if you get it). I chose this one but your use case might vary

  • I'm still waiting for mine to be shipped. Ordered 30/4 for $424.15. Supposedly shipping on 6/6

    • +2

Interesting. It mentions "Ships FREE within 2 weeks" on the website.

  • What do you your tablets for? I feel like I would watch an occasional YouTube video, but it would otherwise collect dust.

    • It's one of those things I use because it's there. I like it because it's larger and a more comfortable viewing experience even for browsing. I definitely wouldn't miss it if I didn't have it though. It's a very big want > need in my case. YMMV

    • +1

I've been in hospital a lot, and also not working due to a cancer diagnosis. I use a tablet for browsing, streaming, reading online magazines and occasional retro gaming. It is also great for the grandkids to video call their grandparents.

Admittedly I only have a 10.5" tablet which is lighter, smaller and cheaper than the one we are talking about here, and probably less of concern if I was to drop it or spill water on it…but I wouldn't mind trying a larger screen! I do also have a MS Surface, which is somewhat similar but battery life on that is abysmal now

  • With Cash Rewards its $386.

Please don't flame as this is not an Android vs iOS debate:
For a 8 year old nephew who does not really care / need a 12.7" screen, would it be better to get this or iPad 11" 2025 for around $450? I understand that Apple products have a better resale value but the kid is unlikely to take good care of the tablet and hence resale might not be viable option in the future.

The key advantage of Android is the ability to sideload Apps. Is this a significant advantage for kids who might be interest in low cost options for educational and learning apps?

    • How did you get the 15% off to also appear in cashrewards for Lenovo, if i click it without using cashrewards I see the 15% off suggestion. but using cash rewards i cant see it

      • Im stuck at $424.15 without using cash rewards at the moment, would like to obtain cashback for that.

      • +3

I got mine by going to linked Lenovo page and waiting for the 15% to appear then ticking the box. Then went to cash rewards and used that to go to Lenovo store with cash back. Searched for the tablet, added to cart and code was applied at checkout. All in same browser session.

        • ah unlucky from my end, couldnt get the additional 15% to appear on my browser. By the time i tried again it was midnight. Did not buy in time unfortunately.

    • +1

Are you in Apple ecosystem or android? Which phone do you have?

At this age, if you are giving a tablet to your kid, what you really need is parental control. If you have an apple phone, then get an iPad and create a kids apple account.
If you have android, then use family link to create kids account in your family manager and use that to activate this android tablet. Both tablets will have plenty of apps. Having iPad might mean, more cost of app purchases etc but you mainly need parental control.

You can install family link on your iPhone as well. So my choice of tablet will be an android one. But keep in mind that you will have to make all the efforts to find and download any apps to sideload. Make sure to use virustotal to check before installing etc.

      • Thank you; we currently have iPhones.

        • I strongly suggest you to get iPad. You will have full control over kids iPad including any app purchases and you will be able to specify the screen time for the kid.

Sideloading the apps to an android tablet is a good feature but it will be hard to find full apps with all the data for that age group especially for the apps which require in app purchases validated by the server

  • Great deal thanks for posting! I just ordered one, using cashrewards and the Lenovo coupon applied it is $382 after cashback. Awesome considering you get the pen and warranty!

  • Ordered one, too, strangely, my credit card got charged for the amount ($424.15) twice.

    • One for each eye.

  • +2

Was too busy doing other things and missed the cashrewards extra - 'temporarily unavailable'. Perhaps OZbargained.

Will just now have rely on 15% off

EDIT: Seems deal is over, 15% is still available but price has returned to $699.. I did look at deal prior to 12midnight, but perhaps it's clicked over to different pricing the day after

  • MAYTAB is no longer valid.
Seems like S10 FE Plus is more lucrative now.

  • How are these for long-term use on the eyes, might grab one as an ebook

  • Just had a look at one on display at Officeworks. The display has a matte finish but is still very sharp.
Will be keeping an eye out for the next deal.

  • +1

    Got mine this morning.

  • Yep, mine got dropped off at the post office today, looking forward to playing around with it tomorrow

  • I received mine this afternoon. Very impressive unit in the testing this evening (we'll all find our own applications for this tablet, but I love the ability to tile windows of different apps… should be great when travelling and planning sightseeing). The one downside so far: the screen brightness is quite uneven and this is particularly noticeable when viewing with even slight rotation/off-perpendicular viewing of the screen.

  • Got mine yesterday. The matte screen is very noticeable if there is like light shining on it directly. Otherwise very nice tablet!

  • Hmmmm. You lose so much sharpness and colour with a Matte screen. Not a deal-breaker but… still.

  • +1

Yep it's very matte, so it handles reflections really well and is easy on the eye for reading and such. Trade off is that an all white screen looks quite grainy (to my eyes anyway). Looks great when watching videos and playing games or on colourful screens which is mostly what I got it for, so I'm happy. The pen is a nice bonus and works very well too.

    • Yep.. can here to say likewise and to see how people are finding it… my old lenovo tab is a bit long in the tooth and doesn't support optus sport anymore..
