  • Wonder why they went to 12.7 inches from 11.5 on the older models

    • +49

      For bigger size

      • Already kinda struggle reading things w the 11.5in 2020 xiaoxin pad pro lol.

      • lmao I love OzBargain

    • more newer panels?

  • +2

I bought mine a couple of weeks ago from the same store and received it this week. I'm really happy with it.

I did change the launcher and keyboard. Performance is great for my use case. The included 45w charger is fast (comes with au adapter separately).

Also just ordered the proper stylus (the usb c charging one).

    • which one is the proper one? is it the one via the "Pad Add Lenovo Pen" option? thanks mate

      • Did you ever get answer? I bought this 6 months ago and the tablet is amazing but would like pen but a lot of forums say that only one lenovo pen works and other ones dont. I dont want to order a wrong one.

    • What launcher and keyboard do you use?

      • +4

Nova launcher and SwiftKey keyboard which I'm used to using on my phone

        • I thought Nova is gone now.

      • Microsoft Launcher and Google Keyboard here

  • +3

Which one is better this or Tab S10 FE 256GB/12GB?

    • +7

This on basically every metric. Faster, bigger screen (subjective, but resolution is also higher), bigger battery. Warranty would be much harder, but it's also 1/3 the price.

      • How does this compare to the newest gen iPad?

        • It doesn't.

          • @sharkfan12: So….does that mean iPad still is miles better than this in terms of performance and value?

Esp since you can get the new gen iPad 11" at $477 from OW pricematch.

            • @jpwwong: They're hard to compare - it's a different ecosystem. The iPad is a good value proposition, but it's still 50% more expensive than this and you are choosing between Android and iOS.

  • This or the Poco Pad?

  • at this size is it too large for reading books/manga/comics or should i get something like 8"

    • +2

Depends on the manga you read, I have a 12 inch iPad Pro and the large screen does help with manga that have a lot of dialog (smaller text sizes)

Depends how long you want to use it in each session though, obviously the larger you get the harder it is to hold longer.

      • gonna have to two-hand this beast

        • I sit on the couch with my knees up and rest it against my legs and one hand scroll manga while having TV on in the background lol it's nice to have a wider screen for Facebook Marketplace & wasting time on carsales too as you fit more products across.

  • +1

How does this compare to the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro (2nd Gen) with OLED screen? I've had that one for just over a year and still absolutely love it. It's snappy enough for everything I use it for and the screen is gorgeous. It's only running Android 14 though, so there will come a time when I have to say goodbye, sadly. I wish the newer ones had OLED

    • +1

Seems like you're loving it with the usage you have, and if the screen is a big factor, I would most likely stick with the one you have.

      • Yeah, I definitely will, just interested to know how the newer ones compare. I assume they're a bit more powerful with the newer SOC. I don't do gaming on mobile devices in general, but the games I tried on this seemed fine.

  • thanks @Clear, finally got the 12gb version!

  • Any one use Stremio on it or will it work?

    • +1

yeah i use stremio, works great!

    • +2

Stremio runs perfectly on my 8 year old Lenovo tablet so it should be fine

    • Works fine on my 2023 version

  • Has anyone used this tablet as an extended monitor for windows laptop? either via 3rd party app (e.g. duet) or lenovo's own app? Will be great if you can share some of your experience with it. Thanks guys.

    • idk about lenovos own app but I've used third party software to turn my Xiaoxin pad pro 2020 into an external monitor with windows before!

Can also use microsoft rdp and stuff as well

      • great. How smooth is it? or a lot of lagging?

        • +1

i believe if you use a cable then there shouldn't be any lag

I feel like one of those portable monitors from aliexpress is a better option though,

I've brought one (and my first one) and it's been pretty good :D

  • +2

Any LTE versions? I have a sim I would like to put in

    • +1

      Also like to know

      • same here, looking for one with LTE

  • How does one game on this? Just android play store games or is there something else? Streaming games?

    • +2

Use it to smack a tennis ball around.

      • Or as pickleball paddles.

  • +1

Amazing pads, have 3 of them for the fam. Haven't missed a beat.

  • between this and the new apple ipad on sale atm, is there any major differences between them?

    • +3

This is Android, ipad is IOS.

  • Anyone used this for note taking? I have the Xiaomi pad 5 but cannot find a stylus replacement anywhere on aliexpress. The stylus for the xiaomi was fairly solid with good palm rejection, so hoping for the same here.

  • Too overkill for just watching downloaded YouTube videos and local media on flights?

    • Microsd slot makes it the ideal device for local media.

      • +1

Not sure why the neg, OP states

128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage with microSD support

So there should be a slot, just throw in a 256/512GB microsd and you can load it up with tons of movies/shows.

    • I hate YouTube on this, quality just sucks for some reason, probably massive screen + resolution, tried using ReVanced and it helped a lot.

  • How's the Chinese bloatware on this device?

    • +2

      You can uninstall most everything

  • +6

😀😀😀 I purchased this tablet yesterday! I bought the 8gb, 256gb model for Au $358! However, AliExpress has discount coupons available for use at most stores until 19/5/25. So I received a discount of $35. The purchase price was $323!! It was posted on the day of purchase and the expected delivery time is just 8 days with comprehensive tracking!

I have researched this tablet extremely thoroughly and watched several reviews on YouTube. This is the BEST tablet for the price on the entire market no matter what brand name!

  • promo code ended?

    • +1

I am getting following message with code AUMY35

Sorry, the coupon code you entered is based on a first come first served basis and has been used up by other shoppers. Please enter a different coupon code or explore other discounts on AliExpress.

      • Yeah same here

  • I assume the more expensive one of the same ram/HDD version is the "The Comfort Soft Light Edition"? Is it worth getting?

  • Anyone had success putting on the global rom? [global rom] https://xdaforums.com/t/flashing-cn-global-rom-for-lenovo-xi…
i have one, but putting on the global rom is still in the too hard basket atm. I have all the software and can't even manage to backup the existing rom with spft v6 for linux.

    • Got mine (12GB variant) flashed with the global rom (TB373FU) couple weeks ago

    • +2

Biggest downside to converting a CN device to global firmware is you can't use OTA updates which leaves you waiting on the manufacturer to release a new full update every so many versions and then on someone to post it then manually doing the update with the flash tool.

      • You also lose Widevine L1 for Netflix, etc. Not sure if there are any pros to installing the global rom.

        • Widevine L1 works with global

        • You don't lose Widevine L1 as this is an official ROM you can flash it without having to unlock the bootloader.

  • Any issues with running China ROM vs Global?

    • No problem, L1 works fine. I haven't tried the banking apps yet, but just keep in mind that if you switch to the global, there won't be any OTA updates. You'll need to flash it every time

  • @Clear - slightly off topic, i bought the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad but it is the global version. I didnt realise the diffrence between the two roms. Any idea if i can convert this to the chinese rom easily?

Google play seems to work ok on the tablet but i was sure if i should try and revert to global rom. Am i ok to leave it with global if the play store works ok? P.s this tablet will not be used for netflix. Local files only and usual web usage.

    Thanks mate

    • why would you ever want to change it to the Chinese rom though?

      • Most of the comments say its better to buy the chinese rom version so you can get android updates, PS access and netflix HD.

My main concerns were android updates and PS access. This rom seems to work with the playstore. I'd just like to be able to update android to prolong the life of the tablet over the long run. Im not fussed about netflix.

i could be wrong with all this of course. Happy to be corrected.

        • If you have the actual global version of the Xiaoxin Pad then it should OTA no problem, it's only if you have the CN version of it reflashed with global firmware that it's an issue. Maybe the seller did this?

          • @Agret: Yeah, they opened the box and flashed it with global rom. So i assume its from the chinese version to global.

  • +1

    code didn't work

Sorry, the coupon code you entered is based on a first come first served basis and has been used up by other shoppers. Please enter a different coupon code or explore other discounts on AliExpress.

    • Two possible solutions,
      1. Keep an eye out for new coupon codes being released
      2. Keep trying that coupon code, often they release more

    • Same here, seems it's limited uses are all gone

  • Any suggestions on a similar tablet with IPS screen? Whist a great tablet, it’ll be on my bench for cameras being displayed and commonly looked at 160*, so IPS would be far superior.

    • I’m sure this is IPS already, I can’t imagine what else it would be

  • Ugh, screen is so big!
I just want something I can use for youtube, recipes and roblox for the kiddos. 9-10.5 inch would be perfect. What's the best option out there at the moment, under $350-$400 preferably.

  • There seems to be two options (and prices) for each memory size but I can't see what the difference is? Anyone know?

    • +1

      The difference is just price.

    • This also threw me, but I just ended up selecting the cheaper price as the items were the same.

Odd that they'd have two different prices for each variant.

      • Sale and extra sale price for this deal basically.

        • +1

I am guessing it's the Comfort Soft Light version.

Edit - nevermind, the seller replied, it's not, just more expensive link with no benefit

  • Code still worked for me, just ordered now in USD and code gave me $20USD off. $207.99USD came to $322.33AU through Wise including fees

  • So is the code only to give USD$20 off the already reduced prices?

    • Correct

  • guys, is there a chance someone managed to add keyboard language other than chinese, english ?

    • +1

I assume you could just install a 3rd party keyboard like gboard or something.

      • thank you, going to try and see

  • Any recommendation for a cover with a keyboard for this one?

  • Anyone used this as Home Assistant display? Can this display be enabled/disabled based on presence/proximity?

  • Even though the discount code is expired, the tablet itself seems to be reduced down to $204 USD for the 8/128 version and $260 USD for the 12/256 version.

I believe the $10 USD discount is still valid too, so it comes to roughly $300 AUD and $390 AUD.

My question is, do you think the extra 4gb ram is worth it? The internal storage is not such a factor for me because I'll likely add a SD to it regardless.

Mainly going to use it for streaming / Plex, with the occasional emulation for long haul flights.

    • That is pre-tax, still need to add GST at checkout.

      • That's true, I might wait for the next Aliexpress discount round, but regardless do you think the extra ram is worth it?
