It's been a bit cheaper before, but in 2025, it's pretty good: next cheapest 4070 Super on pcpartpicker au is $1099.

Not as good as the RX 9070 XT, of course, but at $959 delivered it might be the right price/performance for someone.

Stood out from the crowd on the price vs performance chart I made, so I thought I'd post it here.

  • Would that have been better than a 5070 for about the same price?

the 5070 is better, but OP only earns commission from Amazon so all the other better deals aren't included in their price/performance chart.

        And there's the rub

Still useful to pick what the FPS performance is, although different cards will perform differently based on cooling, OC, etc.

I guess if you don't mind the extremely limited information or the fact that any cards not in stock at Amazon aren't even included in the charts.

I personally think that Tom's Hardware GPU Benchmarks Hierarchy does a far better job at providing a quick overview of how the cards compare against one another if that's something you're looking for

      • doesn't ozb force strip affiliate links? or are there other ways of earning commissions from amazon?

  • just buy these cards and say you use these SOLELY to run local AI to help with your work and claim tax deduction.

The 5070 is better for only an extra 40 bucks or cheaper if you have ebay plus.

    • Wait, so the super is a lesser card?

      • from what I remember .. I think the "super" sits in between the "regular" and the Ti version. (Ti being the best of the 3.)

        edit:
took me a little bit to find .. but this may be a good "guide" as to what the versions of the models mean for various cards. I know this link is a "5060 roundup" .. but I am using it as a reference for the version names.

hope clears things up a little.

The 5070 outperforms the 4070 Super, and then outperforms a 4070 Ti Super when overclocked. This is a terrible deal.

        • I misread 4070 Super as 5070…. Thanks for clarifying!

5070 is cheaper, do not buy, doesn't matter whether you have eBay+ it's $5. 5070 was also $900 other day so I advise to be patient.

  • Shouldn't these be coming down in price now?

    • +2

They're discontinued, so it's just emergency/residual stock, all TSMC wafers were shifted to the 50 series.

  • Surely the 9070 at $1050 is also a better deal for the gaming crowd?

This is a bit off the topic ..

Does anyone know/can recommend any reliable 3rd party coolers (modifications) for video cards?

I wanted to buy and mod a 4060 low profile card with something n3rdware (had) made for a small spaced computer .. but I can't seem to find their (n3rdware) product for sale anymore.

    Thanks.

  • The only reason I could see this being chosen over a 5070 is if someone wants PhysX. Not really a deal.

    • 32-bit PhysX applications, which is a much shorter list and most of the games are stuff you'd never have heard of (though there are also some classics).

Supports 64-bit PhysX just fine, and will move over to AI physics models in time.

  • not a deal , 5070 is similar price better performance!
