A few days ago I was on the hunt for a second monitor and was considering another of OzBargain's favourite S2722QC, when I found out there is a new model for 2025.

List price was $499 when I first checked. I've been watching the price and today saw it dropped to $449.90.

With the DNCPAU11 coupon and a rounding adjustment in cart, this brings it down to $399.41.

Thought I would share in case anyone else was interested in this monitor.

      Not 4K?

$532 after code. Great price indeed!

    • Does the S3425DW have a KVM switch?

    • Appears as though the S3425DW is a VA display as opposed to the IPS display of the 27".

      • +1

VA is better than IPS for large screens. Contrast is king for displays so VA is also better if you use monitor a lot in the dark at night as there is no IPS backlight bleed.

Just looking for a decent monitor for my daughter for school work and stuff. Does this have enough power through USB C port to keep her surface pro charged and display onto the monitor?

Or we will need one with USB C hub?

    • +1

This one is not capable of what you have in mind. The downstream USB C is just for peripherals or charging a phone, not connecting to or powering a laptop.

This one with Type-C upstream and 90W PD will do the trick.

        Cheers mate

        • +1

If you can stretch to one with a USB-C hub built in (like the one in this deal, or linked by xdirex above) it's probably worth the convenience of single cable charge + display. Then she can also leave the Surface charger in her bag and less likely to forget to take it to school.

  • Worth waiting for EOFY sales?

Is there a non4k version of this monitor with the new releases? Seems like the s2722dc is a much older model.

Also, can you pernanently change resolution to just 1440p in the monitor itself, so any laptop (mac and windows) I connect does not need to go 4k?

    • If you click the OP deal link, there are three resolution options for this monitor: 1080p, 1440p and 4k. Only the 1080p version is cheaper though.

Not sure about resolution settings on the monitor itself, but I have the older S2722QC and I can unplug my MBP and connect it to other screens, and coming back to the S2722QC it'll remember the settings I had on it and revert to that. Couldn't tell you what Windows does here, sorry.

Edit: checked that the deal code works on the other resolutions and it does. 1080p version comes to $296.

      • yeah the 27 1440 is the s2722dc on that page i mentioned above, which is an old model.

otherwise if this 4k version does not always force me to use 4k then that would be nice. it's more of there's 2 different computers that will be swapping in and out of the monitor so I thought a setting within the monitor that will force it to remember would work better.

        • Right, sorry, I didn't notice the 1440p model was older, only that the 1080p model seems to be new (and cheaper). The monitors won't force native resolution exclusively, but it'll be dependent on what you've set in each computer's settings.

You'll also find, though, that it'll look better running at native res but using scaling options. My media PC (Windows 10) runs at 4k on my TV but scaled at 200% so effectively 1080p but the text is much sharper. There are in-between options for other resolutions as well, and Macs do it too.

  • Any suggestion for decent 27inch Nvidia Gsync compatible monitor. Mostly will be used for office work, sometimes for gaming

    • Preferably 4k but 2k is also fine

    • AW2725QF was $4xx seems pretty decent.

      • Yeah I was looking for that, but no Rtings review also, in the last deal some people said this is not good in responsiveness

  • Good for PS5?

  • Works as well on the 32" one which for some reason you cant access on the main page when selecting it. it defaults to OLED one.

    less than $500

any deal on 40" 5k x 2k would be appreciated

  • Just bought a mac mini and cant decide between this monitor or this MSI one from jb hifi https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/msi-modern-md272uphg-27-4…. The MSI has more ports and higher charging watts.

  • I'm getting only 30hz refresh rate in 4k when connected via usb-c and hdmi. Seems 120hz is only in hd. Latest drivers, ddpm installed. Laptop is 15" xps from last year. What am I doing wrong here?

    • +3

Seems it's because I had have both hdmi and usb-c connected. Once I left only usb-c it's fine. 4k 120hz.

  • Anyone willing to share the 15% discount code please?! Thanks

    • +1

can the codes be used multiple times? I do have one but dont want to give it away and lose access.

      • Hmm…I am not sure. Thanks for considering though.

I ended up ordering the monitor with the deal coupon. Didnt want it to go out-of-stock as it is a great deal!

  • I'm hoping someone can eliminate some confusion for me here.

I'm looking for a monitor for a Mac Mini M4 that is 32"

With this particular monitor, if you scroll down, they mention:

    "Works with devices on macOS®*
Tested with devices on macOS, this USB-C monitor is ready-to-work with Mac® devices."

But I'm not seeing that with the 32" version.

So, which is the variable here to look out for? Also, for what reason will some work with it and others will not?

I have 'BetterDisplay' installed and it is a wonder of an application, allowing variable resolution and scaling. So I'm wondering if the issue can be solved with a software solution.

    • Do you have BetterDisplay pro or free?

  • +2

Just arrived, great monitor. Forgot to check before ordering though, no audio output port. The built in speakers are awful, so the lack of audio output hurts the usability when connecting to a type c device or a game console compared to other options.

    • Can you not just play sound off your PC?

      • I have good speakers, and can't pair this monitor with them.

To use the speakers with the PC I need to connect the speakers directly to the PC, when swapping to the MacBook I need to connect an adaptor to the MacBook, go under the desk and unplug the speaker from the PC then connect it to the MacBook instead. To connect to the Switch, I need to unplug from the PC or MacBook, dock the switch then plug it into the top of the switch.

It's doable and it works, but it's a pain compared to a monitor with an audio out and requires audio output be supported on any device I use the monitor with.

at this site it said it does have 3.5mm audio out port

      It's a different (older) model.

  • Sold my 34-inch ultrawide monitor for this, and I have no regrets, the convenience and simplicity of USB-C make it worth it. :-)

  • Doh 🤦🏻‍♂️

    I was trying to find a $400 4K >100hz 27” (shared gaming / wfh monitor) and couldn’t a couple of weeks ago. I ended up getting a second hand M28u for $300.

This would have been great as my docking station (Dell Wd15) doesn’t support 4K (says it does with mDP but it doesnt) and this inbuilt hub would have been perfect.

Sounds like a good deal 👍

  • Anyone know how long this deal will be active for? I'm waiting for a new credit card to arrive in the mail so I can use this monitor purchase to churn :)

  • I am looking for a 32", 4k, >100hz, USB-C monitor which get a simliar price tag (<$500), any suggestions?

  • -1

I recall when Dell sold 165Hz 27" monitors for around the same price. I'm using one now. That makes me go "meh" to this 'deal'

  • -1

This monitor not having a 3.5mm jack is a really strange omission. I get that the in-built speakers are better but it’s losing a port compared to the previous versions. And you won’t be able to use external speakers with any of the HDMI inputs.

  • Got this monitor this week.

Overall is a good monitor. Text is crisp and colours are ok. The blacks are better than my G3223Q 4K Dell. The text and white uniformity is a little off. It’s not a colour correction monitor but for the price you can’t complain.

27 at 4K is a little weird. Things can either seem a bit small at 150% scaling or too big at 175% scaling but you can work with both.

It makes my 32” seem a bit washed out and it’s definitely brighter than the G3223Q

I wish they made this in 32” for about $500, would be a good buy

    • Text is crisp and colours are ok.
The text and white uniformity is a little off.

Huh? What do you mean? Also what about black/grey uniformity, specifically blacks, in very dark scenes is there brighter patches on certain parts?
Also is there some sort of dynamic contrast? I find 3000 contrast on my VA kind of poor and enable dynamic contrast so I don't know if I can stomach the switch to IPS though this monitor having 1500 is rather high for IPS.
