Telstra $350 12-Month Prepaid SIM Starter Kit $285 Delivered (Activate by 7 July for 310GB Data) @ AudiTech

160
BONUS

Boost is gone, no $150 1 year plans anymore.
This is next best thing to get long range coverage in the outback. I think. Boost might still be a bit cheaper, but not by much now, and you get first class seats.

145GB bonus data (310GB in total) if activate by 7/7/2025.

Use code BONUS at checkout to get $285.

Buy me a pint! Im in Crows Nest 2065 :)

PS: $299 at Costco with $35 Costco Shop Card, but fark Costco, it is useless, I went there for this deal and could not find stuff to buy. I'm done with Costco.

The next best thing to $150 Boost right now would be $238 Boost? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/907017

$238 for MVNO vs $285 for the real thing? You choose.

      • MVNO has better customer service….

Especially Telstra auto complaint closure process. I got an email saying our tower congestion will be fixed Feb 5. Then an apology, it's been delayed 2 months, we will give a compensation credit. Followed by this complaint has been resolved email..no credit. If you reply…it says it's closed (hot tip, remove your complaint number from anywhere in the email and it will then send).
But then you start from scratch… compensation credit…. hmm not sure about that…dodgey.

Boost - I'm having problems with the local tower. Call drop outs, data fails 2pm to 6pm. Ok, here's a credit.

Summary - I'd go the MVNO

        • escalate it by calling them, there's a complaint's process & then there's a one where you get a real person assigned who does actually rectify it (sometimes requires threat of ombudsman) insist on an official complaints reference number not one assigned by online chat idiots

Boost is owned and run by telstra, so doesnt really matter and might as well choose the cheaper one. There are few differences in international calls though.

        • I heard there is radio coverage difference between Boost and Telstra Proper. Let me dig in…

          • @nuker: Absolutely no difference from my experience. Tested with identical phones side by side. Don’t believe the nonsense.

            • @Maths Debater: So Boost for the win! Sorry for all the fish :) Winner is $238 here. I retire now.
My only reason I can straight switch from my current Boost without hoops. And I still not sure about coverage / bandwidth to be honest.

          • @nuker: Boost uses full Telstra network unlike uther MVNOs, which use Telstra Wholesale. It is throttled and doesnt work everywhere. Tried and tested while travelling around the country

          • @nuker: having recently swapped I have not noticed any difference in coverage or speed

            • +1

@Irishness: I have gone switched between the two every year for a least 5yrs, I have found no difference. It's funny I forgot I had a Auditech account, they always have good yearly deals.

      • Exact same service except for the speed. I personally don’t know anyone who requires full 5G bandwidth on their phone.

        • Boost is also with 5G speeds (like Telstra) though, no?

  • New customers only. 😡
How long do people port out for, before porting back in as a ‘new customer’?

    • +1

      Like 15-30 minutes.

      • Have you tried just calling Telstra customer service and getting them to sort it out without porting?

    • If you do it in less than a day, the port back to Boost can fail, and you'll need to get chat to finalise the port.

Just did Boost -> ALDI -> Boost yesterday in 10 minutes, port fell over at the Boost end.

  • Lebara has some discounted plans too https://www.lebara.com.au/prepaid-plans/long-expiry/

    • The thing we care about here is long range, deep in outback reception. So far only Boost and Telstra proper use "Telstra Retail Network", compared to "Telstra Wholesale" used by other MVNOs with limited coverage.

    • Don’t go with lebara. I just ported from amaysim to it and the reception is so so bad. Also, I couldn’t make international calls and they couldn’t figure out why for a week. Pathetic!

If anyone's Home loan is from CBA then one can get $20pm discount for 12 months on More telecom.
Their minimum 5G plan would cost you $12pm for 25GB which is $144 for 300GB for 12 months on Telstra 5G network which includes Unlimited international calls too.
I'm using it for the past 2 months and never had any issue even while commuting in vline.

    • Was free for a bit there. But I still had 6 months to go and missed it. Cheers for the update pricing / offer.

    • Is this some CBA yellow deal?

      • +1

        yes

        • Just checked and their roaming deal is pretty expensive. Might stick with Telstra for another year. My home loan still has 20 years to run so plenty of time to get on More

    • More doesn't use the full retail network. They use Telstra wholesale

Good if you don't care/need that.

    • Need to get in quick, it says they're removing the CommBank Yello Homeowner mobile offer from 4 June 2025.

Costco has it for $299 and $35 cashback.

    • not cashback. "Costco shop card", emailed in few weeks. But I found nothing good to buy there.

      • Butter, pizza cheese, wine, tzatziki all things cheaper at Costco that supermarkets.

        • +1

          Apparently some people don't eat

        • Dr Pepper!

    • Any idea if it has same activate by 7 July for 310GB Data? Thanks

      • +1

It's the offer provided by telstra not by retailer, definitely has the same.

    • For people who shop at costco that’s a better deal.

  • 150Mbps download speed cap on 4G and 5G….Ew
