    price beat at Officeworks

    • Did you try this? Did it work?

      • yes, last week and last year as well

      • free next day delivery too when i did it a couple of weeks back

        • Online or in store? They alway make BS excuses to get out of price matching.

          • +1

@unity1: Can’t price match online, have to phone or in store

            • @Bozman: I did phone. They told me they don't PM LM but then couldn't give me a reason why.

          • @unity1: Phoned the main number and no issues . Ended up doing it twice

  • Out of interest do we still have to port out and back in if already with Boost?

    • +2

Yes, buy a $5 Aldi sim, port to that sim with your current number, once completed, port back to new Boost with your number as a 'new customer'. No need to wait a certain amount of time between porting to Aldi and back either, once active - port.

      • +3

You'd think they'd just allow ppl to recharge with this instead of making ppl jump through hoops.

        • +3

You can try your luck, definitely have heard of instances where you contact them and they just push you through as a new customer without porting back and forth; depends on who you get.

@browny3196: This worked for me last year, this time round they refused and said last time was a one time courtesy and forced me to go buy a cheap vodaphone sim, port out then back in. However I now found vodaphone is 100x better in my area, I get 5G! and super fast downloads compared to boost

      • Isnt Aldi on telstra? I thought you had to port out to someone thats not telstra?

        • Yes, but there's a difference between using Telstra itself as a mobile carrier and using carriers that use Telstra towers (e.g - Boost, ALDI, JB Hi-Fi, Woolworths, Belong). Works just fine.

      • This works 100%? I am due to expiry of my 12 months plan. Looking for options.

    • How about if porting from Telstra?

Im sure Boost is same speeds and coverage as Telstra?

And im sure one can do as many of these plans as new number to qualify as new customer

Why I'm asking as my current plan is with Telstra/JB-HiFi $99 plan (currently discounted to $69) which is a 300gb plan with unlimited cslls/sms etc use for data only in my 5G WiFi modem

  • Will this work in a modem (tethering)?

  • Since Boost got rid of the lower data 12 month Sims, whats the go to now? I don't even use 100gb over 12 months so these are way too much.

    • Still $20p/m which is reasonably good

  • I was with boost earlier, then moved to lyca. Can re-join boost as a new customer?

  • 290GB on new activations by 7 July 2025 - https://boost.com.au/products/300-prepaid-sim

What happens if it isn't activated by 7 July?

    • No 290gb. Will most likely be less

      • It'll be the base 240GB if activated after the offer ends

  • I'm currently using Boost and I've noticed congestion in crowded areas in Melbourne, such as the MCG and Rod Laver Arena. Considering this issue, rather than focusing on pricing or data inclusion, should I stay with Boost, switch to Telstra, or opt for Vodafone? Thanks in advance!

I had someone describe to me once in those situations (MCG, arean, type settings).
It's like a 4 lane highway. Most times it's free crusing. However during certain times, eg peak hour where there are more cars that anticipated, despite the 4 lanes + no lights, it's will slow down.
