Don't think I've seen this model this low without needing an ABN. Good guys did a price match when I asked over the chat system.

Edited to say without needing an ABN, thank you!
No ABN needed for GG Commercial and their price is currently $1272
Used to be easy to create a free REST super account to get access but apparently that's no longer offered. Still, you could just pay $50 for a 2 year G'day Rewards membership to get access and that would still be a big saving.
Other ways: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/tggc_access
Did not know that, thank you for the info, I'll check it out!
I have a Samsung 65" BU8000 Crystal LED UHD 4K Smart TV [2022 I got couple of years ago, also got a tcl same time.
I claimed Samsung tv this one for the cinema room well chill out room lol.
I have an older Sony soundbar with woofer probably had it since 2016 or 2017 still works but not getting anything much from it these days unless it’s cause I’m streaming and don’t work as good. Or not set up right.I have a UBPX700 4k player I’m sure the better one is with the bigger tv a Panasonic DP-UB820 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray Player with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ Support.
I’m what’s the go on these speakers sound bars? I hear a lot about Dolby vision sounds like to me similar what I had had years ago where sounds came from all over.
I noticed there is a link on this post to a previous deal in past and someone got stands for the rear speakers.
I just want to know what with my set up or items i mentioned above if I was to get these soundbars with rear speakers would i be wasting my time or major improvement.
It just be nice to hear and enjoy the more more with good sound etc.
And what’s the best price it’s been.I've had a soundbar + woofer (essentially 2.1ch) set up for about 10 years. Just recently switched to a 9.1.4 surround sound system with the rear speakers (Samsung q930d). It's absolutely life changing. It's to the point where I'm pausing the TV, physically turning around thinking something is behind me, only to realise that it was the audio. There's no going back.
The q930d is still an excellent set up, but doesn't break the bank as much - RRP is 1500, but you can nab it at sub-1000 prices during sales (currently at Harvey Norman for around $847), but I've seen it as low as ~$600 during Samsung sales + discount codes which is an absolute steal IMO. It might be worth waiting for EOFYS.
Do they work out of the box without updates? Can I keep it dumb and never connect it to the internet?
Yep, out of the box no updates. I'm not even sure it can connect to Wi-Fi for updates, but I've never had to.
So would it not be worth getting this as some are telling me my tv is crap just purchased 2023.
No plans on changing the tv.Weird things Samsung called me are offering me discounts codes for being a customer they emailed and called no code given but when will this hit the eoyr price of $600 as could contact them how long code is for what where how to I get it.
I’m sure it will still be good for my tv and maybe i update tv in a few years but it’s good enough for me right now.
But down the line i seriously want to get in best bang for buck tv which will my 4k movies look amazing and show it off,as well as hopefully this deal on q930d you mentionedIn my opinion, I would hold off - this isn't the best value deal out there, especially with EOFY coming up.
Your best bet is to get the last year's models, which will always have the biggest discounts. The previous models end with "C" and "D", while the latest series is "F".I still have my 2015 Sony TV - it's nearing the end of its life (lots of light bleeding and artifacts), but I'm not in a financial position to upgrade yet. I will be definitely upgrading to OLED next to maximise the viewing experience, but I'm on the same boat as you. I chose to upgrade my audio first, and wow what a difference it made.
@bargainhunter9: Yes obviously I will wait for eofy to happen so what was the one you recommended q930d so this is a two year older model then if it’s at f now?
As I said if you mentioned it goes as low as $600 I can maybe get discount from Samsung as they called me I missed the message offering a discount or 10 to 15% and an email but no code lol.
Maybe I can contact them when it’s dropped and say they offered me discount code would like now and maybe get better price.
Yes my tv was only purchased 2023 and yes I now know maybe not the best one now but it was for the bedroom and I’m sure it was $800 or less.
But now I have moved the Sony 2016 3d tv in bedroom and and got Samsung one in other lounge which I call cinema room.
The main lounge had they bigger tcl tv which could be used as well with that we have an older Yamaha soundbar. Which is not to bad but these devices are getting old.
I want to get some good sounds and effects with speakers behind me if you know what I mean
Really not much point getting Samsung's best soundbar (which isn't as good as least years) with their worst TV of 2022. Better to upgrade TV to a TCL Mini led, and get a JBL Bar800. Or if you really want decent, get Sonos for audio. And upgrade TV later on
Are you saying my Samsung tv is crap?
Edge lit LED/LCD with 50hz refresh rate kinda speaks for itself. Would definitely recommend the upgrade.
Yes, your TV is crap.
@recession1: Only purchased it may 2023 looked ok to me but I don’t know what to look for in a tv and I not be replacing it anytime soon.
which isn't as good as least years
What fresh bollocks is this?
They ruined the sub, last years sounds better. Sealed sub doesn't give that low rumble. But saying that I own Sonos, but I work in the industry so yeah.
Spending $1600 on a soundbar is just insane.
It's not really a bargain at that price
Sonos setup would easily cost double of that. But yes, < $1000 is the sweet spot for Q990 series.
It's not just a soundbar. It's 11.1.4. Let's see your 11.1.4 alternative at a better price.
Packing more tweeters into a soundbar still makes it a soundbar.
Now while he stands tough, notice that this man, did not have his hands up.
Aka : You didn't answer the question. Fine. The satellites are 3 way themselves. Just point at a system that offers 3-way rears at this price point.
via good guys commercial of member i paid $1272 for samsung soundbar q990f. sweet deal
No idea on how it tracks for the new model so far - but this series is typically available for $900-$1200 through various EoFY, Black Friday, Clearance, Boxing Day or staff/commercial portals relatively frequently throughout the year, so I’d suggest hold out unless you need it urgently.
I ended up buying the Samsung 930d soundbar today and i remember reading and coming across a link to rear speaker stands.
Im pretty sure this was the one.https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/aw/d/B0C81FKV37/ref=ox_sc_saved…
Does anyone own them and what are your thoughts? reviews say they are great.
Its also mentioned by the time you feed cable through stand there is not much left at the end?
How short do we have left?Did you guys just use an extension lead which may look a bit ugly or did you guys get a longer replacement cable if so what did you get and where from?
I assume these longer cables are just the same as what comes with your package etc and will work the same. When I do set up my speaker on a stands they will be at each side of the sofa and at least one will be 5m or so away from socket and depends on how short they are if using the orginally rear speaker cables the other maybe a bit short just depends on the set up.
I have no idea what cables these are that people mention and where best to get them.
Judy curious what you guys did or used etc.
